Had a wonderful experience at Advantage Chevy. Shawn was very helpful in getting us the vehicle we were interested in at the price we were looking for. He was genuine and professional. Both Finance managers I worked with were very professional as well. Facilities were clean and everyone was respectful of covid protocols. I would absolutely recommend this dealership.

If I could give this place Zero stars I would. I came in with my family on August 5th after leaving another car dealership. My salesperson was Deshawn Bell he and his manager Mike were awesome and very attentive to our needs due to the fact that my husband and Brother were there coaching me throughout the process. I figured that since I had a great experience that I'd go back the following weekend and trade in my 2014 for a 2017 Chevy Equinox. Needless to say this time I went back by myself and although Deshawn Bell was my sales person again the atmosphere and experience was very different. I was not greeted promptly. I was rushed through the process and things weren't explained as thoroughly as they were the week before. When I left I felt as though I had been got. I was not happy with my purchase and after talking to my husband discovered that I was being financed as though I had brought an Equinox but had come home with a Cruze. The original price for the cruze was priced online for 16995 but they told me with taxes and title plus gap insurance he's let it go for 1900. Sweet Right? Wrong! My car was financed at a 14% interest rate Mind you my credit report hadn't changed since the week prior to and the amount of money or down payment hadn't changed either. it was all the same. The only difference was that I was overcharged, A woman and alone. I called everyday for a week straight an got the run around. I live a good 45 minutes away and work long hours so, I couldn't just go. When I did go I was told that it was too late to do anything about it because I had already signed the paperwork and the car had already depreciated in value but, I could stick with the car and come back in 6 months. Again feeling defeated I spoke with Crystal Roberts on 9/6/2017 (from my hospital bed) who told me that my husband and I could come in to compare the features on the two cars ( malibu and Cruze) to get a better understanding of what I had purchased and she 'd go over everything with us. That didn't happen. I went by today after receiving a letter from the Financing company stating that they were unable to finance me under agreed upon conditions. Perplexed they had me to wait while they called the Finanace company. While waiting a salesman came and asked me to leave the area while he assisted a purchasing family. What? I left and called the Fianance company and they told me that they had received another application on 09/06/2017 and were agreeable with those terms. i asked them if I would have to sign and be agreeable to that and they stated that they received the newly signed paperwork but how when I was in the hospital. All in all there is a lot of fishy business going on here and I have already contacted a lawyer to handle it from here because I am done with the run around. DO NOT SHOP HERE. GO ELSEWHERE or you will be CONTACTING A LAWYER TOO!

I previously brought my first new car from Advantage two years ago. It was a 2012 Camaro LS. Tony Wyatt was my sales consultant. He was very nice, friendly, and helpful. Tony had let me take the Camaro for a test drive, and I fell in love with it. The wait was pretty long, but definitely worth it. My second time around a couple days ago I brought a brand new 2014 Camaro RS. Nicky Chavez was my sales consultant this time. I told him exactly what features I wanted my Camaro to have, and he found the one. I was too excited. Nicky is such a sweet person, and was very patient with me. I had a lot of questions to ask, and he answered them. Mark Brown is also a nice man. He was the one to finance my car both times. I would recommend anyone to Advantage. Every time I go in I feel welcomed. I know a lot of the workers since I use to work across the street at the Shell. Never is there a moment where I feel uncomfortable going. I could have a conversation with pretty much anyone there. Advantage is the place to go!

Horrible experience! Sales rep stated the sticker price is the final price and that the dealership does not negotiate and he didn't play those games.
He then proceeded to pull out a pink slip and said his commission on sticker price is only about $120. If he gave us his 100 dollar commission would that make me happy? How rude! I stood up and said thank you for your time and we left. Giving 1 star is being extremely generous because after the way we were treated I would give no stars.

Came back in to the dealership to get brakes checked and courtesy diagnostic done per GM customer satisfaction survey because of the issues that I'm having with my brakes. During the test drive with the mechanic behind the wheel, he informed me that the brakes need changing and rotor needs resurfacing AND these issues are pre-existing because I haven't had my car long enough and there's not enough miles on it from when I purchased it (4/20/19) to do any of the damage he was feeling and it's not my fault. I relayed what the mechanic said to the service rep behind the counter and he spoke to his supervisor who said they are not honoring the work that should've been done prior to my purchasing it and gave me a price to get it fixed. This is wrong on all levels and the dealership should be held accountable and sued for this mistreatment. I came here to get a decent car from a recommendation not to be sent off to purchase a lemon from a reputable dealership. I want justice for them trying to charge me for something that they knew existed before I purchased this car. I had every intention on posting on Facebook my recommendation to head down to this dealership to purchase but after these experiences, that won't be happening until they do right by me It's only fair and they know it because it's been confirmed by THEIR OWN MECHANIC that the problem is PRE-EXISTING!!!! I WANT MY CAR FIXED ASAP AND THEY NEED TO MAKE THIS RIGHT before a consumer lawyer is contacted!!!!

We came to Advantage thinking that they were closed for the day after we had just had an awful experience at Honda down the road. The sales men didn't fight over our business and they were more than willing to help us with all of our questions and many test drives of different vehicles. Specifically Tony Wyatt was great and I would buy from him. He was extremely friendly and not pushy or a typical car salesman at all. It was very refreshing.

When choosing a dealership I went to three different locations, however my last stop was Advantage Cherolet in Hodgkins. GREAT services! I walked in the place and was helped right away, no questions asked. They went out of their way to helped me to figure out what I could afford, what kind of car to choose, and even helped me to get insurance while I was there. It took a couple of hours, but that car came home with me that day. So I would definitely refer anyone looking for a car to go check it out for themselves.

My truck s steering wheel has been off-center since they replace my transmission and I was promised that they will correct it, but I needed to make an appointment before 3pm during the week, so I took a day off of work to bring the truck in and even after explaining the issue to the service advisor, the technician s solution to my steering wheel being of centered was to rotate my tires, my truck is not off on the alignment nor does it vibrate to be off balance, the steering wheel wasn t clocked correctly when they re-assemble everything After replacing the transmission and again even I took a day Off of work to get this done, nothing!!

I dropped off a car for my boss. I did not have a appointment and I came in unannounced. I was expecting scornful looks and a long wait. I was greeted immediately by two friendly smile's and was directed to Carolina. I could not be happier. Not only did she get it done for me. She even had me picked up and dropped off. She under promised and over delivered. Even after throwing her a curveball explaining I needed a mirror replaced. She had everything fixed for me and ready to go in one day. Not only did the car come out great. She kept me updated throughout the day with phone calls. Its the best service I have ever received at a car dealership. Thank you!

PLEASE walk away before buying any cars new/used from these people.
They don t even deserve ONE star. They are super professional when looking to buying a car. But once you leave the lot it s another story!!
They sell extended warranty that is supposed to cover everything the dealer doesn t. Yet the service people want to charge and always manage to say that s not covered when it CLEARLY states on the contract that it is!

(Careful with these people and learn what s covered under warranty. Otherwise they will charge you).

They are also extremely rude and unprofessional when you correct them as far as what the contract says!!

It also shouldn t take 6 hours for an oil change when i have an appointment.
(They also tried charging me for an oil change when it states on the contract that it should be free)

These people are unethical and i will be reporting them to the better business bureau.

TERRIBLE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!
My vehicle was leaking antifreeze. I took my car there for service. They told me that it was my water pump and replaced it. Vehicle is still under warranty so it was all covered. I picked my car up and on my way home, not 5 miles from dealership, all the coolant leaked out of my vehicle. I got a message on my car that is was running very hot. I immediately pulled over and turned my vehicle off. I called the dealership and Felipe in the service department answered the phone. He gave me phone number to call for a tow truck to have my car towed back to the dealership. I was stuck in rush hour traffic, my cell phone battery was low and I was freezing because I couldn't turn my car on for heat and this man couldn't even call the tow truck for me. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!
The next day no one from the service department called me. I had to call them at 10:30 a.m. to find out about my car. They said cylinder needed to be changed and they had to order a part. I went to dealership to get a rental while my car was being repaired. The rental they gave me was dirty and I had to wait 30 mins. for them to wash it. When I got in the car it didn't have any washer fluid. I added some when I got home. I picked my car up yesterday and they charged me $25.00 for the tow!!!!! I asked to speak to service manager, Len ( he refused to give me his last name and told me he had no business cards). He told me it was a separate repair that is why I had to pay the $25.00 for tow.
SEPARATE REPAIR?????!!!!! It was for the same issue that they didn't fix the first time. He said he would look into and let me know in a couple days. Advantage Chevy must be hard-up for money if they're willing to loose a good customer over $25.00. I have recommended several family and friends to Advantage Chevy that have purchased vehicles. NEVER AGAIN!!!! I will never take my car there again! Not even for a car wash! I have removed / covered Advantage Chevy sticker on the back of my vehicle. NO MORE FREE ADVERTISING FOR THEM!!!!! And I have filed a formal complaint with GM.

I came in with two cars in mind; cruze & sonic.
I had read reviews on yelp & google first, and I saw good reviews about Joccelyn. I called her to see if she was there before I went, and she was. We got there and she greeted us and showed us to the cars. There was a sale going on for Cruze and Sonic's which was even better. She explained everything about both cars, however, I felt more connected with the Sonic. The cruze is a very nice car, but I felt like it was more luxurious. The sonic was perfect to my personality. So she showed me prices and I made up my mind about a Sonic that had everything I wanted. She was an excellent sales person. She worked around my budget and made everything smoother. It was a long day, but it was worth it. So ask for Jocelynn, she's nice and straightforward with you.

I went to their service department on Saturday for my first oil change on my new vehicle (purchased vehicle Dec 2015) I had a tire that would lose air, I asked them if they could look at it and perhaps patch it if needed. My car would show a low tire pressure warning, I would fill the tire with air and it would last for about three weeks before the light went on again, so I am assuming it was a very small hole. They had my car for over 4 hours, finally told me their was a small hole and that they patched it. I drove straight home form the dealership and parked the car. The next day I woke up to completely flat tire. I brought it to a tire shop and they showed me that the tired had been plugged, not patched and said it was the cheapest plug they could use and destroyed the tire. I had to purchase a brand new tire for a vehicle that was two months old.

When I called the service department they insisted they do not plug tires, and the plug was not from them. Who was the plug from then? Was it just a coincidence that the next day the tire was completely flat and there was a plug in it? Will never bring my vehicle to this service department again!

Cyril was very professional and pleasant! Although I had to walk away from his initial offer, he did not waiver when he stated he would do what he could to make sure I made a purchase. A few days later he called me and made it happen. I appreciate the fact that he did not haggle me and made my experience smooth and easy! I would definitely recommend Cyril and the Advantage Chevy - Hodgkins dealership to family and friends!

Had a great first car buying experience at Advantage. They really took the time to walk me through the process. These guys knew a lot about the cars and set me up with a car that really fit me.

I went in looking for either a Chevy Cruze or Sonic. I told them my price range and what I was willing to pay a month. They didn't beat around the bush with my price range or try to sell me something I couldn't afford.

They made my car buying experience simple, easy, and fun. I drove out of there with a new Chevy Cruze Eco, it was a car that I like and can afford.

Extremely disappointed and upset with the service I received today. I was neglected for 2 hours until Tom finally communicated with an update for my car. All I wanted was an oil change and tire rotation, come to find out all they were doing during that time was a car inspection. Didn't do my tire rotation, only an oil change. Told him I had to leave and forget about doing the tire rotation. Told me it would be another 40 minutes for paper work and to put the parts back into the car. Then comes back another hour later having done the tire rotation. Yup. 3 hours just for an oil change and an unwanted tire rotation. Waste of time.

This was by far the best experience ever! I worked with both Bobby and Steve Nunez to secure and finalize my purchase. I have to be honest as a woman buying a car can sometimes be a traumatic experience because of the assumption that car dealers will not treat you fair just because I am a woman! This was completely the opposite I even brought my fiance for back-up and he was able to stay in the car...they were great! Even the finance gentleman was extremely helpful and very clear about the terms of my loan and the GAP insurance that I added. We even talked about how this purchase would help my credit and what my next steps should be towards making my credit history even stronger. Everyone was patient with me and all of my Champagne taste! LOL :) I found the car that was put on the lot just for me! :) I have since told several friends and family members about my experience and my good friend will be calling this week.

More like take advantage Chevrolet. I went in to buy out my lease because it was ending and the original dealer I leased it from was further away, but they had sent me the buyout numbers for what it would be out the door. After showing my sales rep Ernie the email showing the buyout price he scoffed and told me I was dealing with a sales rep who didn't know what they were talking about and that price was far too low long story short they tried charging $4,000 more than what the buyout was for. Then between him and the sales manager refuse to let me have a copy of the quote was just willing to write numbers down so that I wouldn't have proof going elsewhere that they were attacking on more than they should have to buy out a lease. Went to the original dealer the next day and paid the price that I was originally quoted. This place is nothing but a bunch of unprofessional crooks.

My sales consultant, Tom Hackett really helped me out with everything from choosing the right car for my daughters and me, to getting me a monthly payment I can afford. Tom was not pushy in any way, to get me into just any car, he took the time to tell me about the vehicles I was interested in and was very knowledgeable on them as well. The selection of vehicles was big, there were many to choose from. Being a single mom, I was looking for an economical / reliable car I can afford AND something nice to drive. I found it here! I also have to give a big high five to the Finance Manager, Mark Brown...such a great guy and nice person to talk to, it's like we already knew him! Mark, took the time to explain each form I was filling out and even called me back a few days later to tell me they have a lower monthly payment for me! AWESOME! Who does that??? They do! Imagine seeing a delicious piece of cake. As you eat it you love it. But after you're finished it leaves such a bad taste in your mouth. This is Advantage Chevrolet. I purchased a car from them and a service. Unbeknownst to me the service that I purchased depended on something else that they promised to provide. I found this out after bringing my car in for service and waiting around for 2 plus hours, just to be given the news that they could not complete the service request. Since then they have not provided me with my property as promised or the service that I have paid for. My constant inquiries are given a placate answer or just ignored. Even going in face-to-face has not gotten any traction and a letter sent to their head manager has not gotten a response. I have resorted to filing consumer affairs complaint with the Illinois Attorney General. Hopefully this will finally get their attention.

I do not recommend this dealership unless you are buying a car and do not ever expect to deal with them again. Otherwise, go somewhere else.

Should change the name to "We take Advantage of you Chevrolet". Great fishermen there; hint* you and your hard earned dollars are the fish! Service spends all day thinking how to get you to stop by and donate them some money to come up with things to do to your car. I was charged for finding out my trans with less than 85k miles on it needs to be replaced due to a GM defect. Prior to that during multiple oil change visits I asked for my fog lights to be checked and the first 2 times I was asked if I wanted a quote for just checking my fog lights and the last time I was told they were checked and worked fine and I showed the lady that helped me and we both saw that they didn t work. GM takes zero responsibility for issues their vehicles have and place every additional cost on the customer and this dealership has proven it is carrying on the tradition of screw over the consumer and American citizen. There are so much more things that are unsatisfactory about the company and the dealership I will be changing my view and campaigning to change other s view of GM you lost a customer
