Ace Adventure Resort Review

It was a great adventure for sure. Lots of inflatable things to climb, ride and slide on. Has a nice kiddie area and beach. Zip lining, the huge slide and the blob are a must. Some of the inflatables areba challenge to get on. Food was great and the people who work there are very nice. Would definitely like to go there again.

Wonderful staff was prepared and welcomed us immediately.

My friends and I had a blast at Ace. We did the 2 day upper and lower gauley. The guides are real pros and very personable. They fed us lunch, dinner, breakfast, and lunch over the 2 days. I would highly recommend Ace Adventure for your adventure.

We did the Zip-Line Canopy Tour - Half Day. It was AMAZING! The scenery was beautiful. Our guides Laura, Larissa and Katy we so fun, experienced and made the trip the BEST! The pace was just right and never felt we were rushing through it and was able to enjoy the scenery. Such an unforgettable day! Thank you!

I had the pleasure of rafting with Ace 2 time, the first time my family stayed for 2 weeks and we did everything, raft, horseback riding,camping with my sister and my brother Rich, 2nd time I fly in for 2 days and away we went, THANK TO THE BEST guide, BRUCE

Omg I LOVED ACE Adventure Resort. To begin with, the cabins were amazing. The veiw in any direction was completely astonishing. I was amazed how all of the ACE staff was completely friendly. I definitely recommend on going on a hike. All round, I'd say my trip to ACE was one in a million.

This was a great experience for me. I have never been white water rafting before but the group that I was with and the guide that accompanied us was outstanding. I will definitely be returning.

We had a blast here. What a great idea. I kinda want to build a lake back home and recreate this place! The staff was friendly. There was plenty of space to not feel crowded when the place got packed in the afternoon. The food was decent. Come Monday, all the old folks are sore cause we thought we could keep up with the kids all day.

So much fun! Can't wait to go back. Only wish it was more affordable, if you have more then one child it can get pricey.

This is the perfect place to take my children and their friends to have a great time in the summer. We love this place!

Perfect place for a family Water park trip. Natural waters, no harsh chemicals, beautiful scenery all around.

Best family vacation EVER!! We did a full day rafting trip on the lower New River with guide "Puppy" (aka Chris). We felt very, very safe with his guidance. He was easygoing and pleasant, and made it clear exactly what to expect. Very knowledgeable and informative about the history, geology, trees and plants, etc. Rapids were a BLAST. Our 10- and 14-year olds agreed it was the best part of the trip. Light misty rain all day did not detract from our enjoyment at all. Don't be put off by a rainy forecast.

Lake was a lot of fun for everyone. Inflatables are not as easy as they look! You will get your exercise with them. Plenty of waterside activities, too -- beach volleyball, cornhole, giant chess.

Cabin was clean and neat. Amazingly insect and mold free. Mailbox system for fresh towels worked great. Fire pit, hot tub were nice to have after our busy days.

Food was very good and reasonably priced. Generous breakfast buffet with real scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, muffins, toast, fresh fruit, waffles (or French toast, or pancakes), etc. We did not purchase the dinner plan, but the Lost Paddle had a great assortment of wood-fired pizzas, burgers and sandwiches.

This place is a one-stop shop for all things outdoors. It has really grown over the last 20 years that we've been coming here. The buffet breakfast was ideal before days on the water. We stayed in a chalet that was clean, quiet, and walking distance to all the other amenities.

Great place the kidshada blast. Gonna go back and camp...

Professional guides, good prices, great organization.

The workers are very dirty. I'm a bit overweight and they wouldn't let me do ziplining. Before they had closed we were like "We're gonna go down the slide then go" but when we got to the very top there was someone about to go down but the worker told us we had to walk down and go. If you're over 140 you can barely get on the inflatables. I will not be coming back. Would not recommend

This place is absolutely amazing!!! From the staff at check in/check out to the bartenders, lifeguards, guides and the chefs! Everything was perfect! The cabins a beautiful the people are awesome! We are definitely coming back!!!

Ace Adventure Resort was a very fun trip with all the obstacles you climb over and food and drinks you can get.

Great facilities and location. We brought 11 boy scouts who were thoroughly entertained, educated, and were thoroughly tired at the end of each day. River rafting, water park, zip lines, and mountain biking were excellent. Great trails through the mountains and along the rivers.

It's in the middle of nowhere, and the inflatables for the lake are incredibly hard to get on, at least for me. The repelling and rock climbing was pretty fun though. Just make sure you get the better cabins, the beds are rough.

Ziplining was amazing!! Our guides were so much fun and the views were great!!

Stayed at the resort for 2 nights in a Cabin tent. Awesome experience. The river rafting experience was great too!

Party party, beer swilling til 2 in the morning. Loud music and inconsiderate campers in the secluded camp ground.
Tent camping is crowded, although in assigned areas. Counter Staff is very friendly, though not knowledgeable in the basics.

Me and my wife came here for 4 day's and was amazed by how beautiful it is! We rented one of the cabins and done the lower New River day trip. The guide was great, the scenery is beautiful, and we had a blast! There is so much to do and we will definitely be back!

Great rafting experience and experienced crew which can make your trip exciting and equally funny!

The white water rafting is definitely worth it. I was scared out of my mind. But had so much fun, and glad I did it. Enjoy it and dont stress.

Wow...wow...wow.. we had the time of our life here. The staff is second to none! I consider them people of passion. Everyone in knowledgeable and love what they do. No doubt visitors will have a great time. If you don't.. you aren't living!

I just visited the water park on the lake and my experience was horrible. So many climbing handles and different things were broken, making it hard to climb onto some of the equipment, and honestly the floats in the lake are pretty painful. Almost every slide or float I got on was painful in some way. For lunch my boyfriend and I decided to get some pizza from the wood fire pizza place and it was absolutely disgusting and tasted like a bad frozen pizza. The food pricing it too expensive for the actual quality of the food. My boyfriend and I both paid for the price of the full day ticket instead of the half day ticket, but we ended up leaving after four hours because of how awful our experience was. They also have rules to how many people can be on one float at the same time, but this rule is not strictly enforced, causing people to get hurt. Overall, my whole experience coming here was a bad idea and I DEFINITELY won t be back and wouldn t recommend anyone else visiting here as well.

The resort was very well organized and the location is wonderful. The rooms were a bit small but that encouraged you to get outside.

Went for Fourth of July weekend and had a great experience. Chickenhead was our rafting instructor for the lower new river (full day trip) and he was definitely the x factor. Would highly suggest rafting with him. Genuine guy, with great stories and knowledge of the river. I called around to all the various places and it seems you get the most bang for your buck with Ace. Incredibly clean bathrooms and even heated showers after a long day of rafting. They provided a hearty lunch halfway through the trip which was both delicious and accommodating for the vegetarians. Definitely returning with friends!

Great whitewater rafting, very nice accommodations, and the lake is really fun! All of the staff are very friendly.

Our rafting experience was definitly a 5 star experience! The weather was great, the water felt amazing, and we had a very cool, calm, and collected guide. Ask for Jason on Saturdays! He was so informative about the entire river, he led us to have a great experience and we cant wait to go back...maybe even before the season is over! He even sent us a thank you card! Was just sad we didnt get to give him a proper thank you and farewell...we understood because his animals were waiting on him at home :) Lydia was great help at the welcome center! Our only complaint is when we went to the bar and grill...lady said they already had our credit card on file so we ordered away...only to find out they added 20% because we didn't close it out. The only way of knowing was a little hand written card...had we seen it. We just assumed if they had our card on file what more needed done. We camped in our RV...was nice and quiet. We missed out on the water park because it rained...bummer! Also...props to John the cameraman for filming our rafting experience. Weve watched it multiple times and shared with friends to pump them up to get out there!!

Amazing place! So many options/things to do. We loved our stay and white water rafting trip. Nugget was the best guide!

Had an absolutely blast white water rafting with ACE. The guide, Mike, was incredible. He read the water well and did a great job ensuring all those aboard had a great time. Before rafting we arrived early and took the overlook hike (about 2.5 miles). Perfect way to kill some time with a great view at the end. Don't limit yourself to just rafting and hiking... they have a multitude of activities to participate in and a wicked water park with tons of fun inflatables. Would highly recommend this as a place for all those looking for adventure at ACE, whether for a day trip or several days. Only complaint was the cashier in gift shop was very rude to use when we tried to tip our tour guide. She was very irritated that we were not given our guides last name and was very sassy when we informed her of this. It was eventually resolved and hopefully Mike got our tip! Everyone else we interacted with was top-notch.

Ace is a fantastic place for fun. Great rafting guides and they are constantly expanding the resort. The resort is loaded with stuff to do.

This place is so much fun!!! The camps sites were clean as well as the bathrooms. Our trip reservation was so easy with the help of Agnes. She made sure we knew everything we needed to and was able to answer all of our questions. Our first night we went down to the Lost Paddle and Heather was great and welcoming serving us the best drinks and food. Our first adventure was an all day rafting trip and Andrew was a great river guide. In fact, we had Andrew again the next day on a half river trip. Thanks Andrew for a great experience!!! The zip lining is a must!! Josh and Laurel were awesome guides during this trip. We also used the kids camp and highly recommend. Laurel was our kid camp guide and she was so awesome with our daughter! Thank you Ace for a great time. We definitely look forward to returning!

Came for the whitewater rafting and was lucky to have Basil as our raft guide. The man absolutely loves his job and knows the river so well. He made the trip so enjoyable with a lot of fun facts along the ride and recommended beautiful hikes in the area. Everyone here is so attentive. I didn t know where to go at the resort a couple of times and each time someone physically took me rather than just pointing me in the direction of what I was looking for. I did the lower new river and The views were breath taking. Views I had only seen in movies and dreamed of. I definitely recommend this place for your rafting needs. Or any adventure for that matter.

I had a fantastic time and enjoyed my stay. Lots to do that is not too far away.

Ace was great! We stayed in the cabin tents which were big and clean. The river guides were very personable and knowledgeable about rafting and the river. Highly recommend!

A great family vacation! They have a ton of inflatables to play on over the lake. I suggest getting a half day pass instead of a full day, you'll be tired after just a few hours of climbing on the inflatables.

Ace was awesome! It was my first time rafting so I was pretty nervous, but our instructor Craig was very helpful and very entertaining. I did notice that Ace does surfing which was so much fun and it looked like not all the other companies did, at least not on the same rapids. I would definitely come back here for the New again or Gauley which came very highly recommended!

Great place for outdoor memories with friends and family. A wide variety of activities from which to choose. Diverse skill levels addressed. Great cabins to rent. 15 minutes from suburban resources. Easy to get off grid. Friendly staff.

We went to the park on a Saturday. It was very busy, especially later in the day. Everyone enjoyed themselves and was worn out by the end of the day. Id recommend going on a less busy day of the week if you can, however we still had fun.

What does this place not have! Rock climbing, zip lines, water park, white water rafting.... there is something for everyone. We spend the last two days and have been exhausted after all the fun. If you do the water park have some arm strength to enjoy the floats more!

Fun place for kids and a bar for adults to get some liquid relaxation

This place is good. The staff know what they're doing and you won't see a better place then this. They have lake toys for people to play on. And whitewater rafting is a blast. The guides are the best people ever. They are so laid back. Their food could be better, but you can't ask for much more.

The worst thing that I hate to do is post a bad review, this is review is an update from a previous 1star rating. My wife and I returned to Ace on 7/7/17, first thing we checked out was the tent, that I had issues with. They have REPLACED all of their tents that were not suitable, not only that the food, that I had given a 1 star, we checked out, the food was hot at the resturant. It just goes out that they listen to their guest. I sought out Jeannie who has helped me out in the past, I Thanked her for listening to a ligitiment issue Ace had. As you can see I'm changing my 1 star to a 5 star rating. Ace has and does listen to their guest I'm going to rethink my accommodations along with my food options. WAY TO GO ACE!!!! By making the corrections. YOU ARE THE BEST..

Mt Fest was a great experience. Very well run and fun music festival. Dinging a star because it's a bit pricey.

Outstanding customer service and a ton of activities for everyone. I loved the place so much I stayed 2 extra days than originally planned.

Nice place overall. Water park was fun, and ziplining was fantastic. Highly recommend it. My son was unable to attend due to illness. ACE would not refund the money for the water park or ziplining. When we got to the ziplining meeting area, we had to weigh in. One person was over the weight limit. His money was refunded. Not happy about that.

We had a great time rafting last week. Big shout- out to Devin, our boat's guide. He did a great job of explaining what we needed to do to stay safe while also keeping it fun. His personality and teaching style really added to the experience.

We ate at the restaurant, and it is clear that the culinary crew loves what they do. Mark makes THE best desserts and was such a delight to chat with!

We had a WONDERFUL time having great FAMILY ADVENTURES! Our rafting guide, Basil, was extremely knowledgeable about whitewater rafting, the river and the beautiful scenery. We will request him as our guide again. The zip line tours were fantastic! In comparison to ones done in Gatlinburg, Ace Adventure is more EXTREME! The kids had a BLAST at the water park. Thank you Ace Adventure for GREAT MEMORIES!

A must visit place! So much fun and everyone was so nice. Lots to do and wasn't crowded even for a saturday.

Awesome experience! I highly recommend Skip(Jake). Another raft flipped in the rapids and he handled it like a baller. Saved the other crew and flipped the raft back over like a boss/spider monkey with his questionably drunk/hungover crew. We will be returning annually and requesting him.

Been coming to ACE since 2005, they have always done a great job. People are friendly and helpful, rafting is always a blast and they are professionals in ensuring your safety. Good food and drink at the Lost Paddle. Great family time for all.

My feelings for this place a wholly one of a kind. Me and my friends went white water rafting In June 2016. If you're a local you know that's when the floods hit the place really bad. The river was up 9 feet and the famous Whale rock was actually moved. Whole trees were washing down the river with us racing to the finish. Any sane guide would of taken us out but not mine. Craig was a man all his own He took us to places no one in their right mind would of gone and I loved it. I wish I could give them 100 stars. A little pricey but you get what you pay for and much much more. This place is amazing!!!
