Urgent care, twice now, both times the nurse and receptionist were lovely. Both times the doctor couldnt have cared less about my condition. Both times I went to the ER at MGH after and was fast-tracked to corrective measures.
1) Doctor said he couldn t do anything to relieve the hematoma under...
Really a mixed bag. Some receptionist and nurses go above and beyond to help out your situation, but some just turn you away immediately without any alternative options no matter how urgent your situation is. Then you need to run around trying to find that one person who's willing to help.
My older experience was OK, but the service today was excellent! They treat abdominal pain very seriously and promptly.
I was in fever having 102F, called MIT Medical Saturday 9am and asked for telephone instructions. Had to wait two hours and make 2-3 more calls to finally speak to a ...
Knowledgeable doctors, well-integrated care systems, and insurance and prescriptions are cheaper than Harvard. Have found it convenient to make an appointment and have never waited long. I am from EU and find MIT med compares favorably to systems in my home country. Have lived in Indonesia and China...
Came in to Urgent Care at 7am. Was seen promptly, RN and NP were both extremely efficient and caring. They offered several options for treatment, depending on how much pain I was feeling. They took extra care to ensure my prescriptions were sent to the right pharmacy.
I have only worked with Specialists here, and for the most part I have been happy with MIT Medical. There are a few things that you should be aware of.
1) The receptionist at some desks are really helpful, but the receptionists at some of the other desks are afraid to smile. If you feel they are...
My son had strep throat for a couple weeks. A nursing student looked at his throat and said he need to see the doctor. Went here and they sent him home without as much as an aspirin! Terrible doctors!!! Just terrible.
I've been a student here for almost a decade. I think the nurses are great but all the doctors I've spoken with have been either wrong in their diagnosis or super-condescending. Went to MIT medical with symptoms of hiatal hernia only to have the doctor laugh at me and dismiss it as me making up symp...
One doctor in urgent care had me promise after I was trying to convince her of crucial tests precribed by my PCP (who was not available that week and told me to pass by urgent care) that she would only do them if I promised she would not be responsible for following up with me o...
Wish I could rate different departments separately. Urgent care is AMAZING. Can be a bit of a wait at the wrong time but the people are lovely, kind, caring, and everything a healthcare team should be. The pharmacy is HORRIBLE. Seriously - get your meds somewhere else if you can. The pharmacists are...
My experience with MIT medical in the past year has been a complete nightmare. Before I go into the details I must point out that I actually really like my primary care physician at MIT Medical and have only positive things to say about her. However, MIT pediatrics, Urgent Care, and pharmacy have be...
I've been to a lot of doctors in my day. Not all of them have been particularly warm, welcoming, or acted like they wanted me there. Never so much as at MIT Medical, however, wherein I was scrutinized without a filter by Dr. Amirnazmi, who was appalled by the medication I was taking to the point of ...
I've had an astonishingly and consistently good experience with MIT Medical. The system is efficient and easy to navigate, with a minimum of paperwork or confusing bureaucracy. The care has been excellent, as has the experience of navigating administration.
generally positive experiences! i love Dr. Shapiro, and i have had generally awesome experiences with the nurses etc. Even the helpdesk tries to go above and beyond. Once, when i was going to have a slight gap in my provision due to a change of status but for health reasons, i really couldn't afford...
As a long-time member of the MIT community, I've used the MIT Medical Department for many years. The MDs, nursing staff, and administrative staff are caring and able. I've had excellent care.
On the few occasions I need to see my Primary Care Doctor the clinic only ever gives me an appointment approx 4 weeks away. Each time I have made an appointment for an annual checkup the original appointment is cancelled and another one made at a significantly later date. It is comforting and stress...
I hate to see the bad reviews! I have Dr. Shapiro who is excellent. I have only had prompt great service at the desk, in the eye clinic and with x rays. I have been going to MIT medical for over 5 years and have never had an issue. The dentistry was another story but the medical has been great.
As a student coming from one of those apparently 'evil' European countries with 'socialist' healthcare systems that are derided by American politicians... I was expecting something pretty marvelous from MIT Medical.
In the end, I found myself a little bit disappointed by the level of service; 2-3...
Was there for urgent care and definitely recommend MIT Medical. Very skilled and friendly personnel! Make sure to make an appointment online to skip the line.
Worst. Very slow. It takes avg. 2 hour before talking to a nurse. No doctor at first sight. No appointment. I come here because of school insurance. But I will never come here if I have to pay myself
Extremely sexist. The first time I went with light-headedness, fatigue, and fainting spells, they wrote it off as "this is normal for women" and told me to "just go eat some protein." It took them a week to diagnose me with anemia and repeated effort on my part to say "I think this is what my sympt...
I m sorry, but I just can t trust MIT Medical again. I went in a couple weeks ago because I was showing extreme signs of chills and not being to stay awake. MIT Medical diagnosed me with dehydration (no shir, I couldn t get out bed to get water), and let me go after giving me some fluid and a gatora...
Incompetent medical staff. I had a sinus infection, but they didn't diagnose it. They diagnosed it when I visited them again after 2 weeks as my condition wasn't getting better. The doctor prescribed antibiotics, but the prescription was never sent to the pharmacy in central sq and I had to return w...
Terrible service. They treat people's life as a joke. Told me that blood work results would arrive in a day, it's been 4 days, multiple phone calls for inquiry and 3 in person visits. They always say, they'll call by the end of the day, they never do.
Dr Angela Fowler is the primary care provider I consulted with. She is very professional, patient and follows the best logical course of treatment while taking prompt action. One of the best providers I have encountered. The staff in general also was very courteous.
Very difficult to schedule an appointment within 2 months (my experience with eye exams and general checkups). My most recent appointment was rescheduled 3 times. Doctors are fine, if you can actually see them.
edit: they've also stopped doing routine care throughout COVID-19
