What you pay is not what you get. Staff are not helpful: no one showed me where the room was, i had to guess and find it myself; the next morning when i asked, the guy at front desk told me to walk 600 meters to catch the bus to Resort World Sentosa and the next day i knew that the hotel shuttle bus go traight there. There is no entertainment around this hotel.

The room was beautiful. I stayed at the courtyard suite with private jacuzzi. The room was lovely and perfect for a couple to enjoy their stay there. Its a great place to walk around too at night.
Check in took an age and when we reached the desk we were told our room wasn't ready. Room good once we were in with some decent food on room service menu.
It was overall a nice experience at the couple suite. We get to enjoy peace and exclusivity close to nature. Our most favorite is having direct access to the pool (this is really a plus for us lounging around between the pool and our bath tub in the open bathroom). The least that we enjoyed is the loud noise from grass cutting in the morning. The roosters can also get really loud at dawn but since we chose a place close to nature, it's fine for us.
The surrounding was amazing, full of greenery, peacocks roaming free and the air was fresh as expected. Location was pretty decent as well, with a ten minute walk to the heart of Sentosa and 5 minutes to the monorail station. The staff at the Shutters restaurant was accommodating and generous, food was also great. The icing on the cake was the housekeeping team, especially Yuki. She was fun, delightful, cheery and also very accommodating, trying her best to be helpful and generous with her time. Overall a great stay and greater experience.
The villa is awesome but you can get a better deal at iChangi app. Include breakfast and an awesome venue to have a small birthday celebration with a few close friends.
The exterior of the resort seems to be quite well maintained however can't say the same for the interior. It was quite a disappointing stay for a 5 star resort.
Very impressive hotel, very good, we can be sure that staying here gets comfort and tranquility. always want to come back here and this hotel provides a shuttle bus
Our stay left a bad taste in the mouth due to the following:
- We got our room very late at check-in, was abt 3pm. There was no cot in there as requested upon booking so had to call to get one in
- While i appreciate the cake gesture for my wife's bday when I arranged it during the booking months ago, i asked the guy when he delivered at the door if there was a candle in the box already and he said 'everything is in there'. There was just a cold cake.....
- When she was at the spa, the steam bath broke down and she had to wait for it to be fixed, which again left a bad taste in her mouth.
- The room service food we ordered across the stay was cold and tasted terrible.
- That early evening we went down swimming and when my wife went into the jacuzzi pool, she was cut by broken glass in the pool that left a deep gash in the fold of her toe.
- That night we went to the Tier Bar and we were the only ones there but i had to go out or stand up to get the sole bartender's attention to order each time coz he was more interested in watching football.
- The next day when we were finally checking out on Sun, when i had paid the bill and was waiting for the itemised bill, the front desk chap finally asked after a long silence if i wanted a copy of the bill.
- the hotel is not stroller or elderly friendly either so take note.
So net-net what was meant to be a special stay for my wife's birthday left her with a cut on her toe and a bad experience to boot. The staff however are awesome but if you have to pay this price, avoid it.
Covered car park is at the basement but too small. Rest of the parking is on an open carpark. If you are visiting for an event and Not early, I suggest you leave it to the Valet.
Loved the villa and the privacy. Friendly staff. Good service. Especially when we keep taking the buggy car in and out. no complains but great smile on their face.
In the last few months I have booked stays at Amara Sactuary for several of my friends. I personally visited the hotel to make sure that the accommodations met my high standards. In one case I booked the One Bedroom Villa, in the second case I booked the Deluxe Room. I also had a tour of the Couples Suite with access to pool. Below are PRO's and CON's of my experience at Amara Sanctuary.
PROS: Location, location, location! You can not have a better location in Sentosa, imho. Amara Sanctuary is perfectly located near the beach, parks, cafes, transport (monorail) and nearby attractions. There is also a free shuttle bus services to Vivo City.
PROS: Accommodations: 1.The One Bedroom Villa with the private pool - I must say that it was gorgeous and so so private. It felt like a villa in Bali. It is the perfect accommodation for a honeymoon getaway or that long awaited staycation. The pool and the lush tropical surroundings were very romantic. The bedroom and the living room were separate bungalows around the pool - nice design element.
2.The Deluxe Room: I must say I was blown away by the size of the room - bigger than most rooms that I have seen in hotels in SG. The design of the rooms - simple, modern and super clean. The room had everything necessary for a comfy stay.
3. Couples Suite with access to pool - though my friends didn't stay in this room, I must mention it - if you are looking for a romantic stay with a semi-private pool at your doorstep - this is it. The spacious suite is located in the colonial building, below the main building of the hotel. It is simply gorgeous and elegant. If you can't decided between the Villa and the Suite, I would chose the Suite. The view from the pool is breathtaking - surrounded by lushness of Sentosa.
PROS: Family Time: the hotel is perfect for family getaways. There are many attractions for kids, steps away from the hotel. (KidsZania, Universal Studio, Madame Tussauds, and many park playgrounds) The hotel has a pool that's perfect for kids or couples. The views from the pool are breathtaking.
PROS: Impeccable Housekeeping: I was really impressed by how clean the rooms were - spotless bathrooms, rooms, textiles. Water was plentifully replenished every day - which is useful in Singapore. The housekeeping team was very attentive and friendly.
PROS: Dining: the variety and quality of food was outstanding at breakfast! Dinners at Shutters was also a good experience. My friend from New York was raving about burgers. Also, must mention the wonderful and friendly staff at the restaurant. Thelma is a rockstar!
CONS: Overall, I have very little cons. I would call these contsructive suggestions.
1. Both times that I have booked stays for my friends, these were intended as gifts. I asked the front desk staff not to show the receipts of the entire bill to them. (Especially given the fact that I prepaid the entire stay in both times) The staff took notes, nodded in agreement and promised not to show the entire bill. However that was not successful in the first stay. The second time I intercepted the check out process, to make sure the bill was not shown. My suggestion is to improve the communication system of comments between guests and staff, in order to make sure that everyone is on the same page.
2. Having been to Amara Sanctuary several times, I have noticed shortage of buggies, which leads to an increased wait time. This is definitely an area that should be improved.
*Lastly, I would strongly recommend to book this hotel through their own website - the rates are actually better on the website itself. I have not had a good experience booking through third party websites - there was an annoying technical glitch that made me lose the reservation.
One last honorable mention is the excellent customer service experience by Norasidi Noor, the Reservations Manager at Amara Sanctuary. Mr Noor was exceptional in helping to resolve the technical glitch + answering all my questions and helping me to create a wonderful experience for my guests. Thank you so much, Sidi!
Booked a courtyard suite for my parents for their birthday Staycation. Room is ok with a jacuzzi at the back. Jacuzzi is filthy with dead insects floating. Fridge was not stocked at all for both nights as what was mentioned on their website. You have an expresso machine but don't provide fresh milk. Some cheap creamer is provided. First day of stay keycard could not be swiped as their rfid was malfunctioning at the front. Happened again on the second day. Was locked out of the room for 25 minutes before the security came to help. Management is poor as no service recovery was done and they love to argue with their guests. Not what I expected from a 5 star hotel. I run a travel agency and will not recommend this hotel to my high profile clients who fly in to Singapore from all over the world. This hotel should be avoided at all cost.
The short stays twice were great and impressive. Seeing uncaged peacocks roaming around were so down to earth. The picture attached were the foot prints of these peacocks on the glassy roof top
My wife and I plus our NY based daughter stayed 5 nights in one of your 2 bedrooms Courtyard villas with private lap pool in July 2019. We enjoyed our time so much that my wife and I plan to return the next time we visit Singapore and will recommend the resort to anyone that is after a quiet place to stay away from busy Singapore proper. The rooms were spacious with 4 posters beds. Rooms and the pool were clean daily. Linens and towels were change too. Mini bars and the espresso coffee machine replenished daily. And so were the bathroom amenities. Golf carts were available to take guests from the lobby to their villas. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast that I ever had with a large of collection of Western and local offering. Free hourly courtesy bus to Universal World, the Casino and Vivo City Shopping centre. The friendly and helpful resort staff were second to none. My wife and I felt like royalty during our stay. We promise to be back.

Very nice facilities and resort, with three pools and amazing greenery for that staycation getaway. However, resort feels understaffed and could be given a paint job!
This is also located very close to Resorts World Sentosa and is a beautiful place to stay at. The service is good and the proximity to all the Sentosa Island attractions is also walking distance. The staff is also very helpful and cooperative and always willing to make small changes as per the convenience of the customers.
location is excellent. we booked the courtyard suite and I dont think its worth the money for a dirty and old place like this. room service barely arrives and buggy is next to useless. I have to say however, the restaurant food and service was extremely good. toilet does not have a lock and there isn't a bathtub. no facilities except pool.
It s very disappointing conversation I had with their hotel operator on the phone. I was much looking forward to staying at this resort for a birthday celebration and called for more details before booking online, however the male operator was not only rude but also extremely impatient for my enquires. He interrupted me and almost hung up on me for god s sake!! What a insult!! Maybe this hotel doesn t bother training their entry level staff or simply randomly hire uneducated people on the street.
On paper this place looks like a gorgeous getaway, but once there the experience is frightening. In just 24 hours I was attacked twice by huge insects, and had an eye close over. Their restaurant, Shutters, is beyond disappointing. There is no way they should be charging those prices for poor quality food. The menu, which is also the in-room dining menu has less than five vegetarian options, all of which were disappointing. Then in our room it took three calls and nearly 30 minutes to get something as simple as a comb. You d hope for great views on top of a hill on Sentosa, but the every aspect looks over the roof and glass panels which haven t been cleaned in years. We booked spa treatment, but ended up cancelling when no one was present a the spa reception. In my opinion this hotel would best to half their room rate, or need a complete overhaul.
Was transported to a place that doesn't feel like I was in Singapore. Happy to see how they had blend the old structure with a modern resort vibes to have a wonderful stay at Amara
Nice, quiet environment with accommodation catered to different needs. Not too convenient location, have to take shuttle bus out to RWS or Harborfront MRT.
