We went for an unschooling adventure. We enjoyed the various exhibits, especially the larger land animals. There aren't many places to see bison to scale. It was also really sad because so many of the animals are extinct or facing extinction.

Pricey day for a 2-3 hr trip. It is a wonderful museum! I loved the upgrades of the dinosaur dig and some of the more interactive exhibits, but coming from NJ it's $30-35 to park in garage (street parking is impossible but cheaper), $5 for bridge, and plus the the price of the tickets (so for me it was a $80 day (and we didn't even get food because we went in morning). Staff was very friendly and informative which made the trip very pleasant!

It was nice, but it should let adults know which exhibits are more meant for kids and not exactly for two adults to find interesting.
However the butterfly place was nice, it was just my dad and I, along with a guide woman who told us all about the butterflies they had there. It ended up being a nice time.

I recently visited this museum and the last time I went prior to was about 10 years ago. The museum basically has the same exhibits and honestly can make good use of a major renovation. You can see the wear and tear of various items around the museum. It is a good place to learn and a great place to take the little ones to entertain them. Hopefully one day they do get the renovation and then it will get 5 stars. Other than that as an adult with grown children there's no reason to go back.

Plenty of things the kids can touch and volunteers to explain different aspects of the museum. Only thing that stops my rating from 5 stars is that even though there were 3 stories of content, it seemed empty. There were hallways that had no museum items except a table of volunteers. We had 2 adults, a 4 year old, and a 2 year old and it cost us about $77. We spent about 3 hours there.

My kids love it. I call it the dead animal zoo. I always feel like more could be done with the exhibits other than the dinosaur area. They seem to pour most of their resources into that. The Croc exhibit was cool though. We all really enjoyed that.

What a perfectly sized museum to take kids true it...

What a perfectly sized museum to take kids true it is very easy to find things and there is a lot to offer for all kids of different ages. My girls got to see some live animals of the top floor see bugs reptiles and they even liked the live animal showed that was held in the auditorium. It took us 3 hours to get through everything and that wasn't even reading many things so I would love to go back and take my time reading about the animals but my favorite part was the dinosaur section. We checked out the new exhibit of extreme bugs which was an additional charge and addition to that museum entrance.

If you like dinosaurs, then the downstairs is for you. If you like learning about ecology and humanity's effects on our environment, then the upstairs is for you. If you like venus flytraps, then the gift shop is for you. They also have actual dinosaur fossils being cleaned up in the rear of the dino exhibit. Big fan!

Oh, and the butterfly room is tons of fun for the kids.
