Good customer service experience, never suggested junk just to clear stocks

Came here for consultation with getting my pc build running, was given professional service and walked out with a running build. Worker was super helpful throughout the entire process, definitely recommend this place.

Friendly, but not very knowledgeable with fixing corrupt files, I had to give them advice in the end, I called other shops which knew much more than these techs

Bald Dude was fired by them already. Service remain very good. Friendly staff are very helpful. Not the best location in town. but the service make up the drive. better than pick a number and no service. I shop with them since 2000. Know most of their staff by first and last name. never heard of "Nick Chou" before

When I lived in north Burnaby, A-Power were my go-to guys for computers, parts, and repairs. They were unfailingly fair and honest with me, took the time to educate me about my system, and quick fixes were often done for free. Unfortunately I had to move to Edmonton; after having had the most AWFUL experience here with another tech service, I miss A-Power all the more. :-(

I have been using A-Power for over 10 years. (at 3 different locations along Hastings St !) When you can't fix it with your own software and you just get stuck. Bring your computer into these guys and they will get it up and running again. Reasonable prices and knowledgeable staff. JD

Went to fix my laptop. Playing games caused 90 degrees temp and 20 fps even in lowest settings for games. Games were also stuttering and freezing. Fan noise is like a jet engine. They did a quick diagnostic and notified me next day the solution. Quickly reapplied thermal paste and now i get at least 60fps to 120 in games and smooth as hell. Temps are okay too about 70 now at most. Guys also gave me tips on taking better care of my adapter and stuff. Even made sure to double check beside me. Grest service and nice staff. Thanks guys

I dealt with a gentleman by the name Jeff. I was making purchases for my small business. Why give my money to big business, when i can support a local neighborhood business. I was wrong in this case. I made purchases totalling 900 dollars. One unit i purchased is an hdmi splitter, 6 weeks within buying it, it stopped working. I took the unit in for warranty, Jeff informed me to read the return/exchange policy. Apparently a defective product is deemed an exchange. And they refused to help me, and advised me to send the defective unit back to the manufacturer, untill i threatened to leave negative yelp reviews. Jeff's manager called me within 20 of me threatening to leave negative yelp reviews, offering me a return of my money or to send in for warranty. They only help you if you threaten negative yelp reviews. I will never give this company a dime of my money.

This is an easy 5-star review to make. From beginning to end, Jeff from A-Power (Burnaby) was patient, knowledgeable, and provided excellent service in building my computer. I can't recommend them enough!

Jeff and the A-Power crew were instrumental in helping me figure out what features I needed in a computer and custom built it for me at a reasonable price. They contacted the software manufacturers directly to find out what kind of hardware I needed, which was above and beyond. I have nothing but praise for A-Power and look forward to doing business with them when I next need a computer or computer help!

While I've yet to make any substantial purchases such as a complete pc or most components for a new setup, for the purchases and services I've made at A-Power, the fellows here have been nothing but attentive, courteous, and candidly helpful. One more than one occasion they've provided sound advice without pushing any sales or products. This is a lot more than anyone could truthfully claim about the average level of service (or lack thereof) provided by the 'main supplier' in Greater Vancouver. I'll continue to turn to A-Power to source my pc components and you'll likely be pleasantly surprised if you do the same. Also, should you search for something that isn't on their website, give them a call, they may be able to source it quickly. Cheers.

Used to shop here all the time when I live nearby, great selection of computer parts and staff were friendly and helpful.

Great help over the phone by Jeff so I could make an educated decision about what to do with my PC. It was slow to boot slow to awake and load up browser windows and email client and often crashed when it came out of sleep. We upgraded the ssd from 120gb to 250gb and cloned the o/s over to the new ssd. OMG it comes out of sleep in 6 seconds now, what a massive improvement over the 6 to 8 minutes it would take prior to the servicing. I am happy because I really did not want to fiddle around with new install of windows, migration of data and all that other time consuming baggage that possibly ensues with this type of upgrade. Bought some computer parts from these people, never heard of them before until someone else referenced them. Order made at 13:00, tracking number by 15:20. Unbelievably fast response. Emails and info are all very organized, invoice is automatically attached as pdf (helps for when I have to reconcile expenses for company) I definitely recommend them.

Absolutely stellar experience! A-Power was recommended by a friend of mine at work & within 1 day they were able to get me an RTX 3080 when you'd be lucky to even see one in stock anywhere else (then-alone be able to buy it). Highly recommended!

Good selection and prices. Not very busy so it is fast to quickly pickup a cable or whatever you need. The website could use more categories and/or better searching as sometimes it is hard to find what you are looking for. For example looking for a specific USB cable browsing categories you can only see all USB cables with no sub categories.

Laptop not detecting Bluetooth.. Diagnostic done so quickly and professionally and a very reasonable charge. Very happy

Have to agree with the other negative reviews here. While one of their staff was very helpful in finding the right cables, the others are borderline incompetent and rude when asking questions and searching for items they don't have. Maybe they're feeling the stress of the new location, but there's no excuse for hanging up on a customer asking questions. And they will fight you tooth and nail on returning anything without charging a 25% restocking fee. I've left my name for the manager to call back on a few occasions and not once has he taken the time. They simply don't care about anything beyond making the sale, it seems. And sometimes, not even that. I would avoid these guys if you can, they just don't get it.

They were out of 80mm case fans, but I just needed the 3-pin case fans motherboard connector to 4-pin molex adapter. They had spares and didn't charge me for one of them. Made my day!! Thank you!!

I love these guys. I am a very tech savvy PC guy and have been building my own PCs since 2000. I run and tech my own recording studio and network, and have done visual programming on proprietary software. I bring my PC to these guys when I am stumped and they always deliver a fix quickly and under budget. I'm talking tricky stuff. I've gotten to the point where if I can't find the problem in a an hour, I just take my PC to A-power Burnaby, and pay their reasonable troubleshooting fee. Warren is the nicest guy (as is Jeff) and I feel well looked after. I do buy hardware here as well (my last 2 PCs / octacore/etc)

Gerard was absolutely amazing! I have been a customer for many years. He has been helpful and has ALWAYS offered me price adjustments and the best price possible. He has been honest with his opinions from parts to setups. He has also been very good helping my friends and family out whenever they needed help or advice! Truly an asset to A-Power and the team!

Excellent service. Knowledgeable staff. I have been buying computers here for fifteen years and have always been pleased with the service. They understand the difference between an engineering or a gaming computer and know how to keep a system in balance. Burnaby office is a small hole in the wall but it is backed by a larger location in Richmond.

Good service and price range. Managed to get a new monitor and some LAN cables for a decent price and the LAN cables were cheaper than the ones that Staples were selling so was pretty surprising. They overall a good experience

I just bought my second computer from A-Power. They were highly recommended to me by one of our IT staff at my workplace, a few years ago when I bought my first PC from them. It is so great to be able to have them build a computer based on my needs/usage. My first one still works, just upgrading as it's 7 yrs old now and changing to Windows 10. Both Jeff and Warren provided excellent service, advice and their expertise is obvious. The prices are reasonable, warranty is good and the support is excellent. I would give them 10 stars if it were possible. What I really appreciate is they don't try to add on sales of things one may not need. They are committed to getting you what you need, not what the sales quota mandates. I highly recommend them. Warren even very kindly took my purchases to my car on a chilly very windy day - with their store quite busy with customers, really appreciated the courtesy. Note: pay attention to the parking signage, at rush hour, no parking on the south side of Hastings where the store is.
