Nicest hotel in the area. Top buffet. Cool night club.
Had trouble with one of the machines. Sat for about 20 minutes before someone came then barely got a hi bye and she was gone. No apologies for inconvenience or good luck.
If you like the old slots this is a go to place there are some many new and old machines as far as the eye can see. But they also have roulette and you cant forget about blackjack and texas holdem. 10/10 would go again
We drove from downtown St. Louis all the way there. We used their ATM to get cash to play their machines but right before going inside we weren t let in because our eyes were glossy . We called the managers and they said to wait 20 minutes until the next shift manager will come to go inside. What a scam. I would not recommend going. The door man William and the manager Cole are not professional and should be fired.
Aside from it being super chilly up in the conference rooms, it was a lovely facility for our event!
I like this casino the best out of the local casino.
. no face mask required to go in. socializing with out cover is ok :-\ :) ;}>>
Very nice rooms and appreciatative staff. River front is very nice.
The people there are predominantly not wearing masks, and staff don't encourage or request it. I won't come back until they take the pandemic seriously or Covid is gone.
First, I want to say my husband and I have eaten at Pearl's Oyster Bar at Ameristar Casino in St. Charles, Mo. for years. The full order last night was 2 garlic/cheese bread appetizers (4 slices of bread each) 4 iced teas 3 surf n turf dinners and 1-10 oz sirloin steak dinner. We started eating there over 10 years ago when their fried shrimp dinners were $15.00 and you got 6 nice size shrimp for the price. (an average of $2.50 per shrimp) Last night their price was $25.00 for their fried shrimp dinner and you only get 5 decent size shrimp. (That is $5.00 per shrimp) Last night my husband and 2 friends all ordered the Surf and Turf. You get a really SMALL petite steak and 3 shrimp and 2 sides all for $26.00. I ordered the 10 oz sirloin steak for $23.00. (You get a steak and 2 sides. My husband and I opted for an upgrade to one side for an additional $2.00 for a dinner salad instead of the sides offered-corn on the cob-1/2 cob, rice and beans or grilled asparagus). The quality of the food and the service were good. Ameristar has increased their prices and reduced the portions throughout ALL of their restaurants. One more thing to note, yes, we went on a Saturday night around 7:30 p.m. You would expect this restaurant to be packed. In fact, the hostess stated that you needed a reservation but they had 1 table available for us. During our stay, the restaurant never obtained capacity seating. The restaurant bar and half the tables available were always empty. Ameristar needs to rethink their approach to their customers. The pricing is fine if you are using Casino comps. You will find that the occasional customer or out of town visitor will opted for another restaurant (Outside the Ameristar Casino complex) more budget friendly. As for my husband and I? I think we will start exploring the nice little restaurants and bars along the riverfront from now on.
Awesome casino with a wide variety of games. They have also put in new slot machines. A great place to finish out the night!
Rooms are always nice and very clean! The hotel is beautiful and there are lost of bars or reaturaunts to visit while staying here.
Beautiful casino with so much to offer. Restaurants, bars, gaming and a hotel/spa. Great customer service all around. I really enjoyed my visit.
Free valet parking, lobster dinner buffet, ultimate texas holdem progressive.
I really dislike places that still allow smoking inside. It made my wife and I sickly and didn't stay long. Had a nice meal at the Falcon Diner; only reasonably priced place to eat there. Sure miss the real old time slots that were mostly mechanical. These electronic machines are programed to drain your pockets. OH, they might allow someone to get lucky once in a blue moon.
Pool closed though it was advertised as open on the website. Restaurants hours also vary from the listed hours. My friend revived cold food at Amerisports bar & Grill. I ordered room service and it never came and drinks were a little overpriced. The rooms were nice though and staff was friendly.
I normally enjoy going and playing the slots just about anywhere. But my experience with this casino was not an enjoyable one. I don't think I'll give them anymore of my time.
I went to play the slots. It was fun. Would do it again.
This place is great. Clean rooms, friendly employees, plenty of entertainment. Drink prices are a little high but that's to be expected.
Loved the hotel room, and wide variety of slots on 2 levels.
Ameristar always great !! Clean ,happy , helpful staff!
Went to buffet delicious foor and the atmosphere is incredible
1 is more than I would like to give.Alarms were going off around midnight, 2.23.20, because of an incident in the laundry room. 2 calls were made to the front desk, they said they would not refund us or even give us a discount although the alarm...in our room...was blaring for over an hour. We ended up leaving.
I know they're a big hotel and could care less whether or not they lose our business but the point of going there and spending as much money as we did was for rest and relaxation. Neither of which we recieved. Then terrible customer service on top of it.
The new rooms since Ameristar expanded and added the 25 story hotel are VERY nice with big bathrooms and step down living rooms. MUCH better than Hollywood right accross the river. Casino is great.. Doesn't constantly smell like a cloud of smoke. Get your timing right and you just may see a famous person here. I met Brett Michaels when he stayed here with the rock of love tour buss.
Starting at the lobby it's an amazing looking hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and everything was in great condition! Really enjoyed my stay.
Haven't been here for a long time. Even though many changes in machines/bets, less smokers, still free self-serve sodas and 2nd level really quiet~ not much has changed.
Good casino. And i should know i travel from coast to coast visiting almost all of them
One of my favorite casinos. Great selection of slots - they have most of my favorites! And a good amount of table games.
The buffet is always delicious. They have a Mongolian grill where they cook the veggies and meats of your choice while you wait. They always have a great selection of meats at the carving station, and a wide choice of side dishes. Their dessert station has the most extensive selection in the St Louis area!!
too much smoke and machines dont pay well and free spuns are sorry and short.
Well I lost my money pretty quick. So that doesn't make a woman happy.
Decent set up with okay payouts; as of today, smoking is permitted, masks encouraged but not required, and they are open 24/7.
Outstanding event space with excellent staff and food.
Ate at the buffet which was huge. Everything was fresh and replenished promptly. The steak was cooked to perfection and very tender. The only item I didn't care for was the boiled shrimp. It was overcooked and lacked flavor. The staff was very efficient in clearing the used plates promptly.
My favorite casino in the St Louis area clean, good food, loose slots
Beautiful rooms and a fun place to blow off some steam!
It was clean people were friendly water was nice... unfortunately there was a storm and I could use pool wish I could have been given a day pass for a different day for the troubles. Pedicure was okay
ARA SPA
A LUXURY ESCAPE IS JUST MOMENTS AWAY
Went to Ameristar for a work summit. The conference rooms were nice with plenty of outlets to charge electronics. The food was decent enough for a conference and everything was very clean.
I attended an event here. The place looks great, nice casino, lots of restaurants. But the escalators going upstairs to the convention center were disgusting looking. Makes the whole place look bad. A real eye sore. But other than that place was great. And they've probably cleaned them by now, but that was just my experience.
Easy access from our hotel with all the construction going on. Was a nice casino but they've taken away alot of games since the last time I was here. Was disappointed to see the large electronic roulette table was gone since all the tables were pretty well full the whole time I was there but all in all was a decent casino
Nice, pretty large, very smokey and seemed as though if you were not getting $4 or $5 a spin, you were not winning. I would give it another try if I am in the area.
The rooms are nice and spacious. Super clean and comfy feel. Great amenities like a pool. Spa if you are so inclined.
I always enjoy gambling even when I'm losing. Overall people wore their masks and it was just enough people inside where it didn't seem over crowded. Staff very helpful.
I usually love this Casino. Since Covid-19 they have the same machines closed and don't rotate.
Ameristar hotel rooms were spacious, clean and had luxury finishes. Bottle Neck Blues bar was fun but too loud of music where you could not hear the person next to you. Ara pool was clean, the bar tenders were friendly, the chicken pesto flat bread was excellent for lunch. The casino itself I wish would have a non smoking section that you could get to without walking through the smokers.
Trash cans are full and machines are outdated and dirty
Besides losing money. Its a great gambling atmosphere.
Ameristar has the best atmosphere.....but there machines are really tight right now....I lost more money than I care to say last night....it took almost 100 dollars to get a bonus ....ridiculous...
The cigarette smoke was disgusting. Will never go back!!
Stayed here for a conference (wouldn't be my first choice if I was visiting St. Charles). There are plenty of amenities and the conference and meeting space was large and easy to get to from the rooms. Casino floor was largely slots but still plenty of table games. The rooms were large and spacious. Mine had 3 TVs. You can also get a view of the Missouri River. It's also very close to the adorable Historic St. Charles. I would spend more time in that area if I could.
I stayed at the hotel. I did not gamble. The room didn't have a refrigerator. We had a babies bottle that needed to b warmed.
BED BUGS!!! STAY AWAY!! We woke up and found bed bugs in our bed!! The hotel staff did absolutely nothing to help us out- basically "sorry out of luck" was the response. We spoke to a supervisor (useless) who passed the buck up to a manager. The manager said there was nothing they could do besides moving us to a new room. Had to throw away $100 pillow and my clothes and they refused to compensate any of it or the cost of the room. Terrible experience. Stay anywhere else!!
Fun and we didn't lose all of our money. However, we were misguided twice as to where the elevator was because one of them was out of order. After much searching, I was able to find a working elevator as my Grandmother was in her wheelchair.
I had a very nice time while I was there. The food and drinks were great. The casino was nice and clean, staff was very fast and helpful. A desk outside of the casino to get a card would have been nice.
The place is an ash tray. It smells of smoke so bad it's hard to breathe. The staff isn't friendly at all anymore and this is heavily due to the ridiculous mask requirements while people still stand shoulder to shoulder with each other. Ventilation is needed drastically to clear the smoke from the building, and it would also help with removing flu and viruses out of the air as well for those who care about that type of thing. You know, the weak and fragile snowflakes of the world.
The games are still the same so that's a plus.
If your looking for a great place to go for a romantic getaway, or an anniversary, this is it. They have all you need inside you will never have to leave the building. All in one ... Nightclub, restaurants, gaming, spa, casino, shopping and more! A must for all to experience at least once.
Casino very clean. All staff friendly. Need put prices on menu thats in room. Over all better atmosphere than Hollywood Casino.
Would have given 5, but the new management has lowered standards. Place looks dirty now and just doesn't have the same feel. I haven't tried a hotel room since the take over, so I can't speak on that part.
After a very bad experience at the st. Peter's location less than one hour before we arrived here, this location knows how to treat their customers. Service and food was great.
Ameristar Great Plains good hotel The slots weren't saying no
The rooms were very nice, but our floor smelled like cigarette smoke. A con was that a microwave was not included in the room but we had 3 TVs. There was also a lot of nice amenities like a free pool and free wifi.
Love this hotel & casino!! Beautiful rooms with great views!! Nice restaurants and friendly staff
I have fun at this Casino often, there are lots of slots for people to play some very old and very new. Nice selection of Keno and Video Poker machines. Great players club benefits!
It was better. Don't love the new slots. Hate how much smoke but that's not the casino's fault.
Nice to stay over night but dont think you'll hit a big one here super tight machines
Laura was quick in response to any and all issues we had with our stay. She handled everything very professionally and it was a pleasure getting to work with her. Thank you for a great experience!
I want to give a big thank you to Sammantha and Jody for making our wedding perfect. Also the team was awesome to turn our photographers camera in that had a lot of our wedding photos on it thanks again..
Not Vegas......But at least not some run down place
First time at a casino ever in my lifetime I won a jackpot on a slot machine here. This will probably never happen again and I'll never have to go to another casino seeing as though my luck probably wore off right after lol.
But the atmosphere is clean with staff whom clean the area and the staff is great. This is smoking area so super comfy for smokers
Cool casino. The actual casino area is a bit smaller than I expected. The majority of the building is restaurants and the hotel. But really good boot
It's the most wonderful and luxurious place to be and play I enjoy Ameristar I just don't get there enough but the one I do go it's very respectable and like I said very pleasurable I give him a 4 stars
The lines to get into the casino are way too long and it is hard to coordinate your way around the casino floor. I had trouble finding my way to the restrooms. It was a fun experience all together and the people there are awesome. I'd come back more if I didn't live in illinois.
A very nice casino hotel, with convenient parking, excellent guest services and a sort of Vegas feel without Vegas. A unique, beautiful property set on the banks of the Mississippi just on the out skirts of St.Louis,MI. They have a spa, restaurants shows and a very large gaming floor, even for the non smoker. Very nice winning odds and a good gaming experience.
The buffet was terrible on New Year's day. Thanksgiving (and I heard Christmas) buffet were very good, but I'm never going back on New Year's Day.
Better than Hollywood, I can actually get my own soda
It's a good time! The newness and excitement has faded over time. But it could just be I'm getting older.
The facility was beautiful but we were disappointed by the lack of staff. The line to get a card to begin playing was ridiculously long with only one girl working. We were there for New Year's so it seems as if crowds should be expected yet restaurants were closed, restroom facilities not cleaned up/out of supplies. We enjoyed our visit and the employees we dealt with were friendly and helpful.
My husband and I booked two nights (Friday 7/3 and Saturday 7/4) for my birthday on 7/2/2020. The room on the 4th floor was too hot to sleep comfortably, even though the thermostat was set on 60, some of the electrical outlets and some of the lamps, as well as the exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work, the mini fridge was ridiculously small and part of it was missing, therefore further limiting its capacity, there was no microwave in the room and not only was there cheap 1-ply toilet paper, there was only ONE roll in the room, so we had to go to the desk to ask for more on the 2nd day! All of this for the bargain price of $259 per night plus tax!! In the casino, they only had ONE person walking the floor to take refreshment orders, so if you were on a hot machine and wanted a drink at the same time, you instead had to make a decision as to whether to stay with the machine or go get a drink at the bar. We ate at 4 of the 7 restaurants and the food was okay, but not great for the prices paid. The most positive comment I can make is that the cleaning staff in both the hotel and the casino were quite pleasant and efficient.
Nothing particular to complain about, had a great experience. Good location close to other St Charles nightlife, which is very different from St Louis nightlife. Very smokey in the casino though, be prepared to change clothes after every visit, as it permeates everything you're wearing.
Staff helpful and kind, rooms clean and modern. Conference center well organized. Casino was great also.
I had a very close call here! This is a beautiful place! #pinkandpurplearemybest #andrealived
