Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles Review

This review is for the Falcon Diner. The food is really good. I recommended the " Loosen Your Belt French Toast". The issue with this place is not the food, it's getting your food to the table.

Our server was incredibly nice, and attentive. Unfortunately, it took almost 45 minutes to get our food. She told us they were short in the kitchen. Then, we saw a 3 top table that was seated after us, get their food very quickly, which left us puzzled.

Great food, but service can be sketchy.

The place is little too far to drive to it but its worth the trip. I like it so much.
Very big place. You get to play slots any where there ,there's so many machines you choose any you like.
The place is two level , up stair is no smoking perfect for ppl who don't smoke.
I win there very often, restorant very clean and resesnabl prices.
Very clean , nice atmosphere, lots of ppl. High level or rich ppl living in area.
Casino always busy any time you go.

Great location just across the river. Awesome new players promotions. Table games set up very nice and two floors of slots. I'm very impreseed

Great casino. Kept on winning at the slot machines. Beautiful place. I was on a trip with my mom from Detroit, MI to Laredo, Tx and decided to stop. My mom won $100 dollars on the first machine she played then I won $68 then $70, $150, $85. A while later my mom won $500 playing Monopoly. In total we took about $1,300. We were there for about 3 hours.

I come here once or twice a week with $300 or $400, they don't even pretend anymore they just take it. I think I would have more fun just flushing my money down the toilet. If someone leaves a message saying sorry you didn't win this time, no, it's every time. Take take take empty spin after empty spin. The tightest slots in all of Saint Louis. Awful. Just awful.

Stopped in to cash in my change bucket; they're always very courteous and helpful. I took a couple hands of Blackjack, and was perfectly happy with the game.

The staff and facilities were excellent! The food at the buffet was well prepared and my family enjoyed it all!

Slots weren't paying worth anything, but card tables were great

I stayed at the hotel it was nice and very clean. Had a great view 25th floor.The food was to expensive good service and the portions were good also. The staff friendly overall had a great time. Would recognize this casino and resort

A very nice casino, and the hotel rooms are very nice (room temp didn't get very cool) but the prices of the rooms and restaraunts are super high priced... The garage and casino elevators are super congested... But still a very nice casino/hotel....

Players service was rude, they give you nothing for points until you reach 750 points. They make you feel like if your not a high roller they could care less about you. I've been to casinos in Vegas & colorado never had a casino staff be so rude and nasty. I'd never go back.

Very friendly service, great food and fun, double queen suite was very roomy. Only thing missing for a place this size is a market. (Needed safety pins) I'll be back

I enjoyed my stay it was relaxing, and will be visiting again. You all should be the 5 star hotel. But you get 5 stars from me.

First time playing on this casino and it was awesome. More selection of games and more excitement. I will go back. Atmosphere wasn't too bad I went on the weekday. Not crowded as much so you could get to play your favorite machine with ease.

The buffet (Landmark) is usually good. Sunday brunch is my favorite. The buffet is so wide spread there is no way to eat everything you want to try.

Went to the Fisherman's Keep buffet with the wife and in-laws for a birthday dinner on 2/29/16. Fantastic food and service as always. A constantly full glass of water keeps me happy.

It's a nice casino with decent variety of games and food. It's easy to get to and pretty well kept. I will say though you should be prepared for the cigarette smell.

Lots of fun food, gambling, the sports bar is my favor place to spend time with family and friends.

Service is great! Wish I could win sometimes though. The location is close to work but a little distance from home.

Machines are so tight you can't even play for awhile. Cost of food has gone up and you get less.

They are a casino. They just don't cater to the people in true saint louis fashion. I got a fruit fly in my drink which was expensive and tasted different every time I ordered, the nightclub is bogus, the machines are too tight, the non-smoking section is upstairs, the restaurants are dated and expensive, the players club doesn't have any free play. If you guys only knew what a REAL casino looks like! By the way, smoke rises, so you may want to rethink your floor plan. Not impressed. You should really think about a rooftop lounge at very least!

Rooms are very clean and staff are very polite and helpful. Rooms are also quite elegant and spacious. Hosted an event here and the food was also very good and rooms were spacious. Of course, I lost money at the casino, but that's par for the course for me.

Love going here; especially for the arcades with my son. It's a great way to have some inexpensive fun and some great bonding time.

We had a great time! Much needed adult time and it was so pretty

Air conditioning went out overnight the next day the fire alarms went off and we had to wait outside in the heat. The hotel so understanding that they gave us $40 off of our sweet. Not very good customer service I would say.

Only visited the casino but the night was lucky for me. I played on a large variety of machines and enjoyed every minute of it up until I had to leave due to smoke inhalation issues. There were a lot of people but it wasn't too crowded and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Hard to recommend staying for long if you're sensitive to smoke as it's very strong even in the non-smoking areas.

I came here for dinner recently. It was neat just to walk through the building and see the architecture. The meal was a little pricey but the service was excellent. I would recommend going even if you don't gamble.

We arrived at Ameristar in St. Charles at approximately 4:10 pm. Checked in and was told the rooms were not ready yet. After 2 1/2 hours later. Rooms are still not ready!! Check in is at 4:00 pm. When asking staff about why the rooms were not ready they really did not seem to care. Never have I ever went to a hotel and rooms not be ready by the check in time. Update: so we just got into one room at 8:10, so 4 hours later we have one of our rooms. Still waiting on the second room. Sure hope it doesn t take them another 4 hrs to clean that room.

It's no Vegas mega casino, but it's pretty darn nice for a market the size of the STL metro area. Good selection of pricey, but pretty good restaurants. Parking is free and plentiful, even on busy weekends. The casino is nice and doesn't reek of smoke like some smaller casinos. The attached hotel and spa are *very* nice. All in all a pretty great little hotel and casino.

It is the second largest casino in MO, so you can figure... They have a cafe, a sports bar, a piano bar, a sea food restaurant, a buffet, a pasta and meat restaurant, a club, a spa, a hotel with a swimming pool, oh also a casino (LOL) and probably a lot of more stuff I cannot even remember right now. You can spend a whole week inside there for sure.

The family and I went to the buffet for Sunday brunch. It was wonderful as always. The dessert bar has an fun array of choices. I love their brunch buffets because you get to the breakfast foods with the lunch/dinner stuff. Definitely worth the cost, at least for me

Lots of different slots, we had a good time. I did smell like smoke after, but there is a non-smoking section that we could have played at. The Falcon Diner has the best salads!

Loved the layout of the drive in entrance! Real Vegas feel throughout with several choices for dining. Pricey but very convenient. Hit the blackjack tables after dinner and wasn't disappointed! Dealer was friendly and engaging. Our table had a blast!

Amazing rooms!! Great place to have a mini vacation away from home....hotel, restaurants, and gambling all in one spot.

The hotel and room was beautiful. The food at the restaurants was dreadful. The view from my room was great.

Tonight, the Steelers are playing the Dolphins. We re sitting at the bar, watching the game (upstairs at the non-smoking bar), not drinking alcohol. Wife wanted coffee, so we went to the machine, as we often do and when we returned, our bartender (remember, we re NOT drinking alcohol) made a point of letting us know that he also has free drinks as well. He mentioned hot chocolate - like I m gonna pass THAT up!

Expected the tiny cup, which would have been fine. But nope. He left the bar and came back with a large cup of chocolate-goodness AND topped off with a cherry and whip cream!

Dave Stark was Personable, friendlier than just a bartender doing the job; truly a great experience!

The machines are machines to us, so, it s the service and friendliness that will bring us back!

Went there to check out the casino. The 2 story floor looks great with a bunch of lighting, but they do allow smoking in the casinos. As soon as you walk onto the floor you get slammed with cigarette smoke. I am use to cigarettes from people smoking at events and bowling alleys but even I was feeling my chest hurt from the smoke and I've never had that happen before. They do have a small no-smoking section at the end, but you have to walk through the smoking section to get to it.

I didn't think smoking was allowed, but it reaked so bad we left and I almost got sick

Normal Casino. Smells like smoke and has nothing special about it. They need to get with the times and start attracting younger audiences by banning smoking.

The food is horrible the atmosphere is horrible customer service is horrible the bathrooms were filthy just a bad experience!

We always go play $100.00 worth visit while in troy, mo. you win some you lose some . Don't go if you can't afford to lose is what I live by!

Normally I have a good experience here. But this time they gave me a 2 queen bed room. I requested a king bed. They would not accommodate me.

Was there for a lunch with relatives. Buffet seem decent, had good selection of food and then we played the slots for a little while

Dinner buffet has good selections but the plateware and silverware you use always seem very dirty, and I don't dig that at all. I had to go through 2 stacks of plates and somewhat embarrass myself to get a clean plate and eventually just had to wipe it off with my shirt I was wearing bc it was still kind of greasy. Not worth the 15$/person for sure. Go to Golden corral.. better prices, cleaner plates.

As musch as I wanted to give you a 5 star rating, I haven't seen it yet. First of all, we had to wait 30 minutes in the lobby for our rooms. Because it was a error made by the staff. Then after we got our rooms, which was different because they gave our room away, the room was dirty from the last guest. Not good. So after driving 14 hours, you can see why I can't give you a 5 star. By the way, the water fountain has one sprayer that doesn't work.

Rooms are very nice. They allow smoking in certain rooms and throughout the casino. The deli inside the casino is delicious!

My all time favorite place to stay! Clean and comfortable rooms with an awesome swimming pool! Very friendly staff. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

Visited with friends last week and we stopped here twice, nice place!! Lots of penny slots, which is my favorite. Many restaurants to choose from, although we didn't eat there. Polite and courteous staff, I would definitely go back..and next time we'll dine there as well!

Its a fun place to go but the smoke is horrendous! I bet most of those people don't smoke in their house!

Clean. Staff is nice. Courteous. Beer during the day was only available on the gaming floor. Smokey in there. More air handlers!

Shower didn't work, the maintenance man spent two hours (no exaggeration) trying to fix it while I watched TV. They offered to transfer us to a different room but we needed to get ready for a wedding and didn't have time to shuffle around.

Two thumbs down for the oyster bar! They don't have steamed oysters on the menu. The food took a long time and the quality wasn't the best. Way over priced for what we got.

I never win. Lol but still have fun going. I wish they would put smoking upstairs instead of downstairs. You have to walk thru the smoke to go up to non smoking area.
