Beautiful gardens and a great day out. Food is expensive but you can bring your own picnic. The poison garden tour was fancinating. And in spring the orchard is filled with beautiful blossoms.

Fantastic day out. Good for families and adults - something for everyone. Lovely gardens with quite a few interesting features. Have been several times over the years and every time I go back the garden has grown and improved. Fantastic staff who are willing to help and give advice. Disabled scooters available for hire which we used all day. Worth booking them in advance though as we were lucky and got last two. Most of the garden is accessible for wheelchair/ scooter users. Walking disabled may find the steep incline to the top walled garden a bit hard going so worth pre-hiring a scooter if you think it could be a problem. Toilets very clean and plenty of disabled ones too. We brought a picnic lunch and found there were plenty of cosy places to sit and eat. Alternatively there is a well supplied restaurant/cafe.

Lovely place to visit. Lots to see and experience. Great for a day out on your own or with family and friends. I'd recommend a visit. Lots of walking involved. Beautiful flowers, landscape and scenery. I would advise to look online to see if there are any special offers available for the day you want to visit. Discounts could apply. Alnwick Gardens is not part of the National Trust. Enjoy your day out :-)

We wanted to visit the gardens but like a few others we noticed we must have had trouble understanding the booking system on Alnwicks website and we ended up booking the castle grounds by mistake after queuing in a somewhat awkwardly socially distanced queue we got informed that we had the wrong tickets and would have to go back to a different entrance. However after standing in the wrong queue for 20 minutes we were then nearly 30 minutes past our allocated time slot and as I have a disability that prevents me from standing for long periods we felt it wasn't worth going and trying to sort it out.
Social distancing and Covid measures are fairly good but the Gents toilets were a joke, one was out of action, and the person at the front of the queue didn't understand the rules they had set out, hence the hold up. I think a member of staff at the entrance of each set of toilets policing and guiding people would be a better system.
Also a fast track entrance to all sections of the estate for Disabled people and a clearer booking system on the website that explains that a castle and grounds ticket is not the gardens as we heard of a few that had made the same error so it wasn't just us.

Not a nice place to go , the cost of the ticket does not justify visiting this place. Only good thing was the poison garden and that also was not that well toured. It's a large group and in such a small place. Can't even see what plant he's explaining.

Great day out.. don't feel pressured in going to the castle, we spent the whole day in the gardens. Take some time to go on the swings and Don't eat before you go, fish and chips there were amazing and great value

Excellent place to spend a few hours. Bring a picnic, or buy some food from the well-stocked cafeteria and look on over the magnificent fountains in the middle of the gardens. We bought family membership, which you get back in 3 visits between 2 adults (and get free parking with). Great place for young children and adults alike!

Bad enough that we can't get dogs in the castle, but to be charged the same price to see the gardens!!!!! total rip off and very disappointed, it's about time tourist attractions changed their attitude as 95% of tourists are dog owners, that way you'd get more people coming

What an amazing place. Perfect for none garden lovers as well and those with green fingers. The staff and friendly and knowledgeable. There is so much to see and do and there is lots for the kids to do too. There are some new addition and they are stunning.
Fine for a picnic or for and meal in the cafe and the shop is extensive and lovely.
The massive tree house is great too, fee entry and has a cafe too. The views from the top are beautiful. Loved it .

This is an incredibly romantic location; the perfect spot for a date. There are areas to sit & enjoy the garden, & what a beautifully tended garden it is! A must-see for rose enthusiasts. The whole place seemed to be built with natural lighting in mind, making the golden hour before sunset even more ideal for photos/selfies. The Poison Garden can be found within, which is offered as a free guided tour as the plants are both interesting & remarkably dangerous.

Overpriced

Overpriced
Been a few times now and find it boring and doesn't take long to look around
Go to Wallington or Cragside for better value

Brilliant The Winter Lion was magical and a little bit emotional, the faces of the children watching were a delight. We live locally and often pop into the gardens, there is always something different to see

Love the Alnwick Garden! We have a a Friend's membership and go regularly. There's loads to do for both adults and children (although some cost extra such as the Forgotten Garden mini golf, which is a lot of fun!). They are also beginning the construction of Europe's largest children's play area too!

Fantastic gardens and very friendly and helpful staff. I am disabled and they had a (prebooked) mobility scooter ready for when I arrived. The downside was the prices in the gift shop, but that is quite the norm I guess.
