Great exhibits & knowledge personnel. Great for the Kids.
Really good for kids, and I found much of it interesting too. Saw a presentation of a live Solomon Islands prehensile-tailed skink and an armadillo, which was great. Interesting to see the long history of the academy as well, though I didn't get a chance to read all of the details.
"Not only do they have dinosaurs (hard to beat that) but the staff is amazing!
Wonderful experience. I also love butterflies and their exhibit is one of the best that I have ever seen
Our family loves animals an insects etc.The building was clean and the staff friendly. All the exhibits were exciting to learn something more of animals an tge geology of them. Took plenty pic of our the favorite exhibits. We love the butterflies!!! Their markings are fasicnating.. Definitely go back. We have a membership which pays for itself on forst trip.
We take our 4 granddaughters an they love it!!! Only problem was we arrived around 12pm and it was hard to find parking. Suggest you get there wen it opens..
Fun place to explore scientific research and fun cool things.
They have the retarded fish-frog from South Park here.
Our grandkids 2 1/2 and 5 1/2 had a great time. Staffed activities scattered throughout the museum were very nicely done.
Great place for families with young kids. Lots of hands on exhibits for small hands, but I would probably cap this around age 9/10. Restrooms are conveniently located and there is a lunch area downstairs.
A bit expensive for what's inside but a friendly staff and cool exhibits make up for it. Great for parents of younger kids, plenty to do on the top floor!
This museum is located in the museum district. Very educational. If you are science lover, definitely check out this museum.
There are many other museums in the area. At least plan a whole day in this city!
Our younger children (5 and 7) enjoyed it but there was not a lot to do. The exhibits are old and non-interactive. Frankly, it's old and boring.
This 1 is in my top 5 of Philadelphia museums. This has some of the koolest stuff u will ever c in a museum. COWBOYEDD
Nice but a bit boring for adults. Live Butterfly exhibit interesting, though you have to pay extra $5 for it.
This place is really more for kids. As far as natural history museums go, it is pretty lackluster for the price you pay. The dinosaurs out front make it look like it's really cool, but it's pretty old school.
It was a really great place to go. Really interesting, full of information. Cafeteria was only sour note.
Amazing exhibits. I just wish I could fond someone to talk to about everything I got to see today, or find a nice fossil in the gift shop
Beautiful space and plenty to see. The Dinosaur exhibit was a hit for the kids. Bathrooms clean and several items in the gift shop. No comment on food (chose to dine elsewhere).
Amazing. I love this place. Its mainly for children but adults can have fun as well
We visited with our children on the Smithsonian's National Museum Day (2018). Very nice museum with awesome exhibits! So much to see! The kids really enjoyed it!
Can spend the day here and still want to go back and see more.
Great place for young and old alike! Couple hours flew by for us
Cute museum. Went for a field trip. Staff is all very kind and really great with the kids.easy to see entire museum in 1 visit. Definitely recommend for kids, ecspecially fans of dinosaurs!
Go now. Go often. Cherish this historic, innovative, and forward looking local treasure . It is manageable enough to grasp for little folks (unlike the American Museum of Natural History or the Smithsonian).
Loved this vist with my girls Dinosaur exhibit was great. Must see!
One of the coolest museums for all ages but kids really get a kick out of it. Everyone from the paid staff to the volunteers are wonderful and helpful
We had a blast as usual! The butterfly exhibit was wonderful.
The art and displays are very organized, the area is beautiful and has very great staff!
Is for adults and kids you learn about nature of the animal kingdom. Starting with the Dinosaurs to insects and many other scientific research. They look almost alive. Definitely I have to comeback, because one afternoon is not enough to admire all. I always go to visit my daughter. So I ll be there
Great museum with dinosaurs, dioramas, and a walk-through butterfly house!
This is a nice museum, it has great displays but it is certainly not as good as the NYC museums. It's on the small side, but it covers a lot. The history of the museum itself is awesome. Definitely worth a try.
A very educational experience not only for children, but adults as well. My family loved the exhibits here. Thanks for the experience!
Great for kids and adults. If you plan on visiting more than once a year, or if you live locally and want to attend some great programs, consider getting an annual membership- it's well worth the cost.
Pleasantly surprised by live animals and insects on the top floor. I wasn't sure whether my little kids would like here or not, so we purchased the tickets for after 3pm which is cheaper and still had like 1hr and half. It worked out great for us.
Visited on a rainy day while visiting Philly. Spent no more than 2 hours here.
Our son loves this place. very educative and informative. we use the museum pass program in our library to visit this place
4 and 7 yr olds loved the dinosaurs and more. Fun day! Parking is $$$.
WOW! This really is a hidden gem in Philaldelphia! It's a wonderful exhibition for children of all ages, from 2 to 92 :-).
It was a very fun day and it has lots on interesting facts about the animals and their habitats.
I actually prefer it over the zoo, bc I am one of those ppl that suffer to see the animals in captivity.
One of the best museums in Philly (or NYC for that natter). Ticket prices are reasonable and you are within walking distance to a ton of great restaurants.
So fun for adults and kids alike. We especially enjoyed the real life diorama sections, learning about animals around the world.
My 4 years old son loves everything about dinosaurs he was so happy and wants to go back again
Mask and social distance is required
This place is amazing! Had a blast. Definitely recommend it regardless of age.
A fun afternoon activity, though the exhibits are definitely geared towards the younger crowd
My family and I went to this museum on Friday, February 22nd, 2019. We arrived after 4:00 PM on a day in which it was pay what you wish after 4:00 PM, and the museum stayed open until 8:00 PM. Although a little small, it is a great museum for kids. The dinosaur fossil/skeleton collection is quite good. The exhibit on Fairies, Unicorns, and Mermaids was also excellent. My seven year old daughter liked that section the most. The dioramas were very well done. Overall a great experience!
Great historic museum. Plenty of interactive exhibits for kids.
Nice to take the kids for a day out. East to get to from patco, can walk or get cab to the museum.
A bit pricey to get in but what is not in philly. Should eat before going there. The cafe is borderline.........
Old classics, rotating exhibits to keep it fresh, and of course, DINOSAURS
Something about prehistoric fish skeletons drives me crazy. Really great staff in the nature lab and butterfly garden. I would live here if I could.
Great place to take the kids. Yearly membership a great deal! Lots to do in and around the museum...
A beautiful place place. Good for children specially.
Great place for kids to explore and learn! Aside from the confusing elevator situation, it is designed very well to keep the audience attention! We especially liked the dinosaurs and butterfly exhibits.
We took our daughter here for her 4th Birthday and she had a ball as she loveesss dinosaurs. The staff are friendly , there are quite a few exhibits , and it's larger than it appears to be than the outside looking end. If your looking to save money steer clear of the gift shop you can easily spend $50 on two items , which is to be expected.
Ok.if you're into museums...exhibits are good and their partnering program is great.
Parking can be a challenge
Great place for kids as young as 3. Variety of exhibits and activities. Helpful staff. Would visit again.
My 5 year old absolutely loves bugfest. We joined the membership as we will take advantage of all museum has to offer.
Very fun, very informative, great for any with curiousity!
Great visit.Do attend the auditurium if you get a chance.
Love this museum! They have great interactive displays & special exhibits to help teach visitors about the different sciences they focus on. The staff is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. I recommend becoming a member so you can take part in Member Nights and get behind-the-scenes tours.
Very nice. Our daughter had a great time. Definitely walkable.staff were very friendly and helpful.
This is a really great museum for kids & adults. It can get busy on the weekends, though. For locals, the membership is a really great value, too. The cafeteria is small & expensive, so we always try to.bring lunch from home.
Lots of dinosaur sculptures, interactive activities like fossil digging, green screen, live bugs, live reptiles, and play area. Lots to learn and explore. There is also a live butterfly garden for an extra fee. There is a limited time exhibit of dragons and mermaids but its not worth the extra fee. Overall, fun and educational activity for the entire family. There are restrooms on each floor. There is a cafe on the ground floor.
My kids love this museum! We live in the suburbs, but the museum is so conveniently located in the city, that it's easy to pop into Philly, park right next to the museum, spend a couple of hours looking at animals and call it a day.
