Great fun watching the fountains which are impressive enough to cover the entrance fee. Even in the winter months there's a good walk around in the gardens. All that even before you visit the tree house for lunch - just Wow! Food is impressive too!

The gardens were beautiful unfortunately the Castle doesn't cater for disabled people. My friend was in a wheelchair and could not get access to the castle. I was asked if she couldn't manage the steps? That's why she is in a wheelchair. This was really annoying as we purchased a season ticked intending to return. We should have been told about the inaccessibility when we made our purchase. This was really frustrating

For folk interested in gardens, this place is highly over-rated - I recommend a visit to Howick Gardens instead. At Alnwick, the plants in the rose garden and the ornamental garden are well-grown, but as a whole the garden design doesn't work - the central fountain and cascade is spectacular but is rather out of place: the adjacent parts of the garden don't really support it. The Poison Garden is a gimmick - we grow at least 90% of the plants in our own garden, including Monkshood (A. napellus), which the guide told me was the same as Wolfsbane (A. lycoctonum), which I particularly wished to see. Also - the food outlets do not cater for vegans - even the chips are cooked in animal fat.

Very nice garden. Need to go at the right time to see the rest garden and cherry orchard blooms.. lose of fun for little kids to play on the water. Come prepared with extra clothes if you want the kids to enjoy the water

Went to Alnwick gardens for the Xmas light display.....very disappointing and not worth the money paid. Maybe it would be ok if you were going to visit Santa with kiddies , would not go again. Cafe is over rated and expensive, avoid the watery hot chocolate !!!

Lovely gardens in a lovely part of the world. Clever water features form the centrepiece of the garden, but the walk round is worth it by itself. Another highlight is the garden dedicated to poisonous plants.

Very pretty and a good visit during summer, if you have children you may want to bring a towel and make them wear a swimsuit as there is a lot of water about. If you don't have a child I'd suggest avoiding the water parts off to the right of the gardens as they tend to be crowded with children and young families.

A fantastic place, unfortunately winter for us so a bit dormant on the floral front. A can see this place byING a bit for all the family. Check out the poisons garden, the Bamboo maze and the fountain display. Walk out into the town or if you go in season on to the spectacular Alnwick Castle. All well worth the visit.

Lovely, the gardens are delightful and at the moment reduced numbers admitted makes it much better and allows you to see everything. My advice would be to take yourself a nice picnic and drinks. There are lots of places to sit and eat and relax but the offer of food and drinks is not very good, although did have very nice ice cream and an excellent coffee from a coffee van near the poison garden.

Decent place to take the family if you catch any available events.
Taking the tour with the Augmented Reality smartphone app is probably a must with children, would certainly help keep them entertained.
The Giant bathing in the lake at the entrance is definitely a head turner, and the giant underwear hanging on the washing line adds laughs to the experience.

Great place but initial reception at disabled parking with daughters family dog was very unfriendly . Sent to other car park and very friendlly. Some customer retraining needed for female worker. Also need toilets Ibside garden area

This 2 star does not reflect the landscaping and planting which is truly stunning. However it does reflect what I consider the over commercialisation of what was once a really nice day out. Yes there needs to be attractions to bring in customers but I feel this has been well over done. Add to this rude kids serving in the cafe and staff stepping over used water bottles I feel this place has lost a lot of its charm.

Really different here compared to normal formal gardens. Lots to see and they've put in good social distancing measures. As always with these though you're relying on other ppl to adhere to them.
Cafe is good and they actually have two plus two sets of loos. Outside ones have a one-way system in place.
