This exhibition was the best dinosaurs exhibit that I have ever been to. The thing that makes it ao great is that you can get right up close to the dinosaurs and walk around then at many different angles reall look at them.
There was also the fantastic child zone where you can dig for "fossils" (plastic bones) in a box that is filled with corks so its safe and easy to clean. The staff gives each kid a trowel and must have parent.
The gift shop is also filled with many fun toys and shirts with more interesting designs than the smithsonian.
Amazing place. Never seems to be too busy. At least in a Sunday. The kiddos like it well enough to keep going back, at least to humor their dad enough. I admittedly like it more than they do. How about those still life exhibits? Expertly curated, beautiful, and PRESERVED. They were designed in the 30 s! Amazing.
We visited last Sunday 2/16/20 and had such a great experience with Josh! He took out a bunch of insects and arachnids for us (including the Moroccan cockroaches) and was very knowledgeable and great to talk to. Thank you Josh for such a memorable experience!
The butterfly collection was very nice I want lots of live butterflies fluttering all over the place. The animated dinosaur area I was also very entertaining and of course the whole museum was extremely educational.
Always a fun time learning. My 2.5 year old loves dinosaur bones so he was through the roof today to enjoy the day with the dinosaurs. I m a teacher and I always loved taking my students as well because there s so much to see and do. Kind employees and perfect for all ages
We love it there.....I take the kids all the time all ages ....Have fun! Daughter loved it when she was young , granddaughters school trip great!......Little one aways has fun.....She's been going all her life!
Perfect for my 3, 7 and 8 year old! We had the whole family come (my sister and her 2 kids 3 and 5) and my older parents. It was the perfect size for everyone and we got to see the baby sloth ! The butterfly garden was awesome and the kids has a blast in the dino dig.
I was very surprised how much my 5 year old grandson loved this place. Not only did we have fun but we learned ALOT!!! We pet a snake and had butterflies land on us in the BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY ROOM!!! What an awesome day we had and I highly recommend!
The exhibits are mostly nice and the staff was helpful and friendly. Some things, like the butterfly exhibit, could have been a little cleaner or better managed. Dead butterflies/moths scattered around the place took away from the experience. The best part was that we got in for free because they had a "neighborhood days" event going on. If you live in any of the Philly neighborhoods, you could get up to 4 tickets for free. Unsure how often they do this so look out for it if you live in the city or know someone who does. I think it's $29 a person otherwise, including access to the special exhibits which cost extra (e.g. butterflies.) $29 is definitely a lot, the experience is worth about half that in my opinion. Spent about 1.5 - 2 hrs here and felt like that was enough to enjoy everything thoroughly.
Fantastic place for kids and adults. I've been going here my whole life and it's better than ever! The butterfly room, the dioramas, the dinosaurs. Look for the crystals from Media, PA. And Mineral Hill Pa which is located along the highway on the Media Bypass
I feel like it can be updated, they have some same displays from when I was a child. Parking is $30 I would visit more often but Parking plus admission feels like a Mortgage payment. Overall my child loved it.
I went for a fair. There were very few exhibits relatable to the fair. It was crowded. The cafeteria was small. I didn't even get to the escape room because the line was so long.
Most interesting museum that I have visited in quite a while. We had a Wonderful time. Beautiful displays! The animatronics were Awesome! We went here with a camp-full of kids and breezed through very quick. I plan on coming back to visit with my family, as I didn't get a chance to see everything, plus I know my family would love it as much as I do. Very educational, fun place and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about this museum. VISIT! You won't regret it!
Very underwhelming, honestly. Small, too. Went there on a Saturday, everything looked dusty and old, exhibits were odd and it looked like nothing had been touched or updated in years.
Awesome place. Would ve given 5 stars but I thought the price was a little high-although compared to other museums it was fairly reasonable. My kids had a blast and the staff was very friendly.
Had a wonderful experience here today with my girlfriend and 5 yr old son. As soon as we got here. Donneice and Araya at the front desk were so very pleasant and helpful.
Nice museum, and a lot of things to be seen. One of things that I didn't like, some sections requires separate tickets to be purchased other than the general admission tickets.
Must see museum in Philly. Evokes the mighty American Museum of Natural History in New York but more accessible. Wonderful interactive exhibits for children. Dinosaur exhibit is a big hit with the little ones. We paid up for the Bugs exhibit- it was OK, could leave it off the itinerary if pressed for time. Pro tip: reciprocal admission honored for ASTC.
Dinosaurs. The fossils are obviously a BIG draw, but there's so much more than that. There are so many interactive activities for kids of all ages, so. many. butterflies., life-sized animal dioramas, and a lot of bathrooms. A kid-friendly place with conveniently located bathrooms throughout is honestly my parent dream.
This place is more than a museum! You will see how they are connected with archeological expeditions finding dinosaur bones and fossils. A great place for the family to visit.
Very good museum for families or just to go by yourself and even on a date. There are so many things to look at and even some interactive areas within the museum. It has many floors to explore from dinosaurs to bees and their habitat. This is an excellent place to go for a fun learning experience.
