Excellent Italian food. Our server was a lovely Italian girl who gave us great tips on the city. I would definitely go back again.

Old hotel. Decore tired, food did not impress us. Large carpark in the grounds. It is what it is
Lady in reception very rude. I called for bedroom reservation and as soon as I said that I was calling from a training company they said they were not interested.. I would definitely take my business somewhere else
Very hospitable and charming. My stay was definitely comfortable and I shall look forward to stay there again if am passing through.
Very warm welcome by riendly & helpful Receptionist April. The staff were all attentive, very polite, & respectful. Quite diverse too. Quite a few languages are spoken by staff which is a plus for tourists. We were in Manchester for a funeral & the staff made our stay absolutely hassle free. Stairs were a bit inconvenient for my wife. But there's a chair half way up on the landing. Massive car park. A Ramp for the disabled with large push buttons to open doors. Spacious & very clean rooms & bathroom. The room door needs to be locked by key though. So it is easy to walk away & forget locking it. But the Hotel is very safe, given its layout. Bar prices are reasonable. Very good menu variety for Breakfast & all were well cooked & TASTY. Saturday was quite busy for the staff to cope. But everyone was happy & NO complaints. I was with my wife + 13 other relatives (aged 23 to 68).
Fantastic staff and so helpful good food would go again.
Large, clean rooms at a good price.
Bedroom a little dated perhaps but clean.
Covid social distancing impaired breakfast to a VERY basic standard only a small selection of continental available. Around the corner the night before I had a large carvery and was able to choose everything I wanted as per normal and also last week we stayed at a Premier Inn and had full breakfast choice.
Beds are comfy and we slept well.
Good unfussy hotel. Clean tidy & a good breakfast selection. Would have been 5 stars had the beer been more reasonably priced.
Nice rooms, pleasant hotel with an excellent breakfast.
Christmas festive lunch ( I have never been served such disgusting food.lack of choice for the declared menu . Over cooked ,cold .not surprised we where the only people there! Will never recommend
Went to a conference. Plenty of car parking space and facilities clean and we'll maintained.
Our lunch was lovely I've been going there for 40 years staff are bril
Whilst travelling across the country, we happened upon the Alma Lodge Hotel because it offered a slightly cheaper than the nearby Premier Inn. I'm glad we made this choice! It is a very comfortable hotel with excellent staff. Upon arrival, the receptionist advised that the Italian Restaurant was fully booked for private function although dinner would be served in a private dining room. It was a very pleasant dining experience with very attentive waiting staff (also humerous) and excellent food. The following morning breakfast was served in the main dining room (Italian Restaurant) and the standard of food and presentation excelled even high quality competitors!
Overall, this hotel deserves a recommendation as it beats the local competitors for excellent value. We have already pencilled in the Alma Lodge for our future trips to the area!
Extremely expensive for drinks, half of the staff seemed new and had no idea of what was going on. Thankfully that meant a few of them ended up undercharging you, so you only paid extortionate prices instead of laughably ridiculous ones.
Suburban Stockport location central London pricing.
Lovely staff, clean and spacious rooms, great prices including a yummy full English breakfast and free parking! Best if you have a car- its a 30 min drive from Manchester city center.
I stayed at The Alma Lodge Hotel 26/9/2018 - 14/10/2018! This was my third prolonged stay & I couldn't be happier! Hotel has charm of yesteryear, which I love! Every part of Hotel spotless, my room, bathroom & Im a very particular person! The Staff From Ronaldo, Teona, Thomas, all Reception staff, Housekeepers couldn't have been more helpful & kind! Visiting Stockport/Manchester from Australia, this is the Only Hotel I would stay in! Buses at front door to Manchester shopping or Merseyway! Taxi's are usually very fast! I have never heard Noise, Never found anything dirty in my room or bathroom! Beds changed with clean linen, every few days! Coffee, Tea, Milk, Soaps, Shampoos all provided! Clean towels every day & large size! Dinner to room if required or Dining in Restaurant! Comfy bed & pillows! Loved my early morning breakfast, thanks Staffxxxx
Thank You Everyone @ The Alma Lodge Hotel xxxxx From Australia
Nice room, tidy and clean, right in the heart of Stockport a busy main road for most the night keeping us awake. It was hot as well in the room which was unusual for a March night but overall enjoyed the hotel. Had a nice breakfast selection in the morning and TV in the bar to watch football or rugby. Room was quite a big one which was handy as we had a travel cot.
3rd stay here when meeting friends in Manchester. Great mid-range hotel at a very reasonable price. Comfy beds, great breakfast and excellent service, nothing is too much trouble. Definitely recommend for a mini break in Manchester or a pre flight stay to start or end your hols. Will return.
Pleasant hotel breakfast was excellent and plenty to eat with large choices room clean and tidy but television was terrible picture poor reception staff polite and helpful
The food was ok and the younger waiters and waitresses tried the best have a nice time
The hot buffet was very nice and all staff were attentive
What should have been a memorable day for my son his wedding day was spoilt by the hotel staff and the later actions by its management. I and all guests were horrified when a member of staff didn't secure the table the cake was positioned More
Used as a venue for a local football clubs awards ceremony. Very nice place with very good staff. However, on a warm day the beer on the pumps from the rear bar was not very chilled and causing a lot of wastage. Time to update your beer cooling?
Nice large room ..clearly been refurbished recently ...clean ..firm mattress ...good pillows .. super breakfast ..really good ..nice staff
As hotel restaurants go this is fairly simple Italian fare. A la carte and specials are available but the food itself was nothing special. Waiters were friendly and service was good. Overall a lacklustre experience.
Comfortable hotel. Rooms average but comfortable and clean. Good wi-fi and rooms well shielded from road noise. Nice bar and dining facilities.
Had diamond wedding celebrations there excellent room for 120, everything superb, service, food and Howard supervised it brilliantly, Just had a funeral lunch in dining room for27 again super 3 course luncheon, also mother's Day and valentine's lunch all of a standard rarely seen silver service all served as one with trained staff and still a sweet trolley !!!
Very clean and comfortable. Staff pleasant. Disappointed that they have no children's menu.
I stayed here for one night on a business trip. The building is dated, but it has been kept in very good condition and my room was cleaner than most of the large hotel chains I've stayed at. I slept fantastically well in the bed, which was very comfortable (a little towards the firm side, which I like, and high quality).
The window was a double layer sliding window which probably helped to keep outside noise down, although I could hear a faint hum of the busy road out front from my room at the side of the hotel.
The sound proofing between rooms seemed poor, and I could hear (faintly) what sounded like a very noisy snooring neighbour as I went to sleep!
I did not eat in the restaurant, but the menu looked quite good. The hotel is owned and run by an Italian family, and the restaurant follows this theme. However, the breakfast was rather poor and I hope this isn't representative of the restaurant in the evening. I didn't even bother to try the bacon and sausages which looked, frankly, cheap and unpleasant. The selection of alternatives was not fantastic - however, the croissants and pain au chocolat were actually good quality so that will suit some.
The hotel was much cheaper than nearby alternatives, although it does lack the extras such as a gym and pool. Overall, a good place to stay - particularly on a budget.
Got married here and also recently went for s meal. Nice place would recommend
Does what is says on the Tin. Stayed 1 night the room was fine. Staff very friendly. No complaints.
We are always looked after with good food and prices
I was very impressed & satisfied with the venue & the service
Had the set 4 course sunday meal - excellent food and good service at sensible price.
Having used 23 hotels this year Alma is in my top 3 hotels it doesn't have a lift but makes up for it in quality service and cleanliness I will be back
Visited the Alma Lodge with a couple of friends to see Stephen Holbrook. The event was hugely entertaining, but was made better by the cosy surroundings of the hotel.
The reception and bar were well set out and the staff were friendly and helpful! All in all a very enjoyable experience!
Great nights stay, all staff were freindly and the food was great. Alot of food for very little money. Would recommend if you need somewhere to stay after a day full of meetings.
Very friendly staff with bar and restaurant on site. Shower water pressure was lacking and no lift to 3rd floor
Comfortable and clean rooms, very helpful, friendly staff and reasonable pricing.
We went for a wedding. The atmosphere was great however the prices for drinks were quite expensive
Second time I've been there for a funeral wake. Nice place, lots of space. Nice toilets. The cakes were really good. Rest of food generic and OK. Not enough staff on the bar. Took 20 minutes to get a very expensive gin and tonic.
Just want to thank zoe clare and all the Alma lodge staff . Ian and I had an amazing wedding day .thank you for making it so special. I will definitely be recommending you to people that our looking for a wedding venue . Thank you once again for all your hard work
The staff was friendly, decent facilities, good choice of food and refreshments, easy access to public transport, 10 minutes away from city center. the rooms seem very clean and decent. Decent parking facility. All withing good competitive prices. All in all no real complaints.
Cheaper than chips. Standard lay out of a hotel troom. Trip to the room is epic with no short cuts, you may need breather and a map. Breakfast was excellent but food layout is weird and the staff assume you know its self service and that the milk and cereal are at opposite corners of the room and that milk and bacon etc half a room away each other. Just not right
Attended for a funeral gathering. Rooms are ok, a little dated. The jack daniels was expensive
It's a bit dated room was clean, little or no hot water first thing in the morning. Breakfast was luke warm at best. Bar prices are daylight robbery. On a good note the staff were very friendly.
Lovely staff and service, the venue could do with upgrading the sound system or at least have a diagram to use the system.
