Great service leading up to the move and fantastic team (driver and loaders on both sides of our cross country move). Would highly recommend using this company for your moving needs. We had previously used another affiliate on our move to Illinois and the experience was equally excellent. Great national company with local agents.

I would stay away from North American Van Lines for any moving. My move was from IL to GA and it was horrible from the start. I thought I would pay a little more with Advantage to get better quality and move would be done right the first time. Not the case, should have gone with Mayflower. 1st, they came to my house with an overload (knowing my items would not fit on the truck). In that they literally dismantled everything and squished and flattened things in. Yup, you bet there was damage. 2nd truck came, you guessed it, items were not delivered within the time frame. The packing on the second truck was as bad, more damaged items. First delivery was to be made Thursday at 8 am, did not arrive until 2:30 pm (due to flat, traffic, etc.), then because they disassembled everything, the crew had hard time putting my baby's crib together, my son's car bed together and other beds. I had to help when I paid for the service not to do that. Crib had damage to the wood, my nightstands, dresser, dining table chair, and kids toys, were damaged (and more). My Entry way was damaged. Second load came 2 days after the guaranteed delivery date. They WILL NOT pay for their delay, but will charge you if you change date past the allocated amount, set double standard. I called the office Advantage several times. I will not name names, but my moving consultant was nice, but really did not communicate well with salesperson. Sales person is no longer with company. I was given different answers by different people. I could go on, let's see if they will pay for all the items even though I bought their insurance for $500. Stay away.

We recently moved from Illinois to Wisconsin and used Advantage Moving & Storage. Initially the move went fine. The crew that loaded the truck in Illinois was great. They took extreme care in protecting the floors, wrapping furniture, boxing TV's and large pictures/mirrors, etc. We were very happy with the first part of our move. Our sales consultant was super personable and really helped us prepare for loading day. The timetable was exactly what we wanted, so things couldn't have been better on our way out-of-state. However, when we arrived in Wisconsin, it was a different level of service. The "new" crew was local and not the same as the packing crew, except for the driver. They were obviously in a hurry and wanted to finish the job as early as possible, so the driver could get back to Illinois with the truck. It was hectic, trying to direct the crew members in various rooms to bring furniture items and boxes. Although the crew was polite, they did not take the same care as the loading crew. They laid coverings on the main walkways of the house (entryway, hallway), but not nearly as much as the loading crew did. We probably should have asked that they lay more, but it was so hectic that there just wasn't time. We were often in different rooms, directing crew members on placement of furniture, and when we returned to another area, items were already moved in (even if we had to have them place them differently). We had several items damaged (the underside lining of an occasional chair and a decorative wood trim broken on a shelf unit), which we filed a claim on and were compensated for their repair. We also noticed that there were many scratches and scuffs on the engineered wood flooring in the kitchen, where no protective covering was laid. We included this in our claim, but were denied this, since we did not bring it to the crew's attention on the day of the move. We now have to have our flooring refinished to remove all the marks across it. With all that was going on that day, we couldn't possibly have had a chance to inspect everything before the crew left. We didn't notice the damage to the chair until after they had left, so not sure why this was any different. While unpacking, we of course found a few other small items that had broken (coffee cups, picture frame), but nothing of major value except for the chair and shelf unit. Overall, no too bad a service, but disappointed in the claim process, since we now have to pay for getting our floors refinished. Make sure to police the crew as much as possible, so they don't take shortcuts.

While the agent who booked us was very friendly and knowledgeable, I wasn't as pleased with much of what happened after. I didn't know the definite move Day or hour that the movers would come until a few days a head of time. Not easy when trying to plan a move out of state. There were items that were not communicated clearly (like the fact that we needed to supply our own wardrobe boxes). I think a simple follow up 1 week before the move to review all the details and would have been much better service (especially since we spoke to numerous movers before booking this one and they had different requirements, couldn't remember which was which by the time the move actually happened).

The movers themselves arrived and had questions, but didn't talk to me or ask me any questions, they called the agent. I could have answered their questions immediately. They did a subpar job of packing some of our items, which resulted in broken items. I understand insurance is paid and these things happen. So my biggest complaint is that when there WAS in issue it took over 3 weeks to review our claim and confirm if they would pay it out. THAT IS WHAT INSURANCE IS FOR. And the customer service/claim rep WOULD NEVER reply to ANY email I sent asking for an update. They never answered a phone call when I called or returned a call. I had to just sit and wait, even after escalating it to any one else we had had contact with throughout the process. They were less expensive than others, not sure it was worth it though.

Everything went smoothly. The truck was on time and Sherman, the driver, was outstanding. Answered all our questions and the gentlemen he used to help us load and unload were great. They were all friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend Advantage to anyone moving.

Do not be fooled by their insurance coverage. Advantage Moving and Storage packed/shipped/unloaded my tv. The screen was damaged and it's no longer usable. They denied our claims stating it's normal for this to happen due to vibrations during travel. Flat out denied our claim. Very surprised because they were friendly, prompt, responsive. The sales rep stated it's out of his hands and i need to deal directly with their claims department. The claims department stuck to their flimsy reasoning and would not reconsider. AMS took no responsibility and both sales and claims appeared to be separate entities when they are all the same company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

The pick up was great, on time and efficient. The delivery was awful. The driver could not drive in the mountains. We live in Lake Tahoe so this was important. Of the 6 pieces of furniture that we moved, 4 were damaged significantly. We are still waiting on the insurance company to contact us 15 days after making a claim. pieces were left not assembled and in the wrong places. All in all, the delivery was a train wreck.

This moving van pulled up on Friday with pouring down rain. They worked persistently for 8 hours and were all exceptionally positive and supportive of the fact that my husband and I were not finished packing when they arrived!! We still had the TVs to put in their correct box. It continued to pour the morning into the afternoon. They came back into the house wet themselves but nothing arrived in Colorado wet- not one box. These 4 men never complained and continually asked if they could help in any way. They even moved our one bedroom set back into its original room before they left! I could not say enough wonderful things about Juan and his son. It was our first time moving in 49 years and they made it a very pleasant experience. We just could have packed a few more boxes but we ran out of them and we forgot the 12 foot ladder that is still hanging out in the garage unfortunately! They arrived early at our new home in Colorado and worked always asking what and where everything went. Juan even put our comfort select bed back together for us! Everything arrived just as it had left our home in Addison and we thank them very much!

I got 3 different estimates from 3 different companies and the salesperson from Advantage was by far the most helpful and informative. The process was smooth from start to finish. Very professional staff. Chaz and his crew arrived on time and did a great job. Would definitely recommend this moving company to anyone.

I have to start by saying that I seldom write reviews, negative or positive. I know how hard it is to decide on a service, such as a mover, without guidance from friends or reviews and that is why I decided to write this review. We have used Advantage Moving and Storage on more than one occasion and have been very happy with the service and professionalism of the staff. One of our moves involved moving out of one house, storing our belongings with Advantage for several months before moving into our new house. Everything went very smoothly (at least the movers part of things). The other move was for a family member but I was involved in a lot of the decision making. We had excellent service for that move as well. I would highly recommend this company for your moving and storage needs. 5 stars!

Moved from Chicago to Charlotte. Movers were very efficient but careful with our items. They had to move us out of a 3rd floor walk up so we really appreciated all their hard work. We also were pleased that the same 2 movers who moved us out in Chicago moved us in Charlotte. Would recommend and use again in the future.

North American are horrible liars. From stem to stern. 4 days late delivering and my stuff sat for 8 days 15 miles up the road. They loaded me on a container on the back of truck, not on a regular traier, and shipped my stuff rail from Illinois to Seattle . Sat me for 8 days becase nobody at the receiving end had the licence to deliver the 53ft HQ. When my stuff did arrive, the had changed to 2 trucks and still delivered 4 days late. LIARS LIARS AND MORE LIARS. The only good person at this Romany is Jovanny in Customer service. We had delivery issues and she emailed 4 different supervisors/superiors for help and none had the balls to reply. Moving companies are worse than used car dealers and North American and its agents leading thr way. I will hire day labor and drive myself if I ever move again. North American SUCKS and so does the management at this company. i would give zero stars if i could.

I held off doing the survey so I could unpack most of the boxes. I was pleasantly surprised to find that only one thing was broken. The knob to the grill and my husband was able to glue it back on!. The crew was on time, respectful and funny. From start to finish, we felt that our possessions would be well cared for. Your guarantee rate was awesome! We have heard of stories about moving companies holding possessions ransom until the client paid more. It was great that we did not have any added expense. I am not sure how to share this will Sirva, because they need to know how well you guys did.

Stay away from this moving company! They were absolutely careless with my move. They not only damaged an expensive dining table, office desk and a bed, but also lost a few items (possibly stolen). The company promised that they will bring a semi, yet brought a smaller truck and packed everything into it. This is a company that least cares about your belongings. This was evident in the way they packed - even cramped items into the refrigerator without letting me know - to the way the items were delivered. The people who came to deliver had no clue of the items loaded and were happy to disown any problems and leave as soon as possible. They were least concerned about the quality of the work or the reputation of the company. I thought I was getting fairly decent service by paying a premium. I had contracted with their Algonquin office. The salesperson nor the rep has any interest in your satisfaction as a customer. I highly suggest finding another company.

From starting with their estimator, Chuck and coordinator, Carmen and the moving team, lead by Chris and Virgil our cross country move was the best experience. With all of their attention to detail and care for our personal belongings our move was a wonderful experience. I take my hat off to their great team from beginning to end. I highly recommend them and I will be using their company again in the future.

Absolutely horrible experience. Under quoted during walk through and tripled the bill on delivery. Attempted cross country delivery 3 weeks earlier than scheduled, 48 hours after loading. Then trecked our belongings back to the warehouse 1600 miles away and tacked on additional delivery fees times 4 even though it was their mistake. Stay away from these crooked thieves

The salesperson Jackie was very professional. The rest of the company I wouldn't trust. The move took 8 hours to load up and the overload was placed into another truck. That was not what I ordered. The hired help are not employees of the company and this was never disclosed. We moved from Chicago to Miami and I was told to be at our new home at 9am. They didn't show up until close to noon. The driver "Roy" never called out the numbers because he wanted to get out quick. He had his own schedule. Items were broken - computer furniture and 3 bins of important family photos were missing. Over flow was stored at their warehouse for a few weeks. Naturally items were going to missing, again I say this is not what I had ordered. Driver for the second load arrived 3 weeks later and delivered items that weren't even mine. I returned them to the driver. I started to unpack and realized that family photo's and beads were missing. I asked the company to look for these items call previous drop offs and look into the warehouse. The Regional Director never called only text - What kind of customer service is this- You call the customer who spent $9000 to move. I even called the regional directors boss ( Mike Ritter) and the receptionist would not transfer my call to him, she said you can leave a message in Christine Evertsen voice mail. She didn't allow me to speak with Mr. Ritter. I worked with their claims and was reimbursed for the broken items. I trusted Advantage Moving with all my personal items and they didn't delivery as promised. I would not recommend this company to move anything. There is a lot more to my experience and I think anyone who reads this will understand that they are not professional.
The moving company employees did not deliver my Yamaha, Denon receivers and personal family items. THEY STEAL YOUR ITEMS, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. COMPANY EMPLOYEES NOT HONEST.

Our sales person Jackie was professional and so was Carmen but that is were our good experience ended. Years earlier I had a somewhat bad experience going with a budget mover so I decided to spend $1000s more to get a good move from Chicago to Colorado. First let me say we could not find a dining set we liked in Colorado so spent over $7000 on the set in Chicago knowing we would have to pay for shipping, but that was OK since we paid for a professional move.
The truck arrived at our home I looked inside and asked the driver how he was going to fit our belongings since he told us we were the last of 4 other loads on the truck. Jermaine said NO PROBLEM, well it was a problem we landed up having to leave behind a marble table, lamps, a Dyson vac and many other items as they overloaded the truck! The two most expensive items a Concert Grand Piano and our Dining Set arrived Damaged. The dining table of which I ordered specifically for the move and still had the tags on it arrived with no less than 26 chips and dents in the wood, The $22000 piano with deep scratches. Now the replacement value insurance wants to settle for $1100 after my deductible. The driver who had told us on multiple occasions he would be responsible for any damage caused in shipping Lied! The insurance company refuses to give us the replacement value of the dining table, I did not ask on the piano although it left Illinois in good condition but we had for some years and I would accept a repair However I want a new table or value of it. Now I have to fight with them although they are part of the company and sold by Jackie. May as well used a budget mover. Paid for professional move. Did not receive that and now may have cost me even $1000s more since a repair is not acceptable on our dining table. This whole situation just makes us sick with the way it is being addressed.

Outstanding! Far exceeding expectations. Costs were reasonable, in line with other moving company estimates. Everyone I worked with from Advantage, based in Algonquin, IL was courteous and professional. All went above and beyond to make our move from Illinois to Florida as stress-free as possible. Thanks to Jackie who came out to do the estimate (spot on). Also to Carmin who acted as point and was extremely responsive, communicating with us often and well, making sure there were no surprises. And especially to Josh and Tico our movers who called to let us know when to expect them, and wrapped, packed, unpacked, and set-up everything carefully. I highly recommend this team.

During COVID-19, I opted to receive 4 moving quote...

During COVID-19, I opted to receive 4 moving quotes before making a decision. Advantage was the only company that came to my house, walked through my home and talked me through every aspect of my move. I was also provided cost savings options for some of my larger household items.

After I called the company to tell them that I wanted Advantage to move me, I was assigned a moving coordinator. She was amazing as well. Her clear, constant communication was impeccable and very professional. I didn t worry about what was next because I my move coordinator was on top of it.

Lastly, The Advantage moving crews were both incredibly awesome (move-out and move-in) with my out of state move. They were on time, thorough, professional and they handled my possessions with care. I would highly recommend them for any moving experience.

Both of our drivers and teams that helped in the loading and unloading of our home from Lisle, IL to Sarasota, FL were fantastic. They did the job in a professional manner and were very pleasant to work with. Also, we had two slightly damaged items that they quickly resolved with the insurance claim and we were paid a fair amount to fix both items. I am totally satisfied.
