Great place to eat fresh fish. Staff is friendly and very informative.
Can't beat the oysters. Lobster roll an "A-". Would of been an A but slightly greasy bun. Overall an excellent experience.
It's all about quality here which we were happy to indulge in. Small space, reminded us of the best kinds of restaurants in NYC. The food came out so quick and was delicious. Wine and beer only, come early and expect to wait a few minutes for seats to open up.
This was or second time here. There is usually a wait but it is so worth it for the seafood. Even though we are from out of town we will make it a point to visit 167 when we are in Charleston
I wish I could give negative stars to this place. The staff could not be more rude and the seafood is just okay. Hard pass!
Excellent vibe and servers. Epic selection of raw oysters. Also loved the trout crudo, lobster roll and pork taco.
From the food, atmosphere, drinks, and staff this was hands down our favorite place so far downtown Charleston.
5 stars oysters. 5 star crudo. 5 star cocktails. 5 star service.
I loved a the good and drinks here. I had two toes of raw oysters, baked oysters and the fried honey sriracha oysters along with a gin rosemary cocktail. They were all delicious. We say at the bar which was actually nice and fun!
This is an amazing place! I was in town for a wedding and I decided to try it out based on reviews and I am so glad I did. I first ordered the sampler and the seafood was amazingly fresh then I followed that with the absolute best lobster roll I have ever eaten. I wish we had this place in Florida. I would travel back to Charleston just to eat here!!
Awesome food. So so good. We had the scallop po boy and the fish taco of the day, and the house wines. All were excellent. It is a really small and intimate place, so we did have to wait outside for awhile. They do serve drinks out there so it was no biggie. Seafood was extremely fresh and tasty. We were new in town and two of the guys working the raw bar wrote down for us a ton of recommendations to take home. Not really appropriate for kids, but a great place for a date night or to go out with friends.
Very friendly & good food. Very small - we went early but wait was long so we went to on a ghost tour, came back @ 920 & still had to wait about 20 mins. Otherwise great atmosphere & all patrons &staff friendly.
It's definitely a pricier place, and portion sizes are a bit small if you can't afford too much. But the food and service are excellent! I can't wait to go back!
Had four fantastic meals in Charleston, and this one was by far the best.
We got there at 5 on a Saturday, and were lucky to grab a seat right away. Great beer and wine list to pair with your oysters. They had a menu as shown in other photos with the salinity and size of the oyster selection, which was much appreciated.
We also tried the tacos, a special shrimp appetizer, and the lobster roll. The shrimp appetizer was outstanding and the lobster roll is a must.
Best oysters and lobster rolls in the lowcountry. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, well curated menu and cocktail list. Worth the wait
This is a great seafood spot located in the historical district of downtown Charleston SC. We are staying a couple blocks away and some locals told us that we have to check this out.
Well... here we are. Enjoying oysters, shrimp, carnitas and some great wine.
Taylor was our waiter and he was great. Totally attentive to our table and our excessive wine drinking along with the great food.
The first thing we did after we came back to Charleston was going to 167 Raw and had a lobster Roll... extraordinaire!!! The waiting time is always kind of long, but we don't care, the food and the service is fantastic. The shrimp poboy is great too!
Was just perfect ! I had the tuna burger and some oyster everything was so fresh ! It was the first time I have eaten a tuna burger I don t think I will find one as good as this one. I am from canada and they had oyster from canada and I can t remember I had some oyster that fresh
A MUST EAT if you're visiting here! The Lobster Roll is THE BEST I've ever had. The Tuna Burger is very good also both as entrees if you split them.
Oysters are fantastic! All in all, a memorable experience and will be going back again.
This place is great. The food is tasty, perfect little lunch spot. The only downside for me is that they only serve beer and wine. I love my oyster shooters and like going to different restaurants and trying their variations. Maybe they are inclined to get their liquor license soon. I would definitely become a regular here.
Can't describe how good this place is. The lobster roll is epically good! The oysters were also excellent.
OMG! I had the oyster po-boy. Now I love New Orleans po-boys. I figured I'd be disappointed because the bread wasn't the usual french bread. Then they brought it out and it was absolutely nothing like a New Orleans po-boy. I have no idea what the sauces were on the sandwich, but, I'd love to have a gallon of each. The oysters were perfection, the bread was grilled and buttery. It was delicious. My SO had the swordfish sandwich. It was delicious as well. We had 6 raw oysters. They were great. Also, local draught beer. Tiny place but wow was it great. Wait staff was fantastic as well.
Fun place to get some fresh oysters or a lobster roll. That said, Bartender was friendly, albeit inattentive. Water glasses were left empty for longer than 10 min while he chit chats with guests.
Btw, it gets busy on weekends, so get here early or anticipate 2-3hour wait.
Went there the place was full. They asked is we would wait outside it would be 1/2 hour. Well a 1/2 hour later As we were waiting in the heat. A group of people (4) came by and the matrade sat them right down. I ask them if they excepted More
Always good. Mix of oysters the tacos and the crudos will leave you happy. Great hospitality too.
Had two little kids with us, it was tight, but awesome service and delicious food! Perfect way to start a Charleston vacation definitely be back.
A must eat place! Oysters, perfectly shucked. I mean perfectly! Lovely atmosphere. Great service.
We waited for and half but it was worth it. Excellent food, very friendly staff. The process were on the high side.
Food just like Cape Cod, employees are super nice! Must take a trip!
I want to start this post by saying we loved the food and service until the waiter stole from us. Food was very fresh - almost too fresh for me. But if you like seafood this is a good place. The server was very nice, he made good recommendations for beer and how to eat the seafood. They do not have a liqiour license (city won't allow it due to their size).
But let's get down to business - this restaurant should have earned five stars. We paid part of our check with a gift card. The card had $25 dollars on it. The waiter told us an elaborate story about how their machine only runs gift cards for $20 and how this is an ongoing problem. So I say no problem - tip him on the full amount on my card. Later in the evening I try to use the remaining five dollars on a different transaction and the gift card is denied. Come to find out, this scam artist ended up tipping himself more on the gift card. Am I really upset about $4, no - but it's the concept that you stole from me and did it intentionally. I wish he had his name on the receipt but all it says is Server S. Management - you should fire this man because I'm sure it's not the first time he has stolen from customers.
Forget the Lobster roll, you can get that anything!
But the Scallop roll! Must try!
Incredible food. Be prepared to wait; limited seating and the line will be out the door on weekends, especially in the summer. No reservations. We had the tuna burger and shrimp po-boy; both were fantastic.
We dined at 167 Raw the first evening of our trip and it ruined us for the rest of our time in Charleston! Awesome selection of fresh oysters, small but delicious lobster rolls and seafood tacos filled us up and we left happy. The beer selection is limited but the local craft beers did not disappoint. The restaurant is incredibly small so you will most likely have to wait but the staff if friendly and take care of you while preparing your table. Awesome experience that set the bar high for the rest of our culinary adventures through the east coast!
My #1 fav in Charleston. Quaint, delicious, killer staff that know and truly appreciate their menu. From waiting in line for the table to each moment along the way, the culinary experience and ambience is not to be missed for foodies!
Great selection from the menu. Perfect for seafood lovers. Excellent customer service.
Fantastic oysters which were super clean and salty came with a great mignonette. We also got the pastrami'ed swordfish sandwich recommended by Brandon which was delicious. Lobster roll is rich and buttery and allowed you to taste the lobster as you should. Highly recommend. Very apparent that the staff loves food and are super helpful to customers.
Always top notch! Fresh and delicious seafood with friendly staff. Love coming here.
Best seafood and oysters, OMG the oysters, anywhere in the country, maybe the universe. Get on line early and try everything.
The BEST place to get fresh oysters in Charleston. Hands down!!!
Great, small place, menu is small too,but the food amazing. Not the same old stuff.
Delicious food, great service, a rare find for not knowing where to eat in Charleston. Small place, but worth the wait (30 minutes).
The best. Fun, fantastic food, great service, a good team
This really stood out as the perfect raw bar experience for us. Fresh fresh fresh and prepared right in front of you. Impressive oyster selection. Extensive beer and wine selection. Everything stood out as superb, and in a city of great seafood- that s saying something!
Friendly staff, delicious food, cozy atmosphere! Worth the wait!!
Absolutely bomb! Killed a dozen oysters and a tuna burger. Kinda pricey but worth it!
Absolutely amazing. Pastrami swordfish sandwich, simply amazing
Best Lobster Roll in town! And best Tuna Burger....Go for lunch and avoid the wait. Can t miss this stop!
Long wait but worth it!
Checked in and put our names on the list. One hour wait around 6:30p. But once we stepped in, the food fantasy tour started. Definitely recommend everything we go. Had the appetizer sampler (shrimp, raw oysters and raw clams) and the ceviche. Then we all had lobster rolls. They were the best lobster rolls I ve ever had! Soft, buttery lightly toasted buns with the most succulent medallions of lobster.
Would totally come again and one of the best seafood experiences I ve had.
My wife and I happened to find this place, and I am so happy we did. If you are in the area please eat here!
Great service, great seafood, quick. I'd definitely go again and order the tacos. The lobster roll is also amazing.
Great little place!! Worth the wait for the great food and atmosphere!!
Good food but a little cramped and hurried. Raw means raw: there are few options if anyone in your group has dietary issues.
Really amazing oysters! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is a quaint restaurant. The service was outstanding with awesome staff. My group of 4 just went for a round on happy hour and oysters. We had a great time!
Everything was great on this restaurant. Definitely be back when in Charleston
Great oyster selection. Lobster roll was incredible. Scallop po boy was unique and delicious as well. Small place but friendly staff. Worth the wait.
The restaurant is friendly amazing good fresh food. This was my 4th time there and just as great as the first experience.
K
Quite possibly the best experience I've had in Charleston. Fly in on occasion had the tuna burger and lobster roll. Unbelievable. Great service.
Fantastic food. Had to wait, the place is tiny but we'll worth it! Everything was fresh and delicious. Go.
Delicious food, cool ambiance, chill staff and great location. The wait is worth it, and while they don t do reservations, there are plenty of shops and galleries nearby to pass the time while you wait. Had oysters that were fresh, crudo and ceviche, and all were amazing!
Fantastic!! The wife, kids and myself all loved it. Great guacamole, po boys, and lobster rolls. A++. Good beers on tap too.
In the spirit of trying a new restaurant this one was a great choice. My Husband & I were informed that it's quite popular and now I know why. Although the Shrimp Taco's & the Pork Carnita are the only two items I've tried so far from the menu I must say the Shrimp Taco's are my favorite. The wine is great as well.
This place was amazing! The staff was on point the whole night, drinks were perfect, and some of the best food I ve had. The oyster selection was fantastic too! I will definitely be coming back!
Best seafood in town, seriously. Small place is worth the wait. If you're in this area of town skip Hyman's, Noisy Oyster, Bubba Gump, and pretty much every other place near the market.
Small place with mostly seats at a bar. Excellent oysters and seafood sandwiches. Excellent service to go with the food.
Delia & Ed we came from Atlanta, best salad & Seafood, everything delicious, we had the great opportunity to be in front of the Chefs, thiese guys know what they doing! Fresh food. You can"t leave Charleston and eat in 617 Raw. PLACER A TU PALADAR. Mean ( Pleasure to your palate). Enjoy it!!!! Thanks 169 Raw.
Fantastic meal. Great ceviche. A must while in Charleston.
The fish sandwich tasted like nothing, not spiced at all. The waiter hit me with the door, hurt my thumb and didnt even say sorry.. never again
Unmissable fast food where the sandwich is made with lobster and the burger with fresh tuna. For a side dish with crisps and to eat with your fingers while sitting at the bar, it's not cheap but it's delicious! In addition, if you have the seats in front of the kitchen, you will be able to contemplate the making of your burger and admire the efficiency of the cooks!
Small, hole in the wall, excellent sea food and service!
