For the price, I would stay elsewhere.

For the price, I would stay elsewhere.
First the good: the staff was exceptional. From remembering your name to overall friendliness and helpfulness, everyone we interacted with was wonderful. The food was incredible- we ate at the non-Michelin starred section and were blown away. Both chicken and fish curries were outstanding.
However, even with these factors, we left disappointed. For a 5-Star hotel at that price, it just didn't 'feel' nice. Even with an upgrade via Amex FHR to a deluxe room it still felt *just* a bit a nicer than a Double Tree. The room and bathroom were a bit awkward without outlets were you would expect (both bedside outlets being fully used by lights/in-room phones, so no phone charging), and a much smaller TV (without some usual channels- sorry Fixer Upper fans, no HGTV) fairly far from the bed than other "lesser" hotels. I was also surprised by no in-room complimentary coffee. Only one free espresso per day. Last, but not least inconvenient, is that some rooms (ours included) require a half flight of stairs after you take the elevator. We were on a fairly long trip so were not light on bags and after getting off at the 6th floor needed to carry our bags up another half flight of stairs to get to our room. All in all, it was nice- but save the staff and people, not nicer than a much cheaper stay elsewhere.
