I brought my 5 y/o, 3 y/o, and 18 m/o...we had a blast. They LOVED the butterfly exhibit, the fossil dig and the "outside" exhibit on the top floor. This was a really wonderful adventure for us. Seeing all the animals was a hoot too!

The museum was an amazing experience for kids, there were many variety of things and stations that would keep kids entertained. The combination of live animals and taxidermy exhibition was also stimulating. A memorable visit and would recommend to others.

I can't imagine paying full price for this (we had the city pass). We spent about 40 minutes here. Mostly because half of it is very similar to the science museum in Denver. We don't have kids, might have been longer then.

The Academy conducts an incredible amount of research and is a world scientific leader. Their exhibits and programming are always fun and informative, with a great variety of dioramas! I always have a wonderful time here.

Still a great museum! Hadn't been in many years, but still a well presented museum with lots to see and do to fill an afternoon with the kids. Also, pleasantly surprised that the cafe was reasonably priced and tasted decent. I have a yearly membership so will be back a few times.

A family favorite. We actually like it more here than we do the Franklin Institute for my kids age 3 and 2. Definitely stuff for school age kids to see and do too! A small cafe, bathrooms on most levels, 4 floors of activities with stairs to get places or 2 different elevators to get to places. Butterfly room for an extra fee more, a traveling exhibit for a small fee more too this time it was the extreme bugs with animatronic bugs and a little activity area. There are dioramas everywhere of animals that have been nicely put together, dinosaur bone exhibits, a fossil dig activity, and other fun things. Also an interactive play area with a sand box, shark teeth dig, books in like 6 different languages, dress up, little animals to see that staff members bring out to pet. I had a double stroller and was able to get around fairly easily. No designated family bathrooms but big enough to squeeze the stroller in if need be.

It is on the smaller scale however has a great amount of dinosaurs and other animals. Absolutely love the Butterlfies as well as the "bug life" area (which requires you to purchase extra tickets) it is a great place for younger kids to learn and explore. Additionally, they have some arts and crafts station on the weekends which help keep the kids entertained.

I have been a member here for 3 years now. I park a few blocks away for a weekend rate of $8. Nice exhibits, with my favorite being the changing exhibits. Tarantulas just finished and Dinosaurs are returning to that exhibit.
The staff and volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable . Seating could be more comfortable , except the auditorium . There is a cafe , but their food can be unappealing at times, and pricey.
