The outside of the hotel did not look amazing, and the rating was low, so I was not optimistic. I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and maintained well. I guess the renovations they are doing are worth it.

Location, service, and lobby are very nice, sadly you dont sleep in lobby. Rooms are gross, paint is nasty, caulking in bathroom is disgusting. Who wants to shower in a tub the looks like mold was caulked over?

We arrived a little early after our cruise, and one of our party got really sick with the flu. The hotel was gracious enough to rush one of the rooms so they could get in and rest. The lobby is nice. Very clean with an older Art Deco look. That have a bar with a great variety of libations. They even have breakfast available in the next door pizza place. Our rooms were nice. But there was a few issues with our specific room. The air conditioner had an issue with the fan blade that would make a grinding noise when it stopped. Luckily we were so exhausted that it didn't bother us when we slept. One of the bathroom sinks was a little clogged so it took awhile to drain. The TV remote was having issues changing channels as well. These are all easily fixable so I didn't ding them much for it. The room was large, the bed comfortable and it had all the necessary accessories such as fridge, microwave and ice bucket. It was also walking distance to Disneyland. Would stay again.

Friendly staff. Neat and clean rooms. 11 minute walk to Disneyland front gates. Parking is a bit of a mess in the morning, but once night falls you can relocate your car closer to your room.

Stayed for a week during trip to Disneyland and had a great experience. Friendly and professional staff. Fun bar in lobby. Above average room which even had a fenced in patio. Definitely plan on returning.

The Anaheim hotel provides nice clean rooms with refrigerators and microwaves which are super helpful especially with kids! Staff are friendly. Pizza press is in the same building as check in!

This hotel is old, but we've stayed here a few times. Staff is friendly. Pool is huge. Rooms are clean but small. I think the hotel is over priced based on the age of the facilities. UPDATE: Aug 2017. Facilities are being updated. Looks like they are trying to redo the whole property. Current improvements help alot. Showers need help. Will still stay here, great place.

The hotel itself is more than banal, suddenly I find the price really exaggerate, especially as we hear between the rooms, unless you turn on the air conditioning that hides the noise of everything. But my main point is that it's clean. The restaurant on the other hand from breakfast to dinner is a disaster ... I do not wonder where they were formed because there was never any training in my opinion. I came here for the blizzcon, the hotel was ok to sleep. Once again I think it was expensive for what it is.

Great location a short walk from disneyland , room was ok nothing fancy, water pressure was off, had a great view of the fireworks from our room. Lady at the front desk was very nice. Had to call for plunger a guy came up 10-15 mins later and plunged toilet.

First off awesome walk to the park, always a win win. Been staying here for many years and seen new owners come and go, the hotel alone is old but slowly getting updated which I appreciate. Pricing went up but nothing to complain about, But can I say I m loving the new owners and their process to making this hotel fab. The Pizza Press, the beer menu and rooms updated makes me a happy customer. Our family love this place, see you guys soon!

One star for location, zero stars for everything else. Dirty, old, outdated room. Shower didn't appear to have been cleaned, the faucet in it was broken and the water temperature randomly varied between scalding hot, lukewarm, and frigid. The hotel itself, aside from the front, is laid out and looks like an old apartment complex. The TV had a high-pitched whining noise that only went away after about an hour of use. They are currently undergoing renovations of their rooms so I cannot speak for those, but definitely do not accept being placed in a room with a high number (I was in building 600).

Really not impressed with this place at all!! This looks like a very olds 60's motel.. Dilapidated and broken down. They've remodelled the lobby, which looks nice and they have an amazing swimming pool, but the rooms themselves are AWEFUL! they don't have central heat & air, but rather a swamp cooler, so while the rooms are cold, they are also damp & smell very musty! They put some cheap queen Anne style furniture in cheap motel rooms and called it a "hotel"! They have popcorn ceilings, one worn out outlet in the room (no other outlets available), the TV remote didn't work when we first arrived, we got two full size towels to use (in a room that sleeps 4)! But the best part..... When we first arrived and were in the room for a bit, I went to go to bed, but before settling in, I checked the bottom of my feet out of habit.. They were pitch black!! I washed them, thinking I must have stepped on the blacktop barefoot and just forgot. The next morning I got up, took a shower and before we went to leave, I went to put my shoes on and noticed my feet were pitch black again! After I had showered and before stepping one foot out of our room! I realized it was the carpet in our room that was making my feet dirty !!! I demanded that our carpets be cleaned and it literally took all day to even get to our room... It became obvious to me that this place is more concerned about their curb appeal than the overall cleanliness and comfort of the rooms!

I enjoyed my stay at The Anaheim Hotel. The retro ambience is very fun and a great tribute to the time period in which Disneyland was born. The only drawback was the retro plumbing: it took several minutes to get hot water in the shower. Otherwise, it is quiet, relaxing, nice beds, comfortable rooms, excellent bar

LOCATION GREAT, HOTEL ON THE OTHER HAND HORRIBLE SMALL SMELLED LIKE MOLD OUTDATED & DIRTY (NOT A BIG DEAL BUT NO TV REMOTE ALSO) ASKED TO TO GET ANOTHER ROOM DUE TO THE MOLD SMELL BECAUSE MY SON HAS CF & SHOULD BE BREATHING THAT. BUT WAS TOLD BY THE STAFF NO MORE ROOMS WHERE AVAILABLE SO I ASKED IF WE COULD GET A FULL REFUND SO WE COULD STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE AND WAS TOLD NO. SO SPENT ALL THE TIME POSSIBLE AT THE PARK OR THE POOL. OH LOOK OUT FOR THE BUGS IN THE BATHROOM. LAST DAY THERE I ASKED TO TALK TO THE MANAGER WHICH SHE REPLIED THAT I WOULD BE CHARGED ONLY ONE NIGHT WHICH I WAS HAPPY UNTIL I GOT MY CREDIT CARD BILL AND SEEN THAT NEVER HAPPENED SO I CALLED THE HOTEL WHICH THE MANGER SEEM TO BE ALWAYS IN MEETINGS OR OUT OF THE OFFICE. SO I FILED A CLAIM WITH MY CARD ALL TO BE TOLD A WEEK LATER THAT SHE TOLD MY CC SHE NEVER SAID THAT. SO MY ADVICE IS PAY MORE STAY AT THE HOWARD JOHNSON ANAHEIM OR THE FAIRFIELD INN BY MARRIOTT ANAHEIM RESORT WAY BETTER AND CLEANER ROOMS.

Location is key for this place. Just steps from disney. The lobby, bar and restaurant are renovated and great. The rooms however are really outdated. A bit dirty as well. They definitely need renovations. But for the price you get what you pay for. No breakfast included so thats a let down.

It feels like an apartment rather than a hotel
There is a large swimming pool and you can spend it slowly
The depth of the pool is 3ft to 15ft, so don't let the kids go alone.

Cute decor in the lobby and the signage. We were told upon check-in that we would have to move rooms halfway through our stay because of a group coming in, no compensation or offer was given for the upcoming inconvenience. The day before we were supposed to move we inquired at the front desk about what we were supposed to do, we were told that "you're not the only ones" when we mentioned it was inconvenient. We weren't trying to whine simply stating a fact that it was inconvenient. The front desk staff's attitude was a bit rude and we were not impressed. We then requested a late check-out of 4pm to make up for the inconvenience. We were told a request would be put in. Upon returning to our room we received a phone call from the front desk letting us know that we would no longer need to move and the latest check-out they could do would be 1pm. So I guess the way to keep your room here is ask for a late check-out? Put a bit of a damper on the whole experience.

Excellent location, very close to the park entrance which is very important when you're tired at the end of a long day in the parks!!

The rooms are very basic. Ours smelt a bit musty, no change even after having the AC on for a while. We also found some baby shoes under one of the beds, honestly it was a bit creepy. And not very encouraging as to the level of cleanliness of our room. The beds were fine, firm which was good for us. There was great lighting and plenty of USB plugs available.

The pizza restaurant attached to the hotel is excellent. We had it twice in 5 nights. Didn't have the breakfast so no idea what it was like! The pool looked nice we only used the hot tub. It was nice and hot, not lukewarm. Only open until 10 which is unfortunate as Disneyland is open until midnight so a later time would have meant we would have been able to utilize it more often.

All in all probably won't be back as there are other hotels near the park we prefer and have had better experiences in.

We got one of the updated rooms. They are a little quirky, but they are large rooms compared to other hotels in the area. The shower grout could definitely stand to be cleaned. It looks like they tried to silicone over some grime. The tiles on the floor of the bathroom were broken and loose. The rest of the room was really great. There's a large TV with a lot of channels, the wifi streamed YouTube pretty reliably, and the beds were very comfortable. It's a little rough around the edges, but it definitely has its perks. If you're looking for somewhere clean and close to Disneyland that isn't going to break the bank this is a decent place to go.

Its an okay hotel.walking distance from disneyland. The staff at front desk gives a pretty cold vibe. We were at disneyland the entire time. I did not care much about the staff anyway. The room was clean with clean sheets.they also have a laundry room.

Major plumbing problems in two rooms! Poor judgment of hospitality by manager, untrained, unprofessional staff. Mexican maids were the best! They were very helpful and concerned over injured child, not the hotel staff. Horrible experience. No return for us.

The hotel is dated, but charming. Our room wants for new fixtures, but it was clean and the furnishings comfortable. The mid-century modern design is a subtle but effective nod to Disney, and the location is excellent. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Overall, it's a great budget option, and with a little polish and room renovations would easily warrant 5 stars.

We just ate at the pizza press restaurant inside the hotel and loved everything about our meal so much that we went back for lunch the following day!! Best pizza I've had in a long time, theme is very original and service is outstanding!!

Nice front desk staff, very helpful. Nice rooms, the beds were really comfy. Only complaint is the water pressure in the shower, and the temperature fluxuations of the water. Also a very small bathroom, but manageable. Right across the street from the Guardians ride, so a great, quick walk to the park!

This place was cool at first till I got to my room . It said I would have a room with a balcony or patio. Which I did not get either one I got a small as room. All of the with balconies or patios are all under construction that would have been nice to know before booking my room. Then the guy at the front desk at night is a complete A-Hole acts like he is God or something they way he talks to you is just rude. There's no customer service.

Very disappointed, the staff is excellent that's why we have two stars, as for the room it was horrible, as you first walk in there is a stench to the room like 50 years of smoking and they tried to cover it up, tile is cracked all over and mismatched, fixtures we're supposed to be updated tub and shower fixtures for sticking out three quarters of an inch from the tile where Critters in water can damage structure behind the wall, tile below the shower valve has fallen out and it looks like my kids and put it back worst quality of workmanship I have ever seen and a hotel, overspray an inch and a half from the door on the tile, the worst of it is the lighting situation there are two parts of the bathroom the toilet and tub and the vanities there is one switch that turns the light on for both there is not a separate switch for the tub and toilet area, so when I kids want to use the toilet at night we have to turn on one switch that turns the light into the bedroom and wakes everybody up, my wife wanted to take about but she was not able to at night because the light would keep the kids up and we could not get them to bed so no showering or taking a bath after the sun goes down, very disappointed! When we brought our concerns up there was no manager on duty and that we would get a call later, I would expect this at a Motel 6 not here
