Deeply disappointed regarding the level of professionalism within their customer service in regards to weddings. Need a more in depth explanation? Please see below...

I'd say the biggest negatives of Allenberry was your response time and lack of recognition for our budget. My fiancee and I had to have multiple conversations with your rep about response time and it's importance to us.

At times he would say that he had a lot on his plate and has been struggling on response time. As some one that has 3 part-time jobs, I get that people have a lot to juggle however it's an excuse and frankly a poor reason for it taking longer than a week to respond to emails and inquiries especially when we were getting close to signing. During one of our conversations it came simply down to, if you don't have the time to devot to us, no worries...but tell us now so that we won't waste your time or ours. The rep also consistently would put items above our budget. Between both of these reasons, we reached out to the reps supervisor to discuss next steps. But that too proved to be ineffective which just supported the working theme that we were never on the same page despite constantly taking the time and energy to try and be. It should be noted that these attempts were initiated by the client.

At this time in the year, Allenberry was moving in between reps for wedding. I understand changes to staffing. However, the amount of time we spent trying to re articulate our needs and desires was exhausting and continued the theme that ya'll didn't care for our budget or money which was fine. It was a real shame and a great disappointment. I understand that at the end of the day you are a business and need to make a living just like the rest of us.

However, I encourage your team to look at your internal processes to better understand the contrast in what you say versus how you walk a discussion and implement action. I know that no decisions on your part were targeted at us or our vision however when you advertise "Our event services team will expertly orchestrate the planning and execution of your wedding day so you can focus on what matters most getting married!" As a conscious consumer we expect that you hold that standard. Frankly, we continued to not feel comfortable having allenberry handle anything with the wedding out of fear of it not happening within our budget and vision. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Attended a wedding and loved the property. The workers were friendly. Unfortunately for the two hundred dollar price tag for the room my stay was less than desirable with the experience I had. We were here with family and asked for adjoining rooms which we didn't get. It was a busy night I'm sure so its fine, but the people who were next to us were up at four a.m. and it sounded like there was no wall between them and us. The bathroom is tiny. Probably the worst part about the room was our air conditioning didn't work at all. With my experience I'd suggest not staying here. Would be better off saving the money and ubering to another hotel if you have an event to attend to here.

Attended an Octoberfest event in the giant tent by the waters edge. The pulled pork sandwiches and lager along with flat screen for college football made for a pleasant evening. Hope to try the restaurant in the future.

Beautiful grounds for a wedding. We were guests of a wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the Creekside wedding to the evening lights and fire pits, Allenberry has done a nice job letting this place just be beautiful. The room was nice, with an in room Keurig and comfy bed. We also thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast at their Cafe. The sausage egg and cheese honey biscuit was a surprisingly delicious way to start our day. We do not expect much, but the biscuit and sausage were delicious. I also recommend the baked oatmeal. We are from the area and have not been here since they renovated the property over the last couple of years. It was a pleasant surprise to see the progress they have made. We will definitely be back for a show and swing by for breakfast! This would also be a nice place for a quick weekend getaway without the kids. One other side note is that even though the grounds are rather hilly, the Allenberry employees were quick to get a golf cart to assist any elderly guests that were there. Clean rooms. Love the common areas in the Pine cabin! The fireplace is so cozy. Off season, so we had the whole area to ourselves. The restaurant in the main building was wonderful. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the food very good. We noticed alot of regular customers dining for lunch and dinner. We would like to stop by for the theater shows.

Good.

"Wonderful experience!!"

Everything from the appetizers to dessert was delicious. Even though this was our first visit to The Barn Restaurant the coziness of the decor made my entire group feel like we were dining at an old favorite. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helped me select my meal as everything on the menu sounded amazing. My party of 7 included 4 adults and 3 children and after dinner we all agreed that The Barn Restaurant has officially become one of our "new" old favorites. We can't wait to return!

In September we attend a play and had dinner in the Barn restaurant. Food was mediocre and priced very high. If the food was better, I would give 5 stars. The place does look great however. Kudos on the improvements.

Allenberry Resort has something to offer just about everyone. My wife and I went with some friends for brunch and to see a play. It is such a quaint venue. The setting along the Yellow Breeches creek is beautiful and the decor is warm and inviting. If you want a mini vacation, not only do they offer cabins/lodge for lodging, but there are local attractions that may be of interest. If you're into fly fishing, the Yellow Breeches is a great trout stream. I highly recommend Allenberry for something different.

Newly restored, the interior and exterior of the buildings are magnificent. The 5 bedroom mansion is beautifully furnished. The spa has so many options. Giving 4 stars because I have only done a site visit. Have not stayed over night not have I eaten there. I plan to dine there soon. This is worth checking out. It is located along a trout stream. Very quiet and peaceful.

Stayed here in February 2020 and it was clear how much time, effort, love etc. that the new owners of the resort put into updating it and improving. Great atmosphere, great food, and wonderful, friendly employees.

No one was at the front desk when my friends & I arrived in town at 8pm on a Monday, needing a place to stay. NO ONE. We decided to rest in the unlocked common room and would pay for lodging in the morning. At 1am, a security guard came in with barking dogs, screaming at us to leave. Didn't give is a chance to explain or pay. Completely unreasonable for a town that the AT goes right through. Terrible experience. Don't give them your business if you hike.

My recent visit to Allenberry was a perfect way to relax and visit friends outside by the creek. The Still House is my favorite place to sit and watch the fish jumping and the leaves falling. The Barn restaurant is phenomenal. Bonus? The pool was still open and was simply lovely on warm day! Thank you.

Atmosphere, Scenery, and presentation at the restaurant were all fantastic. The lunch food was below average. Greasy Fish served on top of greasier burnt fries. My wife's chicken sandwich drowned in mustard. A really cute coffee extras tray was counteracted by the lack of a spoon. I was scouting a location to bring my clients - I'll have to take them elsewhere. Bummer - overall ambience is excellent. The restaurant's kitchen needs to elevate the meal quality to match the rest of this magnificent establishment. I'd give the atmosphere a 5 and the food quality a 1.

The Barn restaurant was really friendly with lots of creative options. The production in the Playhouse was first-rate for summer resort shows and the theater is fully renovated. We didn't stay overnight.

I visited Allenberry Resort to see the play Steele Magnolia's. The play was amazing; well directed and the actresses were great! The resort reminds me of the resort on Dirty Dancing! Love it! There is plenty of parking!

We stayed at this resort for 2 nights in February. We were very underwhelmed with the room. It was small and sparsely decorated. The bathroom was very small and no tub. There were a pile of cords in the corner of the room. We had a issue checking inn and when we came back Saturday we were locked out of our room because they thought we had checked out. A train runs close to the property and we through blowing the horn every couple hours. We had no housekeeping. I highly recommend you stay somewhere else but I do recommend the theater on the property. It is by far the shining star at this resort. The shoe was magnificent!!

Excellent stay and a special nod to Cody Meassick, the Director of Outdoor Activities who facilitated an excellent kayak excursion. Would definitely recommend that to all staying at the resort!

The playhouse and lodge are spectacular!! The staff is amazing. Brought a gift for a member of the cast but he left before I could deliver. Called the lodge and the guy who answered said he would take care of it!!! Mission accomplished!!! Thanks again!!

It's kind of a high end place. Menu was a little small but everything we got was good. Prices were a little high thou I was traveling on company card so wasn't paying close attention. The staff were all polite and professional and the building and area were beautiful. You can sit outside and look over the creek. PS - I think it just opened (Summer 2017)

AT hikers, beware! During night the electricity went out, which in itself probably was not the (extremely) dated facility's fault; however the maintenance personnel either did not answer phone calls on the emergency on call number and weren't helpful when they did, and who I assume to be the manager barely stopped long enough to talk to us, took no ownership of the terrible experience (and did not apologize for the inconvenience) and would not even entertain a discounted secondary stay so we could just do our laundry and sit in an air conditioned room for the night. She ended up letting us stay an hour and a half later than checkout to finish laundry once the electricity came on, but we left feeling very much like we were taken advantage of, as there was no other place to stay indoors for hikers. Certainly seems that they are no longer concerned with providing adequate service now that they are selling the property. Save your money, go to the free campground or hike onto the Doyle in Duncannon.

Wonderful resort on the banks of the Yellow Breeches Creek. Well appointed room with a comfortable bed. Clean with very friendly staff. Could use a broader selection of convenience items for sale such as batteries.

It was very nice. Checking in and Out was extremely warm and inviting. Our room was very cozy and soft, and very clean! The only problem I had was there was no ice machine where we stayed at on the property so I had to go to the restaurant for ice every time (though the front desk clerk did offer to bring me a bucket) I was disappointed that there was no longer a spa available for pampering. My husband and I were really looking forward to that upon checking in and were told there was no longer spa services available. Regardless it was a nice 1 night stay and we would stay again as the property itself is lovely and they have a nice community theatre and restaurant on site.

The remodeling of this resort is nothing short of amazing. The staff is first class. I'll have to stop by to check out the menu. Tonight was all about the music. Indian Summer Jars rocked the deck!

The food at the Allenberry buffet is cold, unappetizing, and overpriced. There were a limited number of things on the menu that I enjoyed, and I found that most other customers agreed with my strong feelings. There were not enough people working at the Allenberry, and the service suffered as a result. The play preformed at the playhouse was entertaining and enjoyable. However, when we saw the play last year, it was not very good at all. The food is not great, nor is the service, and the play is a hit or miss.

I visited the Allenberry to attend one of their musical productions. It is very appreciated that they have the theater and the program to promote the arts in the community. The theater was nice and concessions were local varieties and well priced. Parking was fine but not great so if you are seeing a show come early. I know the resort is lovely but it is also fairly overpriced in my opinion. But still a lovely space and Greta addition to community theater.

The play A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder was fantastic! Your staff is friendly and helpful. The playhouse is beautiful. I would have given 5 stars had it not been so warm in the theater. Otherwise a fantastic experience!!
