Really good for kids, and I found much of it interesting too. Saw a presentation of a live Solomon Islands prehensile-tailed skink and an armadillo, which was great. Interesting to see the long history of the academy as well, though I didn't get a chance to read all of the details.

Our family loves animals an insects etc.The building was clean and the staff friendly. All the exhibits were exciting to learn something more of animals an tge geology of them. Took plenty pic of our the favorite exhibits. We love the butterflies!!! Their markings are fasicnating.. Definitely go back. We have a membership which pays for itself on forst trip.
We take our 4 granddaughters an they love it!!! Only problem was we arrived around 12pm and it was hard to find parking. Suggest you get there wen it opens..

Great place for families with young kids. Lots of hands on exhibits for small hands, but I would probably cap this around age 9/10. Restrooms are conveniently located and there is a lunch area downstairs.

This museum is located in the museum district. Very educational. If you are science lover, definitely check out this museum.

There are many other museums in the area. At least plan a whole day in this city!

This place is really more for kids. As far as natural history museums go, it is pretty lackluster for the price you pay. The dinosaurs out front make it look like it's really cool, but it's pretty old school.

Go now. Go often. Cherish this historic, innovative, and forward looking local treasure . It is manageable enough to grasp for little folks (unlike the American Museum of Natural History or the Smithsonian).

Is for adults and kids you learn about nature of the animal kingdom. Starting with the Dinosaurs to insects and many other scientific research. They look almost alive. Definitely I have to comeback, because one afternoon is not enough to admire all. I always go to visit my daughter. So I ll be there

This is a nice museum, it has great displays but it is certainly not as good as the NYC museums. It's on the small side, but it covers a lot. The history of the museum itself is awesome. Definitely worth a try.

Great for kids and adults. If you plan on visiting more than once a year, or if you live locally and want to attend some great programs, consider getting an annual membership- it's well worth the cost.

Pleasantly surprised by live animals and insects on the top floor. I wasn't sure whether my little kids would like here or not, so we purchased the tickets for after 3pm which is cheaper and still had like 1hr and half. It worked out great for us.

WOW! This really is a hidden gem in Philaldelphia! It's a wonderful exhibition for children of all ages, from 2 to 92 :-).
It was a very fun day and it has lots on interesting facts about the animals and their habitats.
I actually prefer it over the zoo, bc I am one of those ppl that suffer to see the animals in captivity.

My family and I went to this museum on Friday, February 22nd, 2019. We arrived after 4:00 PM on a day in which it was pay what you wish after 4:00 PM, and the museum stayed open until 8:00 PM. Although a little small, it is a great museum for kids. The dinosaur fossil/skeleton collection is quite good. The exhibit on Fairies, Unicorns, and Mermaids was also excellent. My seven year old daughter liked that section the most. The dioramas were very well done. Overall a great experience!

Great place for kids to explore and learn! Aside from the confusing elevator situation, it is designed very well to keep the audience attention! We especially liked the dinosaurs and butterfly exhibits.

We took our daughter here for her 4th Birthday and she had a ball as she loveesss dinosaurs. The staff are friendly , there are quite a few exhibits , and it's larger than it appears to be than the outside looking end. If your looking to save money steer clear of the gift shop you can easily spend $50 on two items , which is to be expected.

Love this museum! They have great interactive displays & special exhibits to help teach visitors about the different sciences they focus on. The staff is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. I recommend becoming a member so you can take part in Member Nights and get behind-the-scenes tours.

This is a really great museum for kids & adults. It can get busy on the weekends, though. For locals, the membership is a really great value, too. The cafeteria is small & expensive, so we always try to.bring lunch from home.

Lots of dinosaur sculptures, interactive activities like fossil digging, green screen, live bugs, live reptiles, and play area. Lots to learn and explore. There is also a live butterfly garden for an extra fee. There is a limited time exhibit of dragons and mermaids but its not worth the extra fee. Overall, fun and educational activity for the entire family. There are restrooms on each floor. There is a cafe on the ground floor.

My kids love this museum! We live in the suburbs, but the museum is so conveniently located in the city, that it's easy to pop into Philly, park right next to the museum, spend a couple of hours looking at animals and call it a day.
