Have visited couple of times. Doctors are very professional and takes thorough examination. However, I found receptionist to be a bit rude.

Had a short surgery, didn't really have any issues like other reviewers have mentioned

i had shingles, i went to a female dr here and she gave me steroids, i thought this was odd and her manner was aggressive (and made no effort to build rapport) so i went to another dr who was shocked she had given me medication which would only further suppress my immunity, as i past the time period to take the anti viral meds i only had my immunity to fight it. I will never go back to her ever again. I was very unwell and she only made it worse.

I have visited a few times. Dr Yuen is terrible. He didn't recognise me the 3rd time I met him (meeting on a regular basis) which made me feel very poor. He also told me false information. However, Judi the nurse is great. I was so nervous getting all my immunisations but she understood and did a great job. The staff in clin labs are fantastic aswell. The lady made me feel really comfortable.

Always easy to get an appointment, I've never had to wait long and always friendly and professional care

Staff are so friendly, Judi is the absolute best!! So helpful and really explained everything I needed to know.
Can't thank you enough.

Good place if referred there. Very busy. Helpful Staff hard to find.

Really horrible service. I went in for immunisations for Hep A. I did not want hep B immunisation as I had all my hep B vaccinations and my blood test said I was in the clear. Doctor gave me Twinrix WITHOUT explaining to me it was a hep A and B mix. I only found out once the immunisation nurse told me AFTER i got it and once I already paid $95. I told the doctor it was for my placement in x time as well and he gave me a course which would not be completed by that time regardless. I went to complain to the clinic manager that the doctor was not attentive and was shocked. The receptionist had to grab my papers and hand it to her and then the clinical manager came out to me and talked me down. She did not ask ME what happened and she didn t even invite me into a private space. She talked to me in the waiting room where everyone can hear. She cut me off multiple times, she was not listening at all. She also stated that it wasn t the wrong immunisation which yes it is because it s not the one I asked for regardless. If you asked for just a car battery replacement but your mechanic does other things that you clearly stated you did not want and you get charged for it that s deceptive. The clinic manager also said that she knows nothing about this topic which is rather odd since she was cutting me off every 2 seconds without letting me finish explaining my actual problem. Instead she focused on the fact that it s still a hep A immunisation and that the doctor decided to give me Hep B to boost my levels. That is irrelevant and I don t believe that. I went to multiple doctors and nurses, even another doctor in the SAME clinic and they all agreed I did not need a hep B booster at all. Even if I did need a hep B booster you can not just decide to give me one without letting me know. When I found out it would complicate my placement time, I went in to ask for help for a solution and to let the clinic know about this mistake so it wouldn t happen to other students instead I just got even more poor treatment. This was also one of many bad experiences I had at the clinic but I ve only made a complaint about this. I hope the clinic tries to bounce off feedback rather than attacking the person giving the feedback. If there wasn t an issue I wouldn t go to the effort of all this.

I lost a fight with a Stanley knife which ended with a deep cut through my thumb. Amazingly efficient and friendly staff got me straight in to clean and stitch it up. 25 minutes after the incident it was stitched and wrapped up, and that's including an 8 minute drive and me fainting...

Have been going to this clinic for around 4 years. The first doctor I saw there, a female, was atrocious. Unbelievably rude and dismissive and worst of all, patronising. She was negligent in her practice; would hardly let me talk and then rush me out as soon as possible without discussing her diagnosis. She once told me to drink Milo to help with my B12 and iron deficiency, and after I protested that I didn't want to drink it because of all the sugar, she snapped at me that there was none in Milo. I checked at the store...nearly 50% sugar. A small thing but nonetheless ridiculous behaviour from a medical professional.

However the female doctor I'm seeing now is significantly better. She genuinely cares about my health and will engage in a rounded discussion with me about my problems. I have heard that the male doctors are better aswell.

The nurse and desk staff are ok.

No matter how good the doctors are or aren't, you will always have to deal with the condescending, bitter and hostile desk staff. They usually don't even answer the phone until 45mins after opening time. There has been a recent change of ownership so hopefully the new owners will get some professionalism into the reception area. In the meantime, think of this centre as a last resort.

Never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect by multiple gp's. Not only that I was given factually inaccurate medical information regarding medication and had days wasted by them running me around with false assurances.

I took my three year old son to see Dr Farid Alam today to get stitches out, and was impressed by the natural way in which the doctor engaged with my son and made him feel comfortable. I don't normally write reviews, but, as the Clinic has received some bad reviews, I just felt it worth pointing out that the Medical Centre is now under new management with completely new doctors. I myself visited the centre a couple of times, a few years ago, and left unimpressed. But today the place had a different (and welcoming) feel.

Receptionist and doctors are not friendly at all, they always look like they r over it, i been there few times, but it always disappointed me,

My experience at this centre was atrocious. I was treated rudely by the desk staff, but especially the female doctor in attendence, a Dr. Crilly (please reviewers, name the doctor- that way others can avoid the right ones, and also not judge innocent doctors who may work from the same clinic).
Dr Crilly was rude- verging on nasty- with no attempt to establish any rapport whatsoever. The medical certificate she issued in my opinion deliberately implied that I was not really ill, despite my supplying her with extensive information on my history.
Truly some of the worst treatment ever received from any clinic, and any doctor.
Appalling.

Absolutely love Dr Farid! Extremely professionally and very obvious that he has a lot of experience as it shows.

Wasted my time, never going there again. Appointment at 10:15, was there 5 min earlier, 2 people came a while after me and still got seen by the gp before me. I waited for 35 minutes past the appointment time, I go to the receptionist and she says, sorry I'll cancel the appointment for you. No discussions. If I could give it -5 stars, I would. Never again.

New doctors, new reception staff and an awesome nurse! Have had nothing but fantastic post-operative care from the team. Bulk billing for La Trobe Uni staff and students and some of the doctors will bulk bill all patients. I can't thank them enough!

The only place that has ever taken my mum's health seriously; we've been attending latrobe now since January 2019 and honestly in 15 years they have been the only clinic to help and take our health seriously. Special shout out to the lovely reception staff (particularly Meghan) who's understanding and quick action have potentially saved a life. So much gratitude

Receptionist wouldn't let me talk to the Dr. Regarding blood results from hospital. He used to work near my area and now had moved to LTU medical centre which is too far to see him. I didn't know that he had left the old clinic. If he were still stayed at his old clinic, the staff there are much more helpful and would put me on hold to talk to the Dr. Whereas this lady suggested me to go to another doctor. Receptionist is really bad.

They misdiagnosed a broken toe despite getting an X-Ray on it. I would reccommend going somewhere else.

I only go here because you can get an appointment easily and they are quick to write medical certificates. Doctors here are hit and miss, I wouldn't recommend taking the risk if you're in a potentially serious condition. Best doctor I've had here still gave me a script for antibiotics without telling me why. Worst doctor I've had here (recently) focused all his effort on telling me I don't have corona, how not to spread corona, protect your elderly friends and family from corona, don't go to parties or you'll get corona, yada yada yada... Did not tell me what is actually going on with me, eventually told me it /might/ be a cold or flu without offering any further advice.

A female doctor at LTU private hospital misdiagnosed me last month! That was horrible. After 2 weeks, I felt extremely sore and went to Austin hospital. As a result, I had to have a surgery because I didn't get right treatment early. :( Now, all I want to say is WTF did her do?!

If you need blood tests or immunisations for University placement this is the place to go.

I spent 6 months going back a forth with my current medical institution including unnecessary vaccinations before giving up and coming to the LaTrobe University Medical Centre instead.

Nurse Judi fixed up my vaccinations and forms in 2 days and was able to submit straight away. Very happy with the reception staff and doctors too!

Don't what ever you do, go to this clinic! The staff are rude and condescending. Similar to all these other people I saw that hideous female doctor Dr Crilly. She was so nasty!! I asked for an injection which has been prescribed to me for years, and she starts yelling at me telling me that this injection has severe side effects. I was never told about such side effects, and I would assume that them being doctors they would tell me what they are. Anyway, I said, can I please have it anyway? Not only did she yell at me as if I was a school child, she was yelling at me telling me I need to get a pap smear done first, and it didn't matter whether I'd done it before or not, because it must be done at that clinic (which ironically I had actually done it in that clinic only a couple of days before anyway) so I went on to tell her to maybe check my file before yelling out demands, and then she forced me to have a pregnancy test. I felt violated and so angry that thanks to her I refuse to see doctors ever again.

I think I had unpleasant experience with one of the female doctors. Doctor Mernon is however, kind and caring and I have been visiting her whenever I feel anything worth checking. Had a male physiotherapist in this place before and he was good.

Nurse Judi was phenomenal, she was professional and empathetic and went above and beyond to ensure I had the best care. Would recommend this clinic!

Best Medical center in Victoria . Best Doctors I.e. Dr. Rafiq . Always gives best advice and treat thoroughly and Best Nurse & best reception staff. Always helpfull and understands the emergency of appointment and find the suitable way and time to see the doctor. Thanks to all team . Recommend everyone.

I ve come here before previously and the practice has been ok overall. However, today I had an appointment at 1:00 pm, arrived at 12:50 and still have had to wait to see the doctor for over an hour and see patients that we re waiting after me go in with the doctor supposed to see me. Not even a sorry when I approached the reception to ask what was going on. I had other commitments, arrived on time and me loosing my time was completely disregarded. Unacceptable and unprofessional. Also, very disappointed that for a long time they have not had a female doctor available. Very disappointed with my experience today.

Nurse Judi was an absolute god-send. She was helpful, professional and went above and beyond to find answers for me. Everything in the clinic happened in a timely and positive way, and I was pleasantly surprised by how little I had to wait for Nurse and Pathology services

I should give -100 star to this center's receptionist. My son got a big lump on his eye lid and referred by GP to Dr. Ehud Zamir. The receptionist can't wait for me to finish my sentence but keep taking other calls. I just want to say that if your service is like this, nobody will be able to see any doctor. My son is only 2 years old and she told me that the earliest appointment is on February, then said "you can go to another specialist". You are so rude, Lady? Is such person qualified to be your receptionist? Don't you know what respection is?

I couldn't get into my usual clinic for 5 days so tried La Trobe Medical Centre and got an appointment within 30 minutes. Excellent and knowledgeable attention from Dr Farid Alam and friendly follow up call from nurse Judy after pathology results showed a need for medication adjustment. Seriously considering severing my 30+ year relationship with my usual clinic.

The worst experience at the doctors that I have ever had. I cannot speak for the professionalism of the other doctors but Dr Yuen was incredibly rude and condescending and I would never recommend his services to another patient.

I visited this clinic, back when I lived on campus at La Trobe university.
Upon making my first appointment, I arrived to be greeted by dismissive staff. I waited for half an hour before getting to see my doctor. Upon going in I was asked what I thought was wrong with me, rather than asking what brought me there today.
I had come in for a female health checkup, as I have ovarian cysts which need to be monitored regularly to make sure they are not at risk of bursting. I have had these check ups many times before at my old GP's clinic and was fine with what it entailed.
But during that appointment, I was bossed about, had my body touched in unneccessary places without warning or consent and treated in a patronising manner, before being given a misdiagnosis and sent off for blood tests.
I had always had good experiences with doctors before this visit and am usually fine with physical examinations, even if they are uncomfortable, because I have been treated with dignity and respect.
Coming home from La Trobe Medical Centre, I felt violated. No one should ever be treated as I was here. I recommend you find any other clinic than this one to get treated.

Dr Menon is the doctor you want to see. She's incredibly kind and actually cares about people.

I had a wonderful experience here today for my first visit. The doctor I saw genuinely cared for me as did all of the staff and the fantastic nurse Judy! I was well looked after and all of my questions were answered with a smile. Going to the doctors is usually quite scary and confronting for me and I would like to thank everyone at La Trobe Medical Centre for making me feel comfortable and respected.

I originally got my immunisation documents signed by my family doctor, who incorrectly filled it out and also made me get vaccines I didn't need to get, and at the wrong times therefore costing me excess money. Judy was so helpful, she fixed everything for me, signed the forms correctly, went above and beyond as to call up necessary organisations and sort out immunisations that weren't fully processed, obtaining other records and clarifying what I needed/didn't need. She reassured me, remained very transparent and honest, and earned my trust as one of the only nurses I trust with immunisations! She is amazing!

You can find whatever you need here in this modern plantation branded as university clinics. They hire other Indians to treat indians. Amazing place, don't get shocked if the doctor dismisses you without even listening your stuff. I went there, it took less than 100 seconds for him to dismiss me and said "come back on thursday if you feel worse".

Only 70$. Second consultation another 70$. So that you can at least get a shot with the antibiotics. Wondering since when these people got that sensitive on antibiotic resistance, oh wait a second he comes from a country where they have 1.3 billion people using antibiotics everyday with their livestock.

I had to come in for wound dressings for seven consecutive days. The care that the medical staff (in particular nurse Judy) have provided for me is some of the best I've experienced. Not only has she been understanding of my anxiety, but also a fantastically open communicator, and has even gone to the effort of tracking down my old vaccination record (something I had only mentioned in passing).

Coming from someone who has developed a certain cynicism toward medical institutions over the years, the rapport I sense with the staff here makes me feel a lot more confident about my healthcare in general.

I, fortunately, do not need to visit a GP often. Of the times I have, I have had positive and constructive experiences except for this one.

I booked an appointment for 9:00am on Wednesday. The clinic s opening times are from 8am-5pm. The doctor I was seeing came in at around 9:15am and I was seen at around 9:20am.
Upon seeing the doctor, her tone was very abrupt she did not allow me to finish any of my sentences explaining the history of my condition and at what stage I was currently at. The doctor then began to explain to me in a very defensive tone how she felt extremely offended playing second fiddle to a chiropractor.

I do not question the doctor s ability and training as a physician, but rather the attitude was very abrasive, and she did not seem to listen to me when I tried to explain the context of the situation.
I was informed that the doctor could not provide any referral until she saw an xray report, to which I completely understand the reasoning behind this. I was advised to provide the report and was left with the impression she would contact me if another appointment was required.

I provided the clinic with a copy of the xrays and a report from my chiropractor the very next morning (Thursday). I handed this to the receptionist who told me she would pass the information on to the doctor.

I rang the office on Friday to follow up on the outcome. I was advised very abruptly by the receptionist that she had not been told anything about it . I accepted this and told her that I would wait to hear back from the doctor, to which she replied OK .

I then followed up again on the Monday of the following week at 4:15pm to see if the doctor had reviewed the xrays and what the outcome was. Again, the receptionist very abruptly told me that she didn t have any messages from the doctor, but the doctor had reviewed the Xrays. Confused, I asked what the next step is from here, to which her reply was It is up to you to follow this up and book another appointment . I told her I would ring back to make an appointment.

Called to book an appointment at 4:50 on Monday, but the office had closed early it seemed.

I called the practice again on Tuesday morning at around 9am. After being put on hold for over 15 minutes (during which time, the hold music/announcements had informed me that doctors are available to contact you via phone re: results), I was able to make an appointment for the next day. I found it a waste of time to take time off work and come in to see a doctor just to find out if something can be done. After seeing the same doctor (who, this time, was running over 25 minutes behind schedule), I was told that there was not much could be done. A phone call for this would have sufficed.

Rude and clueless staff. Both doctor and nurse. Would avoid.

I have been a patient on and off at this Clinic for numerous years now - my original Doctor was Dr Moffitt for over ten years but unfortunately he kept moving around so much it became more difficult to make appointments and to be honest the places he chose to work were not that welcoming - I decided to return to Latrobe Medical Clinic and have had no regrets whatsoever - I see the most wonderful Dr Farid Alam (this may sound bias but I feel he is the best Doctor there) - but do not get me wrong I have had the opportunity having been treated by the other Doctors there also and found them to be good listeners and not in a rush to move you on for their next patient waiting. Nurse Judy is the best - she is always welcoming and up for a chat with you as are all the staff on Reception. You do not feel like just a number when you are there - their welcome is sincere and I find them all just lovely people. I will always continue to attend this Clinic as even in an emergency they bend over backwards to get you in to see a Doctor and everything is there if you need to have blood tests, x-rays, scans etc - definitely 5+ Stars from me - I always leave satisfied and with a smile.

Dr.Edward lam Is one of the greatest doctors there. He not only takes his time dealing with your situation, he runs through everything considering all options to find the right one for you! I would highly recommend him for any type of mens sexual health.

If I could give a minus review I would! Absolutely disgusting!!! We waited an hour and a half past appointment time only to be told it's cash only. When we said oh we saw a sign saying card accepted the doctor aggressively said don't argue and shook his hands. He also really aggressively tapped my partner's head where needed to be examined to the point I heard the contact on the hit on his skull and my partner had to pull away in pain. Very terrible service awful mannered doctor!! If you want to be treated well don't see dr boon hong. So the waiting room was disgusting! Some kind of yellow splatter on the hand sanitizer and wall. Such poor hygiene...

Has gone downhill since going private. Why am I paying more for a worse service? Doctor was lazy and uninterested. Made mistakes on the med cert. This has never been an amazing clinic but that was forgivable as it was 100% bulk billed - have to provide a better service if you expect people to pay for it.
