Lady in reception very rude. I called for bedroom reservation and as soon as I said that I was calling from a training company they said they were not interested.. I would definitely take my business somewhere else

Very warm welcome by riendly & helpful Receptionist April. The staff were all attentive, very polite, & respectful. Quite diverse too. Quite a few languages are spoken by staff which is a plus for tourists. We were in Manchester for a funeral & the staff made our stay absolutely hassle free. Stairs were a bit inconvenient for my wife. But there's a chair half way up on the landing. Massive car park. A Ramp for the disabled with large push buttons to open doors. Spacious & very clean rooms & bathroom. The room door needs to be locked by key though. So it is easy to walk away & forget locking it. But the Hotel is very safe, given its layout. Bar prices are reasonable. Very good menu variety for Breakfast & all were well cooked & TASTY. Saturday was quite busy for the staff to cope. But everyone was happy & NO complaints. I was with my wife + 13 other relatives (aged 23 to 68).

Large, clean rooms at a good price.

Large, clean rooms at a good price.
Bedroom a little dated perhaps but clean.
Covid social distancing impaired breakfast to a VERY basic standard only a small selection of continental available. Around the corner the night before I had a large carvery and was able to choose everything I wanted as per normal and also last week we stayed at a Premier Inn and had full breakfast choice.
Beds are comfy and we slept well.

Whilst travelling across the country, we happened upon the Alma Lodge Hotel because it offered a slightly cheaper than the nearby Premier Inn. I'm glad we made this choice! It is a very comfortable hotel with excellent staff. Upon arrival, the receptionist advised that the Italian Restaurant was fully booked for private function although dinner would be served in a private dining room. It was a very pleasant dining experience with very attentive waiting staff (also humerous) and excellent food. The following morning breakfast was served in the main dining room (Italian Restaurant) and the standard of food and presentation excelled even high quality competitors!

Overall, this hotel deserves a recommendation as it beats the local competitors for excellent value. We have already pencilled in the Alma Lodge for our future trips to the area!

Extremely expensive for drinks, half of the staff seemed new and had no idea of what was going on. Thankfully that meant a few of them ended up undercharging you, so you only paid extortionate prices instead of laughably ridiculous ones.
Suburban Stockport location central London pricing.

Nice room, tidy and clean, right in the heart of Stockport a busy main road for most the night keeping us awake. It was hot as well in the room which was unusual for a March night but overall enjoyed the hotel. Had a nice breakfast selection in the morning and TV in the bar to watch football or rugby. Room was quite a big one which was handy as we had a travel cot.

What should have been a memorable day for my son his wedding day was spoilt by the hotel staff and the later actions by its management. I and all guests were horrified when a member of staff didn't secure the table the cake was positioned More

Used as a venue for a local football clubs awards ceremony. Very nice place with very good staff. However, on a warm day the beer on the pumps from the rear bar was not very chilled and causing a lot of wastage. Time to update your beer cooling?

As hotel restaurants go this is fairly simple Italian fare. A la carte and specials are available but the food itself was nothing special. Waiters were friendly and service was good. Overall a lacklustre experience.

I stayed here for one night on a business trip. The building is dated, but it has been kept in very good condition and my room was cleaner than most of the large hotel chains I've stayed at. I slept fantastically well in the bed, which was very comfortable (a little towards the firm side, which I like, and high quality).

The window was a double layer sliding window which probably helped to keep outside noise down, although I could hear a faint hum of the busy road out front from my room at the side of the hotel.

The sound proofing between rooms seemed poor, and I could hear (faintly) what sounded like a very noisy snooring neighbour as I went to sleep!

I did not eat in the restaurant, but the menu looked quite good. The hotel is owned and run by an Italian family, and the restaurant follows this theme. However, the breakfast was rather poor and I hope this isn't representative of the restaurant in the evening. I didn't even bother to try the bacon and sausages which looked, frankly, cheap and unpleasant. The selection of alternatives was not fantastic - however, the croissants and pain au chocolat were actually good quality so that will suit some.

The hotel was much cheaper than nearby alternatives, although it does lack the extras such as a gym and pool. Overall, a good place to stay - particularly on a budget.

Visited the Alma Lodge with a couple of friends to see Stephen Holbrook. The event was hugely entertaining, but was made better by the cosy surroundings of the hotel.
The reception and bar were well set out and the staff were friendly and helpful! All in all a very enjoyable experience!

Second time I've been there for a funeral wake. Nice place, lots of space. Nice toilets. The cakes were really good. Rest of food generic and OK. Not enough staff on the bar. Took 20 minutes to get a very expensive gin and tonic.

Cheaper than chips. Standard lay out of a hotel troom. Trip to the room is epic with no short cuts, you may need breather and a map. Breakfast was excellent but food layout is weird and the staff assume you know its self service and that the milk and cereal are at opposite corners of the room and that milk and bacon etc half a room away each other. Just not right

It's a bit dated room was clean, little or no hot water first thing in the morning. Breakfast was luke warm at best. Bar prices are daylight robbery. On a good note the staff were very friendly.
