Arbor Memorial (Brampton Funeral Home and Cemetery...

Arbor Memorial (Brampton Funeral Home and Cemetery) is a SCAM!!! Stay away!
They convinced me to take out a monthly payment plan for a pre arranged funeral that had a $10,000 fee. Imagine having to pay $10,0000 in interest on a service that has not yet been provided. When I tried to cancel, they refused to reimburse me. They take advantage of people in crisis and the elderly. Go to Wards or Scott s instead.

Not surprised to see all other's views after my own experiences. Unethical policy, cold hearted sales rep, rude manager intimidating you when you have requested something. I was so surprised by such unprofessional behaviors. The customer service at head office is ignoring your complain or concerns, only to picking out if you made any error. I made error because of their incomprehensive numbering system. Cold hearted people working in a wrong profession.

Went there to make arrangements but ended up stopping the meeting and walking out...........

My impression of Arbor Memorial sales staff at their Glenwood facility is actually sad. They are not only strongly controlled by company policies put in place to make big money but the sales staff themselves also appear to be motivated by profits. It didn t take long to figure out that the best interest of the customer does not come first with this funeral provider.

I found a better place.

During this pandemic, I can't believe that the funeral homes that are runned by Arbor Memorial are charging a full fee for half the service, limited to certain people that can attend. This is price gauging. Some locally owned funeral homes visitors are able to line up outside, similar to grocery store. Why is Arbor making it difficult?

As others have mentioned, a year or so ago the Toronto Star published an expose of their self-serving lies, e.g. embalming a body will protect your family against disease, they don't/can't sell cardboard coffins, that various expensive additions are required by law, etc. Have they changed much in one year? If you want to chance it, record the conversation, tell them "we'll get back to you", and check out at least a couple other funeral providers, especially the small guys. A simple cremation, for example, should cost about $2,000. Arbor operates under different names depending on where you live, like Sands Memorial in Vancouver, so do a little research beforehand.

Expensive but necessary, often misunderstood but overall quality is present, both in products and services.

Unfortunately like many purchases made throughout a life time this is one that no one wants to make but must do so at certain times in life. The heightened nature of many families and the grief they feel can lead to negative sour feelings. Overall I am very happy with the services and products provided.

Glendale Memorial staff highly unprofessional, arrogant, and sarcastic. God forbid you should question them on their high prices and double charging in areas on their forced upon package (as they claim is mandatory - which it's not) as they become incredibly defensive and can't give straight answers.
They're only "nice and pleasant" when they want your money, but become rude when you question them on their pricing.

We had them at our home for preplanning cremation for myself and husband. They were shamelessly overpriced and the one agent very pushy. We declined to sign up, thankfully. Saw the Market Place documentary it confirmed what we felt.. For the quote we could have paid more than 3x cremation package. It is disgusting that families in their time of grief can be so taken advantage off. We signed up with another independent funeral home. I recommend start your enquiries with the Memorial Society , a good source.

Not sure about the rest of their services but the on line live video feed for recent memorial service for my Aunt that passed away was a complete failure for us. We tried logging on from Australia. The information forwarded in advance on how to log in was inaccurate, the video link didn't work, there was no way to get help/service so we missed it. Apparently the whole thing was running significantly late but there was no way for people logging on to know this. This is analogous to the photographer for your wedding forgetting to put film in their camera. If it doesn't work well it isn't like you can do it again next week. Very frustrating and very very disappointing.

Horrendous organization; staff takes advantage of people at their most vulnerable - pushing products that aren't required, at inflated prices, but that's not where it ends; sales reps will continue to call in an attempt to pressure people into pre-paying for their services. One rep even had the gall to use the memory of my parents to hook me. I will jump into the ocean before I ever use Arbor.

My nephew's service was last Thursday. My nephew was a big fan of Star Wars, Star Trek, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin. The Morris Sutton Funeral Home in Windsor, Ontario, displayed the Star Wars and Star Trek models nicely and his Air Cadet badges. During the visitation and service, his favourite music was played. I saw one of the Directors roaming around with Princess Leia bun hair style, and at first I thought it was coincidental. As the service began, the Star Wars theme was piped into the chapel and the 3 Women Directors marched down the centre aisle - all three wearing Princess Leia buns. It was an outstanding personalized touch that honoured him perfectly.
