It's the Angus barn really do I need to say more. The lounge upstairs is amazing and beautiful And you feel like you've been thrown back in time with how quaint and just luxurious everything feels.

Van Eure runs a world-class restaurant just about as perfectly as it gets. The food, the attentiveness, the ambience, and the overall experience is always a cut above every other establishment in this genre. I have been frequenting the Angus Barn since 1971 when Van's late parents Thad and Alice Eure owned the restaurant and I can truly say that I always enjoy the fabulous meal and the personal attention I receive from the minute I step in the door. If you do not know Van, ask to meet her the next time you dine there. She is the essence of southern charm, grace, and hospitality. Thanks, Van.
So in all fairness I am comparing the ambience, food, drinks , and customer service to Ruth Kris Steakhouse our favorite spot. Could be bias but hands down Ruth Kris wins in all departments even with the different themed rooms. Food cannot compare as the steak was not jumping off the plate sizzling and sides were just good. The mixed drinks were not the best. Great selection of wine and desert menu did not interest me. Our server was cool ,the area we sat in was a little to intimate ...so much so I turned to get out of seat and accidently spilled wine on the woman sitting behind me. No real complaints they are just not as good.
A Raleigh landmark ! Excellent service and the food is very delicious. The ambiance is very business group friendly and family friendly. I would always recommend reservations every time you want to go a few days in advance.
What an experience! The food was fantastic. The beef filet and lobster tail combo was absolutely fantastic!!! The 'Shrimps Jimmy' were superb as well - melt in your mouth tasty! The restaurant has such fantastic ambiance. The Cellar room was awesome, with a great tour of the wine cellar as well. A fantastic evening with amazing food and great wine, topped off with time in the wild turkey lounge! Awesome!!!!
Beautiful place for dinner! Beautifully decorated for Christmas, inside & Outside, with dozens of tall tree lit up with giant decorations all the way to their tops, ( see pictures). Large portions, great service From Jammie! He made us feel like we were the only diners there. You will need a reservation as the place opens at 5:30 PM, and it was packed by 6:00 PM. THEY ASK IF YOUR THERE FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION! IF ITS YES, THEY BRING YOU A CAKE, ON THE HOUSE.
Imagine Cracker Barrel meets a high end steak house... but with style. I'm from Texas so I get steak all the time and I was wanting a lighter meal. So, I ordered the tuna steak... It was wonderful! The rest of the table all orders steak and they were very pleased with thier selections. I will return next time I'm in town.
Remarkable. Best restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of eating ate. Service, food, and building all come together to create a rustic yet romantic atmosphere. Reminds me of growing up on my Grandparents farm.
Price of everything is reasonable for the area. It's around 35-50 a head not including drinks and tip everytime I have been.
I can't recommend this restaurant enough.
P.s. Get the prime rib grilled pittsburgh rare with bearnaise sauce. You can thank me later!
Simply stunning, there's nothing else to say. The ambiance is classic and diverse, clearly crafted with great care and creativity. The food is expertly crafted, literally, and the staff is of the highest quality. Whatever kind of food you like, this will have a place for you, get there.
Had a large party- felt VERY rushed- took food before finished. Never go in large group again. Taking kids into kitchen and let them make own ice creme was a nice touch.
Best steak in NC! Well worth the money! Quality steak with paired sides. Plus they've been paying their employees living wages before living wages was a thing.
Last night, my wife and I treated a dear friend to dinner at the Angus Barn to celebrate her recent retirement. We could not be more pleased...with EVERYTHING! We were seated in the perfect place; kind of out of the way, but near everything. Everyone was so wonderful at tending to our every need! Jaime, our waiter, was unbelievable! He brought us some complimentary retirement ribs to start us off. We have NEVER experienced such incredible service! The meal was spectacular! The salads, steaks, and shrimp were ALL prepared perfectly, to our exact specifications. And the special retirement cake was the perfect desert! Jaime was truly a blessing! We are definitely looking forward to our next visit to the Angus Barn. I am sorry, but 5 stars are not enough! Thank you!
This place is amazing. Have yet to have anything o fo not enjoy from any place on the menu. Not toention they give you a free pound cake of you are celebrating an event.
Incredible experience and taste every single time you go. The service is extraordinary and friendly and the food is just as amazing, their steaks are cooked to perfection no matter how you want them done and no matter the cut.
The experience is super cool. I get why there are great reviews. The food was good, the service was great and they re very knowledgeable. However, it definitely was not worth the price. Three palm-sized lobster claws (just the claw, not like crab legs, kinda small) and asparagus (and a side Caesar) was $70, and though they were good, they tasted like the same crab you get from Wegman s or Joe s Crab Shack. (Which again, is good!) But definitely wouldn t pay that much for it again I don t think. Someone else mentioned they had better stuff at Bonefish Grill and I would agree with that. Or Carrabas. I would save your money. Unless you re there for the experience and whiskey and wine!
One of my favorite places EVER. An iconic Raleigh landmark that welcomes visitors to the Triangle, and welcomes residents back year after year. I love to sit in the Wild Turkey Lounge and then hit the meat locker patio if it's nice out. Try the Buffalo Turkey wings and don't miss the Chocolate Chess Pie! And don't forget to take your good luck apple when you leave!
Definitely in my top five list. Starting from the service to the food, top notch. However due to it's enormous reputation it is recommended to make a reservation beforehand.
Painfully overrated. Nice size portions, but taste of lobster, broccoli and crab cake was lackluster at best. The server Kat was awesome. However, due to lack of flavor in main course I have no plans to return.
First time I've ever been here, even though I've lived here for 25+ years. Very impressed, love the decor (fancy gun collection), awesome food. Got the lobster tail and steak combo. Lobster tail was perfecto.
Having dinner at the Angus Barn is always a wonderful experience. The food is delicious and the service is unbelievable. One of my most favorite places to have dinner.
Exceptional service very good food, we had a party of 16 we were all served very well very quickly officially pleased overall with everything including the aviance.
Always great food and service here. Great place for client dinners. I always ask them to build individual custom appetizer plates for each of my guests; a crabcakes, a jumbo prawn and a couple ribs. It's always a big crowd pleaser, and if someone has certain dislikes, you can customize their appetizer. Ribeyes and prime rib are always perfect!! And dont miss out on the cheese spread before dinner. Truly one of my all time favorite restaurants!!
To put it simply, this is my favorite restaurant in the world. I cannot say enough good things about this place. My family has been going here for decades and it has yet to disappoint (and if part of it does happen to disappoint, their amazing customer service goes above and beyond to make it right).
