Today I celebrated my wife s 70th day at Citron, I wanted this to be a great experience because she deserves nothing but the best, from the planning up to the actual event everything was perfect. Charles is a Prince, a true Professional, from the moment we walked in he made my feel extremely special, the wait staff especially Donna were the best, Emily was very helpful Durphy the planning process, a lot our guest had never been there and fell in love with it, the food was excellent and the birthday cake was to die for. We are regulars there and they stayed the course.

First impressions are everything. I am a huge foodie. I frequent many restaurants from casual to high end. My first experience at Citron was not one to write home about. I expected so much more from a restaurant of this caliber. In my opinion, the food nor service were worth the cost.

I recently attended a birthday dinner celebration at Citron, and it was a very special evening. The staff was extremely attentive, the food was delicious, and the setting (using both indoor and outdoor space) was beautiful. Definitely a lovely experience!!

Went there for a seminar and dinner. The setting is quite impressive. Appetizers were mini crab cakes and tiny onion rings, served to each person individually. Delicious little bursts of flavor. Decided on fillet mignon as an entree. Meat was tender and tasty. No alcohol was being served during the dinner so the iced tea and then coffee served after dinner were adequate. Dessert was delicious akso.

I first went to Citron on a date night with my boyfriend, we love to try new restaurants and when Citron first landed in Baltimore we were excited to try it. The restaurant exceeded our every expectation- beautiful dining spaces, views, wait staff, and most importantly great food. My boyfriend got the chilean sea bass and wouldn't stop talking about it - we've been back and despite usually trying new things he's gotten it a few times now! I am an avid sushi lover and was surprised to see Citron had a large variety of sushi, better than most Japanese restaurants in the area. Even their vegetarian delight roll is more than just an average avocado roll. We've dined now in both the main dining room for upscale date nights and on the porch in the summer to enjoy the sunlight and the live music and have never had a subpar experience. As someone with food allergies the staff is always attentive when accommodating and relaying the message to the kitchen!

I've been here a few times and each experience has been good. My drink is always well-prepared and my food is tasty.

Beautiful space! The service and the food are both tremendous. The complimentary valet is helpful, but there's also a ton of parking spaces nearby. I'd go again!

Lovely establishment with courteous and attentive staff. Meal portions are small, prices are high.

Good food and beautiful place. Need to work on bar staff and hostess customer service for all. I couldn't help feeling like my kind was not who they really wanted there.

I am giving 2 stars to this place not because the food or service but because me and my friends waited over 25 minutes in the deck area next to the lake, and we felt ignored by the waitresses and we decided to left but in our way out we encounter with the owner and decided to give this place a chance, Our waitress was phenomenal, the food exquisite.

The lake view and dinner was wonderful. The ambiance was outstanding. 10 stars

Beautiful setting overlooking the lake. Food and cocktails were amazing. Waiters wore masks and were very careful. Hand sanitizer on table. Felt my family was very safe here dining outside as the tables were spaced far apart. And Charles is a wonderful host. We will be back.

Absolutely love the food and atmosphere. Patio is very scenic. Bathrooms are clean. Staff are welcoming and accommodating. Drinks are good. Havent tried the sushi yet but I will next time. After 2 visits, I cant name one favorite. But I would recommend the sea bass, short rib filet, lamb chops, spring rolls, lobster bisque and chicken.

Mother s Day Brunch

This was my second time here. The ambiance is very nice, however the service and the food needs improvement. I know that restaurants tend to be pretty busy on Mother s Day, but the amount of time we waited for our food was ridiculous. We arrived a half hour before our reservation, but were not seated until a half hour after our reservation. While waiting, we heard multiple customers complaining to the staff that they had been waiting for their food for 2 hours. Sure enough once we were seated, we were served our drinks and our food order was taken. Half of my party received their food a hour and a half after our order was placed and the rest of the us waited for 2 hours before we were served our food. The staff never came out to give us updates or apologize for our food taking so long. The food was not hot and was just average. We were not impressed. No more patronizing Citron for me.

First time at this restaurant... I Loved everything from the customer service, food was great!, atmosphere was good, nice, clean, upscale restaurant. Will be booking my next reservation.

Beautiful surroundings, right on Quarry Lake. Delicious food and gracious host.

Wedding experience and food were great, however I understand that the wedding party had great difficulty coordinating and getting cooperation from management regarding basic and expected request from the bride and groom. This type of non ethical practice and treatment is unacceptable to paying consumers especially on one of the most significant events of their lives. MARRIAGE! Treat people the way YOU would want to be treated. That is a "Golden Key" to hospitality and service.

Atmosphere was lovely. Food okay but service was slow and food took forever.

My wife and I visited Citron again this past Saturday for a rare date night, and we were extremely pleased. From initial greeting, to dessert, everything was well executed. Charles, Susan, and the team have really got the place dialed in.
The dining room was full, and lively, as you would expect on a Saturday night. This did not diminish from the experience at all. The decor is polished, but not pretentious and stuffy, and our food and drinks were exceptional. Our server, Parrish, was a rock star, providing solid recommendations on menu items, as well as wine pairings and honest feedback. My wife has Celiac, which can be limiting at most restaurants, and she was pleased to find that almost any dish could be modified to accommodate her needs. We started with the grilled octopus, which was very different then others we have had, offering different flavors and textures than simply grilled octopus. I had the veal cheeks, which were decadent. The lobster was perfectly cooked, and the veal melted on the palate. The gnocchi that accompanied it was perfect. My wife had the filet, which was flavorful and cooked expertly. Our wine pairings were spot on, thanks to Parrish! Finally, dessert, which is always the difficult course for my wife, was a delicious flour less chocolate cake, and a wonderful ending to a memorable dining experience.
I also found it refreshing that not only was the owner, Charles, spending time at just about every table greeting guests and checking on their dining experiences, he was helping to clear plates as well. You definitely don't see this at many places, and it just goes to show how dedicated he is to delivering a first class dining experience.

So, to sum it up, we would definitely recommend Citron, and certainly plan on returning before too long!

Prior customer service experiences with host, hostesses, and waitstaff was exceptional. Latest experience was extremely disappointing. I'm sure all restaurants are overwhelmed with opening back up after being closed due to the pandemic but hospitality standards should not go to the wayside. If you're not prepared to answer guest questions or are simply tired of the questions being asked then don't open your facility up to patrons until you are ready. Maybe it was just one bad apple...still disappointed nonetheless. Maybe we will return in Autumn.

Great restaurant! We really enjoyed spending our Saturday evening here. The food is great and the service is amazing. We loved it so much that we are planing to come back here next week. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Hey people, let s spread the love around. Curbside is the best when the owner himself hand delivers you food with gloves and mask on. Food was hot and fresh and great portions. Can t wait to be back having my burger again and hanging at the bar. Charles and his staff know how to satisfy a hungry heart. We love Citron. Support local and family owned and operated.

I definitely would not recommend Citron. My husband and I went there for Valentine s Day dinner and disappointed is an understatement. First course was good, but second course was cold, which was just the start of a very disappointing evening. I ordered the lobster bisque originally and was told by the waiter it was not recommended because it was too salty. After hearing that, I opted for a spinach ravioli type dish over the lobster bisque, and the pasta was undercooked. I ordered a medium filet mignon for the main course and it was, quite frankly, one of the worst steaks I ve ever had. I refuse to believe it was actually filet mignon. It tasted absolutely AWFUL and badly freezer burned. I had to send it back immediately and order something else. My husband s main course was okay (scallops), but cold. Desserts and cocktails were mediocre. Overall, the meal was pretty much a rip off and not worth the $240 we spent. I d say the meal was worth $100 at most, and that is honestly being generous. And as if the meal wasn t bad enough, we couldn t even enjoy just being in the restaurant because it was freezing in the corner we were seated in, even after the hostess insisted we check our coats after claiming how warm and cozy the restaurant was. We had to uncheck our coats halfway through dinner and wear them for the remainder of the meal. The whole experience was pretty ridiculous. Our waiter was nice and apologetic, but I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone. Ever. My husband was embarrassed for even taking me there for Valentine s Day.

We had a beautiful wedding at Citron this past weekend! Our original wedding plans fell through due to COVID-19 and we needed to quickly find a place where we could host an intimate ceremony with just the closest family and friends and feel safe. The outdoor private event space at Citron overlooks a lake and is idyllic and magical for a ceremony. Charles (the owner) immediately made me feel like this he would take care of us he sat down with me, listened to our menu preferences, and even offered to help with details like flowers and decor. Being that I had only approached him a week before the wedding, we truly appreciated his willingness to jump in and help.

When we arrived we were welcomed by Charles, Susan (his wife), and Donna (his catering manager). My whole family was SO impressed by the food, the atmosphere, the hospitality, flowers, and especially the gorgeous and incredibly tasty naked wedding cake that they made for us in-house. Susan was so kind to record our ceremony on her iPhone and to have a special bridal face mask made for me (yellow satin with flowers). Donna went above and beyond, fluffing my dress, gathering my things, and making sure I was comfortable. Even our photographer could not stop raving about the setting and the views.

Thank to everyone at Citron for helping us have the perfect wedding. This is a gem of a location and we are so happy that we stumbled upon it!

Great waiter (Devonte), great food and just a wonderful experience! Charles was nothing but kind, courteous and professional! It was my Girlfriend's birthday and we took a chance. We'll be back! BTW, the brussel sprouts and cauliflower are to die for!

The planning for a friend's 60th birthday party went very smoothly, thanks to Charles Levine's excellent staff and his wonderful attention to detail throughout the evening. Terrific food, quick bar service and beautiful patio and private party room helped create the atmosphere for an evening filled with lasting memories!!

A small disclaimer before I begin my review. I don't go occasionally to upscale restaurants. Therefore, this review reflects my subjective experience alone.

I went to Citron with my wife to celebrate her birthday. Our first impression was that the place tries to project high class appearance. For example the valet services, the manners of the staff etc. The only thing that went out of character in this respect were the sport screens above the bar.

For appetizer we shared a sort of cheese and sausage sampler plate and a wedge salad. I must say that the sampler was very interesting since it manage to combine variety of tastes in one plate. Nevertheless the price tag was very high.



The desert manu should had more variety in our opinion. We ordered a bourbon creame cake. It was nice.

Overall, we had a good experience in Citron. However, for this price tag we also expected to get a "wow factor" - which we did not.

I attended the Citron for a private event which held about 30 people. The food was undercooked for some and as for me I ordered a medium well steak which was well done when served. I also ordered the lobster bisque which had no lobster but clearly shrimp. With that being said not only was it salty and lobster less everyone that ordered it had noticeably different portions. I sent it back and it was supposed to be taken off the check. However, when the check came it was supposed to be split between 30 people. The staff mentioned that they do not split checks, but did allow some guest Pay separately. The staff did not take their meals off the final amount so we were left to pay everyone s meals that had already paid!

Fabulous service, food, and atmosphere. This is our go to restaurant!

Absolutely amazing restaurant. The food and drinks were perfect and the service was impeccable. I can not wait to go back and have another amazing dinning experience.

I inquired several times about renting event space for a bridal shower. The first time, I am not sure who I spoke to but I am guessing it was the owner, Charles. He was completely scatter brained and was unable to follow the conversation. It was a really bizarre experience. You would think he would be able to answer a simple inquiry about holding a bridal shower for no more than 25 guests as I'm sure they hold events all the time. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be able to hold my event here as their customer service and event planning is extremely lacking. The ambiance of this place is beautiful but not worth the uncertainty on your special day. Find another place!

Great place for celebration. The customer service was wonderful. All the members of the team were very professional and friendly. We had a friend celebrate get birthday in there. We're had a great time stayed until closing. Food prices are a little bit high. But great experience overall.

First time my wife and I have visited Citron after hearing so many good things about this place. We met a friend for dinner and drinks and we were not disappointed. Our food was delicious and we enjoyed the view from the deck.

We had a fabulous time! My wife and I went for our anniversary and it was an awesome experience. The owner greeted us when we arrived. The service was top notch. We ordered the mussels as the appetizer. Very good choice. My wife ordered the Shrimp and Scallop Maltaglioti and I ordered the New York strip, rare. Everything was hot and fresh and our waitress was great.

We will definitely be back

This place is Tremendous. They have taken great lengths to provide a safe environment without taking away the beautiful views of the lake. The owner helped us pick some great wines and our waiter Henry was great. by the way....the sushi was spectacular!!! There should be a 6th star for this amazing restaurant.

Citron is an amazing restaurant. I hosted my birthday celebration there and the food, service, drinks and atmosphere was amazing! I highly recommend this place and look forward to going back.

The food was delicious..I got shrimp spring rolls, Alaskan salmon..Boo Loo drink..not for the weak at heart lol..nice outdoor seating...love this place!

Time and time again we come back and receive a consistently superior experience. The owner, Charles Levine, is hands on in his business making a point to visit tables and personalize the experience. The only time we re disappointed is when it s too cold outside to enjoy the beautiful terrace.

Went here today after church (Easter Sunday 2019) for brunch. The atmosphere is great, the service is awesome and the food was delicious.

We ve been ordering curbside pickups/ carry outs from this restaurant since the beginning of the pandemic earlier this year. In the beginning, the food and service were great and even included love letters from the owner. It s been a slippery slope since then. Over the last few months, we ve been willing to overlook the unstated and unadvertised substitutions, the mostly late service, the complete loss of our orders, and the most recent addition of a tub of ice to our cocktails-to-go orders, and yes, the very rapid removal of the love letters. However, the last straw was today s thanksgiving order, which we ordered for our socially distanced and dispersed family. Everyone s opinion was that the food was absolutely tasteless and awful (including overcooked and dry turkey) and it turned a strange thanksgiving into something even worse. We d have gotten far better fare at a school cafeteria. Shame on you Mr Levine! We ll never be back, and we recommend everyone else to do the same until they demonstrate a commitment to quality food and service.

To anyone considering going to this restaurant, please read the owner s response to this review and the previous negative reviews. There s very little in the way of apology or taking responsibility for their lack of quality or service. They often turn it into an advert for their restaurant. Be warned, open your wallet and leave your sensibilities at the door!

They get 1 star because the reservation snafu we experienced was not their fault but ownership and rectifying it was all on them and they failed miserably. A certain app oversold sold reservations to Citron on Mother s Day understandably things happen but the older gentleman was very rude about the whole situation. We still got a table thanks to the young lady but that is the only good thing that I have to say about this experience... Service took forever (I get it they were busy) but this made the food come out cold and also terrible. Every table around us was complaining about their meal and one table sent most of the meals back. When it was time for the check it took 45 mins to get the bill, imagine that wait time with a 2 year old. My 8 year old gave another star because of their bathroom decor, for a place with great potential it s sad that this experience would never bring me back. Save your money go somewhere else, terrible food, even worse service... great bathroom though!!! ****Edit**** And as you can see even in the response to this review, still no apology or empathy, I really wish I could give 0 stars.

#impressed Yes, the atmosphere, ambiance, service and food won us (party of 24) over from the moment we walked in the door. The customer service was the best and they made us feel as if we were the only patrons in there. We sat in the bar area (my choice) and the view was beautiful. The music was satisfying and the level was just right. Everyone enjoyed their food, no one sent anything back and the bartender was on point with the drinks. After dinner, we transitioned outside and soaked up the peace and serenity out there which was the icing on the cake. Oh, speaking of cake; that 4 layered chocolate mousse cake was a winner... #delish The consensus is that we all will be going back soon.

This place is hands-down one of our favorite restaurants. Celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary there and Charles made it a special event. You can t beat the customer service. Top shelf all the way.

Great place for special occasions. Pricey.

The place is beautiful inside. However the service was horrible. I visited this place once before and I had an issues with my order and it was completely taken care of. Last night we did not get the same service. I m not sure if it was because of the group that I was with but it appeared that the manager was afraid to come and talk to us after all three dishes of the grilled chicken and cavatappi came out completely cold. Not warm but cold as if we're never cooked. The poor waiter said that he would get his manager and I would see if walk back to his manager, let him know what was going on and every time his manager sent him back to us and never came to address the situation himself. He initially told our waiter to offer us dessert as compensation. However, no one wanted dessert. I requested to have the pasta dishes comped because of the issue and the time that it took to come out but that did not happen. So just as a fair warning, you can expect to be treated differently no matter how much money you spend (our bill was a lot which is no problem because we were expecting to get the quality of food and service that we paid for) but by the group that you are with. I also had to request bread which I never had to do when I visited Citron. I hope this helps.

Lackluster service. Lackluster cuisine. Went tonight for a birthday dinner party. One person s steak was rare when asked for medium well. I ordered the calamari which was incredibly chewy (imagine chewing on rubber bands) mashed potatoes were not exciting. Reminded me of instant mashed potatoes if I am being completely honest. The service was spotty. For the amount they charge, the service should match. Server assistants did not clear old plates before new ones came etc. I could go on and on. Foreman wolf would never...

I m am very disappointed I took a to go box and I looked at my chicken and ITS NOT COOKED I already bit a piece now If I get food poisoning then we are going to have a problem

Charles is a great guy However after tonight service not sure I would want to go back. The restaurant advertised a singer Janelle we booked reservations 2 weeks before. Then called to confirm our reservations that night. They said a private event booked her and we were out of luck. I believe in always honoring a commitment. This place broke that commitment which Ruined our night out.
