Anchor Bankside Review

It is a great place to have a drink. They have vegan options, "fish" and chips, falafel and a dessert of chocolate cake, cherries and vanilla ice cream, which is not much but is appreciated. Also several vegetative dishes, carnivores, sandwiches, as well as a great variety of beers, ciders and wines. It's worth stopping and enjoying the site

Cozy pub with outdoor area. We tried fish and chips and would recommend it.

Had a few ciders outside on a sunny Saturday a couple of weeks ago. Really buzzing atmosphere and great spot for people watching. Beer extremely expensive but you pay for the atmosphere!
Staff really efficient and friendly except for one young woman who was skulking around with a face like a dropped pasty the entire time we were there (she did eventually get snapped at by the manager which was a bit harsh, but she was literally just sat on her phone)

This little pub is so beautiful and it's location is beautiful too. Taking a walk along side the river and stopping here for a drink was such a good idea. It has amazing history too!

Love the place, great location, have visited on numerous occasions and will still visit.
Only reason for the 4 stars was, I don't like having my drinks in plastic cups.

Very simple relax place for beer. In the first floor you can order meal and enjoy the river view without get into the crowds.

Traditional British pub on the bank of the Thames a stones throw from London Bridge Station. Good choice of drinks and good range of traditional pub grub. Always very busy everytime I've been in. Outside seating and an upstairs terrace area. Great location on the South Bank not far from all the attractions nearby.

Complained about the added salt to the salad, accused of adding it ourselves, refused to give refund

It's a perfect place to eat and overlooking the river in this historical setting.

Good old fashioned boozer. Great setting and amazing outdoors in summer. Part of a strong crawl from London Bridge to Waterloo or vice versa.

Good food good ambience. The place is located just beside the Thames. The view is amazing and the drinks are reasonably priced. The food isn't that great but once you are drunk who really cares. A definate visit.

Very old, but very nice bar. There is a gluten-free beer. There is a terrace overlooking the Thames.

After saying at the entrance that we wanted to eat we were seated after having sanitized the table. After 35 minutes, saw that
no rep approached we informed
a waitress that we were ready to order: she replies that the kitchen was closed
At that point we left. For the sake of completeness, we entered at 8.45pm

Only went to the pub part on the ground floor and the garden. Fast service at the bar and a nice crowd of people.
It's located in st Katherine's dock which also has other restaurants and bars

Spread out but a fun walk along the river with great places to have a drink and listen to street music with friends or make some new ones!

I really love this place. Every year when i'm on vacation in london this is one of our stops. It's really big and has a friendly staff. I ordered a steak and it was delicious. The chocolate fudge cake is one off the best cakes i've ever tasted. I really recommend this place for the tourists and the locals. Overall an great experience

A fantastic Riverside pub with great vibes and terrific crowd. The best place to be after a long day of work and cooling off stress with a cold pint. The views outside the pub are superb and the ambience is very cosy. There is a continuous run of tourists and that adds to the charm. A must visit place.

The classic pub experience. Find your own table, order at the bar and enjoy the floors that Shakespeare himself likely walked on!

Lovely outside setting. Busy, but good drunk section and outside bar.

TLDR: I've only been here once and will not visit again, because I received awful service.

STORY: My friends and I were going to The Globe to catch an evening show, so we stopped by this pub for dinner. We placed our order at the bar and PAID. After a 25 min wait, we asked the staff when our food was going to arrive because we didn't want to miss the play. He apologised and refunded our money because THEY NEVER PUT OUR ORDER IN WITH THE COOKS.

Love this place near the river thames. My husband and I have had several evenings in the past. The cocktails are amazing to taste

A good address on the banks of the Thamise. A magnificent facade, a large terrace, and also a lot of space inside.
We eat well.

Lovely pub just down from the Globe that while it has the potential to be overly touristy thankfully was not. Probably the most interesting thing about this pub that would distinguish it from others was the layout. There were I think three levels inside plus a second floor terrace but the organization of the staircases made it feel like more. This was one of the later stops on our engagement tour of central London and sitting out on the terrace ringed with flower boxes overlooking the Thames was a perfect way to entre the evening. The position of said terrace makes you feel that much more removed from the likely daily tourist chaos of the path below and able to enjoy actual London. Decent selection of beers and whiskies as well. Would certainly stop by again.

Absolutely disgusting service, the staff are very rude. I would highly recommend you stay clear of this place, especially as there are so many more places to choose from in this area!

Nice large old fashion pub with beer garden roof top and 2-3 levels of seating space

This place is defined by long queues at the bar and then service that doesn't have much of a smile. The food was acceptable but very expensive. The best thing going for it is its riverside location.

Good views from the open air terrace, service leaves a lot to be desired.

Good pub been coming here over the years and was very covid secure but had to use an app to by drinks and one of our company didn't have a phone.

The food was really good. We definetly come back when we are in London again.

A pint in a historic pub. Good service considering how busy. Close to The Globe. Food was respectable and about what we expected.
