A cozy Pub. Large and pleasant pub, with a terrace that has very good views. A place where you can have a good pint or a simple lunch or dinner (fish & chips, hamburger ...). The service is friendly, fast and correct.
Love the patio off the water, gets a little crowded and short on umbrellas but good atmosphere
Delicious food and beverages, super friendly staff.
Great place to have a tipple and food is pretty good too
Good old London Pub, been popping in from time to time for twenty years or more, always smells of toilets and farts! and the security staff are rude, other than that its ok!!!
Great atmosphere outside, but ran out of certain drinks so had to go inside. Took forever to get served considering there were so many people working. Toilets are an absolute mess, some doors doors don't have locks. This is a all just a weekday.
Lovely pub along the Thames, nice atmosphere and lots of character. The red paint exterior makes it an unmissable draw. Popular and busy but we were served quickly enough. A great stop to catch your breath or rest before taking in the rest of the sights .
Inside outside upstairs downstairs, round the corner, sit wherever you want! It's like a maze inside but great for all seasons and occasions.
It's very big. It's quite red. Excellent fish and chips.
Traditional English pub tucked away in the heart of tourist London, a very pleasant surprise. Quaint interior and decent food at reasonable prices. The staff were very courteous and helpful. Very good indeed.
Had a group Xmas lunch, it was a lovely atmosphere, the place is really quirkly and lovely, we sat at a big table on lovely comfy chairs and the staff were very lovely and helpful, courses were served on time hot and tasty. Really lovely place
Perfect, everything very correct. The somewhat high price
Kind and quick service, great location, the food could be better
On the banks of River Thames lies this beautiful pub, people also say Shakespeare visited this frequently, it's between the Southwark cathedral and the Globe Theatre and easily approachable via Southwark bridge and London bridge.
Good basic pub food. Wine good. Loos terrible water or ...... overflowing every where.
Very nice place but it's almost impossible to get a drink. Lack of staff even when it's not crowded.
One of London's top pubs and easily a personal favourite. This pub has multiple bars inside with different areas to sit. There is a terrace overlooking the Thames and an outside drinking area perfect for a boozy brunch.
You receive a warm welcome when you arrive the food i good and very quick once you've ordered and it has a good selection of drinks
More than 6 pound a beer in a plastic glass is not so good, even in London. Good fish&chips
Lovely spot for fish and chips outdoors on the Thames, and we were graced with the Croyden Male Choir, who jumped up and sang a slew of fun ballads while we were there!
Great pub on the Thames. Even better if you manage to grab a seat right by the river. Always very busy which is great. Good choice of beers and food.
Just a factory pub, the old Anchor lost and missed!!
Lovely pub with an amazing view but unfortunatly
I didn't have a great time in the pub. The waitress was unprofessional. I was informed to order drinks using the app which was not working properly and after showing the error I was charged three times with the transactions. No one informed me that the app wasn't working.
will not go back there again ...
One of the most legendary pub in London is two steps from the Thames.
An English atmosphere, a pleasant setting what else?
An address not to be missed !
Lovely place with great food and proper customer service.
My first time in a pub. I was a great atmosphere in there. Nice people, good drinks. The toilets could be cleaner... But maybe this was just a bad toilet day and they are usually very clean ^^ Guess, if I go back to London I'll have another visit. (Plus it is near the Globe <3)
Very spacious and lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff
Nice old place. Don't drink anymore so not been in a while
A pub with plenty of history.
Poor service ordering take away food as no tables available and waited over half an hour for the food to arrive .
But it was tasty.
Function room upstairs very good indeed. Staff excellent food Fab. Not at all touristy or naf, recommended
A nice little pub , restaurant along the Thames , not far from the borough market and you have a choice of London bridge,or the borough station to get you there. Plenty to see , and a lovely walk along the Thames.
A London pub on the river which has kept an old world feel. Get's pretty crowded in the evening.
Inexperienced bar staff, took 30 minutes to get drinks.
Nice Pub, interesting and suprisingly large building.
Contra: the cleaning of the tables, removal of empty glasses and dirty dishes haven't been done
Typical meal, decent price, pleasant pub decor. Suitable for families, generous portions, very nice dessert.
Food here is great and really nice outside area to sit in.
Lovely pub. Reasonable prices. Good view of the Thames in the summer.
Good pub and selection of Beers. Expensive and busy!
This is a great old pub with lots of nooks to tuck yourself away for an intimate pint. There's decent food on offer and a large seating area by the Thames, that currently has it own little bar.
Super nice pup, well located. In summer great terrace and pimm's in the big bucket! Great atmosphere and good location for a stopover.
Cool sprawling pub set over numerous floors. It has good beers on tap and decent pub grub (that some might say tries to hard to be different/interesting). Prices are pretty standard and staff are friendly and efficient. I was there on a Saturday and it had a good crowd but wasn't too busy.
Honestly, it's a tourist trap pub. Very messy, tables are sticky, prices are high, no atmosphere, bartenders are not attentive and serve people who shouts the loudest rather than by who was next.
Standard pub. Busy on a Friday night. I think the reason the so-called 'world famous'fish and chips are famous was because the chips were cold and the fish not very well cooked. Service was almost non-existent. Not value for money. The restaurant area was cold. mid-October isn't a great time to leave all the doors open.
An excellent location. They eat very well, large portions, reasonable price.
Great atmosphere excellent outside area had a great evening
Adequate pub that doesn't have to try too hard - Riverside pubs in central don't have to. Never had a bad pint here.
Beautiful building. Staff and service was fast and polite. Food was delicious. Me and my partner were very pleased and would eat there again! A+++
Nice view. Dishes too fast for unfortunately for their price but definitely will go again
It's a great looking pub but insanely busy at any peak time. Often left to standing outside off the street area.
Lovely building, misleading offering. Check before you settle in. "We don't do sandwiches at the weekend". Not even the 9.50 hot ones?? No sign to tell you this and it wipes out 25% of the menu at the door that had drawn us in. Really annoying as I didn't know this until I'd ordered drinks. Perhaps a little pretense at empathy, caring about your customers or any aspect of life in general from the staff would soften the blow. Best not to hold your breath on that one. Still I guess they have to put up with the stench from those toilets all day, maybe that explains their attitude...
Great place, the outdoors is perfect for sunny day.
Service friendly, sharing dishes are great
Expensive but a pride to be at anchor one of the oldest pub in London.
You will amazed to see round the clock people taking selfies infront of Anchor.
For social gathering a nice and crowded place.
This place was cool. Stopped in with friends because they wanted to check out this historic pub. We didn't order more than a few drinks but some basic items were out of stock. This is understandable since it is a very popular bar.
A great place and really worth a visit. Ate fish and chips which was just fine.
