Me and my family recently purchased our second vehicle from this dealership Advantage Chevrolet located at 9510 Joliet Rd, Hodgkins, IL 60525.

We got there did our car search and found what we liked! Then we had a sales representative approach us name (ERNIE) who was bilingual and was able to speak to my parents and communicate real well. Then he took us for a car ride around the area and explained all the features of the vehicle and was super friendly and outgoing.

Once we got to the dealership we told him our price range of how much we wanted to pay monthly and how much I was thinking of giving as a down payment. And after going back and forward for a few hours of negotiating he was able to work out a better deal then what we expected we ended up paying less then the amount we had in mind and gave us a great deal on extended warranty so we agreed to pursue with the vehicle.

Once we got to the finance person Name (Fabian M) he was really friendly and outgoing, as well as bilingual which work out great. He took the time to explain everything to use and even ended up giving me a better APR deal then what we had expected.

Both ended up staying late just to help me get everything done and gave great customer service which is what I am all about. I definitely recommend you go look for ERNIE and ask for Fabian to be your finance assistant while purchasing a vehicle they get a rating of 10/10 thank you both.

While advantage maybe a decent dealer, they allow there employee Mark Ott to use work phones on work time to harass and say derogatory things about people with disabilities. I left a message for the gm Jason Roberts, with no call back. Called again after a few days and actually got him on the phone, I was promptly told to call a lawyer once I mentioned mark otts name then was hung up on. I was only calling to make them aware what the employee was doing on company time with company phone lines. Seemed like they either didn't care or already aware of on going bigotry with him.

Excellent customer service, very knowledgeable of their job and duties. They also make sure that you are very satisfied And that all questions are answered before you leave. Special thanks to Kenny the mechanic in the Service department... Thanks for all your help and answering my questions and concerns. Thanks again too you all!!!!! I used a service coupon that included 1 oil change...

I used a service coupon that included 1 oil change, 1 tire rotation, and 1 27 multi-point inspection. However, only the oil change and multi-point inspection were completed, leaving out the tire rotation.

So I called to let them know, and was told I would receive a call back, and 2 days later still no call back.

This on top of me having to fight every time I use my service coupons. First they say they don't exist, then they say they're expired, only for me to continue fighting and have them honor the coupons. IF I DID NOT PURCHASE THE SERVICE PLAN WHEN BUYING THE CAR, I WOULD NEVER BRING MY CAR HERE FOR SERVICE.

Sat in the lounge was told that my truck was ready in about 25% less time than the estimate.Paid the cashier. Was given demo how the remote start they added worked. Every thing works and my truck was nice and warm on the next cold day when I used the newly add feature. Thanks for the great service.

Looks like you guys just keep messing up huh? This crooked dealership will steal your money and not do the necessary work that should be covered under your warranty. We're done with Chevy vehicles solely because of advantage Chevrolet and their crooked customer service and thievery. Went in with myself and another buddy who went to automotive school and essentially corrected Len and the service associate and they wouldn't have it. They tried to get my girl to continue driving her car with a LOOSE CAM CHAIN tensioner or something of the sort and said it was fine and that it's cause she uses speedway gas. HAHAHAH!! And didn't have anything to say when we told them so if something happens to her on the road, they will be liable since they are stating her car is safe to drive. This dealership deserves to be closed down. Took $160 from my gf for an un-needed oil change and the diagnostic price when they didn't check the issue in the first place, that we got fixed for free at another Chevy within 15 minutes. DO NOT GO HERE. we are reporting them to the BBB.

This is the 2nd time I've purchased a Chevy thru this Advantage and the experience is wonderful every time!
My boyfriend and I walked into the dealership this past Saturday without any expectations, but interested in trading in my current vehicle (the one I also purchased at this location back in 2013). We were greeted by Diego, who is probably the most genuine sales person I have ever met. He showed us the vehicles we asked about, didn't try to talk us into anything we didn't want, and had great knowledge about every inquiry we had. He treated us like friends/family throughout the entire process, not like a man simply doing his job and making a sale, you know what I mean? We spent all afternoon there and after all was said and done, we purchased our 1st new Chevy (the one we wanted!) and got a great deal! Diego and Dennis, in finance, really went above and beyond for us. I highly recommend Diego Fernandez to anyone looking to buy a car. His customer service deserves 10 stars.

"I had been searching online for vehicles for a couple weeks, and came across a beautiful 2009 Chevy HHR at Advantage Chevrolet. My boyfriend and I went in one night to take a look at it. Tony Wyatt greeted us and was extremely knowledgable about the vehicle from the get go. We test drove it and I fell in love. It was a little out of my budget, so Tony was trying to work out a better deal for us. We went back and forth to the dealership for a few days, and each time, Tony was friendly and eager to help. He made me feel like we were old friends. His manager, Bob... not so much. I was already pre-approved for a loan through my bank, and all Bob wanted to do was try to get me a loan with their finance companies. He was NOT friendly, and I almost took my business elsewhere because of him. But Tony did the negotiating for me from that point on, and we finally came to a price both of us could agree on. So on August 3rd, I became the proud owner of my Chevy HHR. The finance guy, Mark Brown was also fantastic to work with. He explained all the paperwork I was signing thoroughly. I will definitely recommend Tony, Mark, and this dealership to anybody looking for a car, and I will most certainly come back when it's time for another vehicle of my own."

When I came into Advantage my guard was up do to the past dealings I had with other car buys, I did not want a new car. I did however want to hear about the deals they had going on since my car was over 4 years old and needed about 900 of work to it....I have to say that Joe Chiquito was such a great guy and very kind.... he really took time to hear what it was I wanted if I was to buy a new car and the best part was he even took the time to break down the cars I wanted and with the price difference ... Joe made it happen and I know that if I had to tell anyone to see a sales guy it would be him for sure...... Thank you Joe for giving me faith in car buying again.....

I had purchased a 2010 dodge grand caravan from Advantage early January, and I must say the assistance I received was a huge relief. From stepping into the building I was greeted and promptly shown to the salesman I had spoken to over the phone,Tony Wyatt. He made things as clear as possible, which for me, a first time buyer, was crucial. Over all my experience was great. Keep doing what your doing Advantage, and double for you Tony.

Bought a nice GM certified 2012 Malibu here one week ago. Before coming to the dealership, I went through almost every Chevrolet dealer carefully online to get the desired used car. They are providing the vehicle with the desired report (simply an empty sheet), with only a somewhat high odometer read (62k). While visiting there, the sale representative Chris is courteous, patient and knowledgeable of the car. During the test drive, he told me almost every detail of the car and explained things interestingly and precisely. After that, I've made my mind to buy the car. For the contract, although I did no haggle the price too much, I did concern the GM certification fee, which is somewhat unexpected. Besides, I did not totally understand how the APR is calculated when pay by loan. So before the APR shown on the contract, I did not really realize how much more I have to pay if I pay off the total amount earlier than the specified period. Finally, although the warranty extension charges were overlooked, Chris helped me to get rid of it easily. The main thing is that if Chris could explain the extra cost/interest better, and the finance manager Dan could show the exact charge of extended warranty more explicitly, I would not ever worry about the additional cost, although it was my fault to blindly sign the contract (will never do this in my lifetime). Now the vehicle has added 100 miles and I just feel it is new.

Great customer service from the reps in the Service Dept. If you have an EV and it's being serviced, make sure to request they put it on the charger before returning the vehicle back to you. I have not purchased a car from them my review is solely based on the Service Dept.

I was actually shocked how the people were friendly, i was told that all of sales are crooks at this place. I went in with my wife to test drive a car that we liked. The sales person was Omar, great sales guy, sincere, helpful. We decided to sit down and see if we can deal, i don't think they tired hard enough for our business. Omar was good, than we had another sales person (Fabian..) not really sure the name and was introduced to him as a sales manager, he would not budge on a price which i thought it what i was offering was fair. It would have been nicer if the real sales manager showed up and we dealt with him/her. I am still interested in the vehicle, and willing to go about 19,800 if they are willing? Again, good guy that i dealt with which is Omar, the car did need some attention to which i had good points, would have given it all 4 or 5 if i was not lied to about the guy Fabian or Fab about him being a manager. Clean place, friendly, again it was an okay turn out for me. I guess you have to Judge for yourself

I showed up early for my service appointment and my car was checked in promptly. I signed the $139.00 contract to have my car looked at and explained that I would wait. I was told it would take approximately an hour for my repair. At the hour 15 mark, I was called; not for my car but to upsell a new vehicle. An hour 15 later I asked about my car and they were 'just going to look for me'. The original estimate given of $150 was now $400. I refused the work and was charged another $14 shop disposal fee that was not disclosed at the beginning. I knew what the issue was with the car but was going to be charged for additional part, waited almost 3 hours for a 1 hour appointment and was tried to be upsold while I waited ~3x the time estimate. Besides for Rick, who wrote up my paperwork, the Advantage experience was terrible. This is not the first time that I have had issues with this dealership since purchasing my Chevy at this dealer, I would definitely NOT recommend this dealership or service to anyone.

I just came to see cars because I was curious of the prices, but then I found myself with Imen Kudos and he convinced me to get a new vehicle. He is a very funny and professional salesman. I couldn't be any happier with my new Chevy Cruze. I couldn't believe he has only been here for 5 months this guys seems like he's been doing this for years. I came in for an oil change on March 28, 2017. They took about 3 hours to get everything done. They wanted to sell me an air filter for $59.95. I work with cars so I knew that was a huge rip off. I said no of course who would buy that for that price seriously?!? When they finished I noticed they had cleaned the outside of my car. When I got home I noticed my driver door had the paint chipped. I called the dealer and told them about it they told me to go in so they can check it out, which was very nice. But when I first purchased the car my sales man had sold a package deal to me, which he explained would keep my car looking the way it does now. He explained that if a button fell if it would be covered, if my car got scratched it would be covered and under my car would be covered as well. So when I called yesterday I told them that either way it would be covered since I have that package plan and not one person there knew what I was talking about no one knew about the package deal. That blew my mind how is it that you guys sell it there and not know what it covers?? I was transferred to so many people and not one person knew. Today I finally get a call back from their sales manager Mark and all he had to say about his salesman is that he lied to me and that scratch is not covered and that he could get it fixed at my own cost. That all he could do was penalize my salesman. Thanks for the lies advantage. I regret getting my car with them. I wouldn't recommend going there because they will most likely lie to you as well. Not to mention they ran my credit about 5 times. Done. No stars isn't an option so I guess they can get 1.

I came here because my family member referred this dealership and said they are awesome friendly customer service representatives. I came in initially knowing I wanted to buy a new car but didn't want to spend over my budget of 15K. They explained to me how this would be a big investment that I would want to get the best I could get. They told me they could try their hardest to keep me within my monthly payment max but I could get a better vehicle if I just amp up my bugdet a little bit. I was hesistant at first but when I got the chance to see the difference in the cars I realized amping up my budget would be better in the long run. So they were able to successfully get me at a monthly payment I felt comfortable with. I am now a proud owner of a 2013 Chevy Sonic LT Turbo. I love it! I also love the little extra incentives they offer to customers. The only downside was one particular representative,Ott, was very pushy and sarcastic. It brings down your shopping experience. Other than that a great place. Highly recommended.

This was an horrible experience.The customer service is terrible. I brought a car and the car was not clean, no gas was in the car, and the salesman was not friendly nor knowledgeable about the car. I cannot even enjoy my radio because the speaker is busted. I brought the car June 3rd and I have not listened to the radio due to the loud static noise. I visited the dealership three times and still cannot get anyone to help me with solving my issues properly. I have been lied to, treated poorly, and disrespected. I am unsatisfied how I am being treated. I will not buy a car from this dealership EVER again. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am having the hardest time with this dealership and it seems like I am getting nowhere. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I would NEVER recommend buying a car from this dealership. I would not take my car back here... I ve had more than one bad experience. No customer service what so ever.

No one greets you when you walk in. When I would ask questions, the staff would seem to get annoyed.

No one here kept me in the loop with my car. The service department called after I brought my car in, never mentioned anything about the issue just asked me if I wanted to consent to them fixing it. I had to pry to get them to communicate.

When I picked up my vehicle, I had an issue with my oil consumption that no one addressed or mentioned. I had to read over the papers and continue to ask question after to question to get any answers. And just little things. They told me my car was washed and ready to be picked up, but my car was 100% not washed. No biggie, but I don t trust that the intentions at Advantage Chevrolet are ones that benefit my car, or myself.

I went into the dealership on 6/30/18 to purchase a used 2017 Hyundai Tucson. My sales rep Juan was amazing, professional and was a great pleasure to work with; however, the numbers were not adding up. They did state to me that the online price is only to get people in the door then they raise the price. For my situation they raised the price 2k. Highly disappointed that this is how they do business I decided to walk away from the so called deal. The bottom line price only kept raising and they continued to insult my intelligence. They do not honor their online price and from there I see they are unreliable and liars. I should have expected this from a Chevrolet dealer but I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. This is only my experience. I rate you 1 star.

Expensive maintenance costs, as expected at a dealership. On multiple occasions, it seemed like maintenance/repair staff was irritated when I asked questions. Very friendly salesmen, but there was at least one very pushy manager. As a result (in addition to not being happy with Chevy vehicles over the past ten years), I took my business down the road.

Came into Advantage Chevy in Hodgkins Saturday 6/20. My husband and I already knew what Vehicle we wanted as we had seen it online. We didn t even wait for help we were so excited and walked around the lot until we found the truck we wanted. I believe it was Brad who had helped us. He was super nice and helpful. This does not reflect on him what so ever! We did the test drive and parked it out front to go ahead and do paper work. Well I noticed someone els take an interest in the truck and I pointed it out but wasn t too concerned because well we showed interest first and sat down for paper work right So why worry right? Only reason this other guy saw the truck was because we parked it there.. apparently if your friends with management they ll just sell it right out from under you because who cares if you spent the last 2.5 hours going back and forth waiting. Let s just play favorites and forget all about decency and being fair. So disappointing. Would never recommend anyone go here based on management moral. We ended up at Phillips Chevy in Frankfort let them know what happed and they were so apologetic and so helpful. Drove off with my husbands truck. But shame on whom ever thought that was ok to do!

Found car online and had our own financing arranged which meant waiting for the check to arrive from out of state.

We had a bit of runaround from the internet and used car managers (Joe and Dan), after some frustrations, Brent came back after his days off and saved the day and kept my business at advantage Chevrolet.

Overall we love the car, the actual purchase was with Juan and it was smooth and painless (simply signing purchase docs and handing our banks check to finance manager).

Justine Klotz delivery specialist walked us through the OnStar, dum and app set up that we didn t even know came with the car ahead of time.

This is My 3rd Avalanche & if there is one thing that Made this Bad it's I wont be able to buy a new one again, And That's out of your control , Your team work very hard getting me into this awesome truck ,My team did the same in keeping to our budget, the avalanche came with a scratch !!! I really wish I could give 5 stars -- the people that I interacted with, all AWESOME! They were friendly and helpful. However, the service itself I cannot give 5 stars. The Thursday before July 4th I went for an oil change, where they informed me I would get a free tire rotation! great! I have never had an issue with the tires, so I figure this would be great preventative care. I waited 3 hours for an oil change. They did try to up-sell me from a $60 oil change to a $300 service, but I imagine that is part of the job, so no big deal. Didn't drive the car on the 3rd. Saturday, the 4th, my tired air pressure in my back driver's side was very low. Like, 15psi when it is usually 35psi. Weird. Called the dealership (didn't expect them to be open, fine leaving a voicemail). I figured I would hear back on Monday. Still hadn't heard anything around noon on Tuesday, so I called. Was told the earliest I could come in was Thursday afternoon...... ok, not ideal, but that is life. Thursday afternoon arrives. I wait in the waiting room for 3 hours, to then only be told there was a nail in my tire and that because no one can prove that it was gotten in the shop, that I would have to pay for the tire to be patched. While, in theory, they are correct, I just wouldn't call it the best customer service and I will not be returning to this location for any of my services. The patch cost close to $50 and when I looked at the invoice, the kit itself cost $2.50. Again, great people, just not too happy with the final result and cost.

Beware - the sales guy, Chris, told us the 12 mo. warranty on certified pre-owned GMs was an additional option for purchase. Then, when discussing the price, he offered to throw in the warranty at no extra charge. This seemed deceptive, given that GM clearly states that its CPO vehicles come with the warranty included at no charge. Regardless of whether the tactic was intentional, it was not a positive shopping experience.

My service experience was great. Krystal was friendly and easy to work with, and the work was done on time. The technician forgot to reset the oil life indicator, which isn't a big deal. The reason I gave you a "6" in question number 2 is because the process of purchasing the car last May was a bit of a nightmare that took hours longer than it should have. I'm happy with the deal we got, but because the price was agreed to in advance and our financing was approved, it was very aggravating that concluding the transaction took nearly 7 hours when the deal was essentially done before we walked into the dealership. My unhappiness is with the Advantage management and sales staff, not the service department.

The first time I went into Advantage Chevrolet in Hodgkins, It was so busy I couldn't even find a place to park my car. I did see they had the car I wanted and spoke to a gentleman who helped explain the difference in all the Chevy Spark Cars. I wasn't ready to buy just yet, and he was busy but he was very helpful, so I left and went back almost a week later, June 21.

Customer Service has really lost it flair over the years, but not at Advantage Chevrolet in Hodgkins. I was with my husband, we were greeted by Maurice Redeaux, who was very helpful to us finding the right Spark that would fit our needs and budget. He called over Mike Armstrong who also was very helpful with getting us the price we wanted for the New Car.

The overall experience, although long it was just fine. Im really glad we went back. I got EXACTLY what I wanted in the car we bought and for a great price.

At first I was happy and supportive of this dealership. Now I m not and understand the true part of them.

I got a new car from here, Civic Coupe Touring. After I got home I noticed the minder reminder stated I was due for a new oil change and brake fluid bleeding/change. But note the oil life was at 90 percent. So I thought the technician must of forgotten to reset the system. So after calling so many times and asking to make sure these were completed during the PRE INSPECTION STATUS, I ve been ignored and not a single help.

Clearly bad service and would not recommend MELINDA MELENDEZ, she is the most horrible and disrespectful person at the service station. I m going to take my car to a Honda dealership from now on, horrible service and this dealership wouldn t make it long.

My vehicle was supposed to have the autoguard process performed on it. It does not seem that they did that - the car is not shiny and the paint is not silky smooth, like when it has been done before. It seems they just washed the car, and that is it.

Also, my average miles per gallon dropped SEVEN mpg (from m26.5 mpg to 19.2 mpg) while at the dealership. My car must have been idling the whole time they washed it.

NOT SATISFIED at all. I will not buy another car from this dealership. The quality of service has deteriorated over the years.

Their slogan is that you do not play pricing games but I got the total opposite. The salesman says he went to tall to his manager and came back with a price that was higher than the internet price tried to disguise it as the warranty.



I bought my previous car there many years ago with no problems.

Bought a 2010 Ford Expedition EL there two weeks ago. They had to redo the paperwork 3 times after trying to keep the vehicle higher than agreed on OTD price. Went to pull it out radio wasn't working. Told us they wouldn't even take a look at it. Ran the codes on the truck the anti theft was activated by a bad key used called to ask about it two weeks ago never called back. Still haven't heard about if we can get our tags. And want to know why the radio and SYNC isn't working.

I went here to buy a car for my wife and walked in to talk to a salesman first guy I talk to I tell him looking for a Impala he goes how's your credit I'm like good but can I look at some cars he asks me for my name and #ss I tell him look I want to look before you do anything he gets a bad attitude with me he made my wife and I very uncomfortable we decided we will take our business somewhere else that gives customers better service. They need a class in training on customer service.

02/12/17- If I can give this review a negative (-5 )star I would. Their mechanics did not fix our 2009 chevy traverse. My mom and I originally took our SUV in for water pump issues and a smoking engine. They end up charging us $1,059.32. The next day the SUV was leaking water and antifreeze and shaking/bouncing when I would accelerate on the gas. We left our vehicle with them overnight and noticed the two front tires were stolen/replaced without our knowledge by two bald tires. Last, but not least they ruined the front struts on the vehicle by having it suspended over 24 hours. I cannot recommend this place to anybody!!!! I will be reporting them to GM, The IL attorney general office and the Better Business Bureau. Please do not go here! My mom takes pride in our chevy vehicles and she was in tears all night. Beware! took my 2005 corvette in for an oil change and told them to check out the rear passenger tire sensor, the rest of the tire pressure sensors worked fine. was told i need a diagnostic test that costs $160 so they could fix the problem. they did the test, now three sensors are not working right and am being told it would be $600 to replace the old sensors. somehow they broke two of the sensors that were fine before i went there. go to jack phelan chevy instead, lesson learned.

Today I had the first complimentary service on my newly purchased 2017 Equinox and, as usual, Advantage Chevrolet exceeded my expectations. I had an appointment and was met at the door by the mechanic, Chris. He knew exactly what I was there for, checked me in, then led me to the customer waiting area which was clean, organized, and had fresh coffee. They were finished with work in record time and returned my car which they had washed and detailed. Wow!

When I started my search for a car, I thought I wanted another Escape. I am so happy that the people at the Ford dealership I went to were unhelpful and rude because that forced me to look elsewhere for a car. Advantage Chevrolet has impressed me from the beginning!

3rd time I was given a price on service and 3rd time they doubled or tripled the price. Corporate headquarters will hear of this and I've been a customer for many years. This is the last time I will waste another day for nothing. And still was charged for coming in. What a wasted day.
BBB will also be getting a letter. My mom is elderly and this shouldn't happen! Although jim and Philip tried to lower the former estimate, I refuse to ever deal with this dealership again. Many years of good service wasted because of trying to price gauge. I'll go to he competitor. And wait till I start my other reviews. I'm so damn disappointed in my last three experiences for sure, as I have always loved this dealership.
