I was at the Alma Lodge on 12th March to pay my respects to a family that had lost a very special person. The hotel was very clean the staff very helpful also very sympathetic regarding the situation.

Stayed here on business. The staff were friendly on reception. The rooms and corridors are in need of a bit of TLC but the bathroom was brand new, and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was ok, generally it's a good hotel especially for the price.

Great hotel, friendly staff, nice clean rooms and absolutely superb breakfast - I've stayed at the Alma so many times and it's always been a pleasure. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough, you won't be disappointed.

Went to Alma lodge for a wedding reception. Drinks were nice and reasonable priced. Only gripe was there was no deal for doubles, was just double the price. Room was very nice and spacious. Would recommend.

Had a great evening at this hotel at a sportsman dinner. The speakers were excellent. 3 course meal.was ok. Table serving staff were great. Bar staff were good as well. Seems a popular hotel and guests i spoke to were equally impressed.

The room lacks cabinets and chairs. We stayed for one night because it was not far from the airport and cheaper than airport hotels, therefore it was uncritical. And so it should be borne in mind.

The staff were for the most part professional, helpful and friendly. The downstairs space was comfortable, but please don't get misled by the very positive comments posted online. I had tried to book into an alternative hotel nearby, but it was fully booked. The Alma Lodge seemed to have plenty of accommodation available. My room was small, not very comfortable, and noisy. I had a meal in the restaurant the first night, but for various reasons, decided I would not eat in there the next evening. I prefer to stay at a family-run hotel with traditional values, but you really have to check out the competition, because standards in the chain hotels have improved greatly and they are leaving the independents behind. I'm sorry to say that if I could find a room nearby, I wouldn't stay at the Alma Lodge again.

We had a great meal for our Mum's 80th birthday at the hotel last night. The food and setting were great. One main meal, the chicken, was significantly delayed arriving as the rest of the table were halfway through their main course. The coffee served at the end of the meal was cold but was replaced with fresh hot coffee very quickly after we told the waiting staff.
Unfortunately there were two weddings in function rooms with very loud music at each end of the ground floor. This made it difficult to talk to the rest of our group in the bar after the meal and also to sleep once we had gone to bed.
However, the staff, accommodation and food were good.

A warm & friendly welcome After foolishly struggling with luggage receptionist said had they known (disabled); help/assistance would have been available. Staff took all my things to room & assured me anything at all ring reception. On leaving they remembered & had everything carried out. Very cheerful pleasant & most helpful. Dining room good eve meal. Quite good b'fast too. Would stay again.

Really nice hotel with very friendly staff. Our first room was facing the main road and really loud, but they were very helpful and understanding so we switched rooms and got a really nice triple room. The restaurant on Saturday night was really good, breakfast was OK. Unfortunately due to Covid a smaller menu, but still everyone did their best to make the best out of it. Would recommend it and come back!
