I really love their glasses but am SO DISAPPOINTED with their customer service. After years of being a MJ "loyalist" I have one pair that needs to be sent in for repair every year (not that big of a deal) but got my first pair that just is not comfortable. I got it from an optical office and MJ will not exchange, repair and exchange or even give me a credit on their online store for something I can wear. I spoke with 2 email reps, 1 phone rep and 1 manager and they are all sorry but I have to just have a $300 pair of glasses sit here and rot since I cannot wear them? That is ridiculous.

Will I still buy MJ? Yep because their lenses are superior but I know their customer service is not optimal so I will be careful what I buy.

I've been a Maui Jim customer for 30+ years - and have easily purchased over a dozen pair. After 2 years of wear, a VERY expensive pair of their prescription lens began deteriorating and (so far) Maui Jim has not been willing to do anything about it. Unlike their normal lenses, which they will replace for $60, they won't offer anything for the much more expensive prescription lenses. Fingers crossed they'll change their position, and I'll get to change this to a 4-star rating.

The sunglasses I bought before were damaged a little, so when I took it, I changed the lens in 30 minutes.

Mauji Jim website forces you to accept cookies in order to shop with them. Bad idea. I'll look for another brand.

Love the fit and clarity of the Maui Jim. Fix -frames that had broken hinge that were 10 years old. Maui Jim for Life thanks

Love my Maui Jim's - I would be lost without them...as well as blind. Wear them everywhere, so when I stepped on them 2 weeks before I was to leave for Mexico ..I was bummed. Packed them up and shipped them off to Repair with a note explaining the situation and asking for their return ASAP. Was a bit taken back when I phoned about them and got the call center in the US - after all I am Canadian and I shipped them to the repair center in Canada. After 3 days of different stories on their progress by 4 different people - A young man at the US Call Center gave me the Canadian # which I called and spoke with Jenny. Sweet lady. Fixed my glasses by basically replacing the whole frame - for $12.60 !! - as a customer courtesy. More importantly they were shipped that day and were sitting on my door step the next ! Wow. That is Customer Service. Very Greatly Appreciated. Thank You Jenny.

The sun glasses that you so enjoy are better off being bought from the store that resells them where you live. If you are excited to come in and see the place where they come from because you are a fan you will be sorely disappointed. Do not expect good customer service. They couldn t care less about your enthusiasm

This place is awesome!!!! If you are a Maui Jim fan which I have been for almost 2 decades. If Maui Jim makes it currently it is at this store. Do not confuse this place with the "authorized dealer" on front street. This is the legit place and waaaayyyyy better.

I brought my Maui Jim's sun glasses for a repair and they fixed them in less than 20 minutes. They are like new again. Great service and very nice.

This is their store. This is where it all started in 1980. They only sell here . No repairs. We were informed of that fact yesterday.

If you need your lenses repaired/replaced it's a flat fee of $65.

There's everything here as far as the latest and greatest in their line.

It's a bit underwhelming as far as the design of the store. So understated. Very Hawaii. Two short walls lined with sunglasses. With cheap mirrors that are so small that it makes you wonder if they even care how they look? Or how the customers feel when they use their mirror? My friend that bought a pair of sunglasses said it nicely. The mirror is "wonky" . It's just weird to me that a sunglasses store will give you a distorted view of a mirror to use while you're trying to decide to buy or not. Are they banking on their amazing lenses ? Because that's all that you will get here. Customer service is almost non existent.

I've been here many times and it's time to write how I feel about this place. There's almost always three ladies working here and they give zero fu*** about their customers. They're cold and not very Hawaii. Or better yet-not one utter of welcome to their ball and chain job ( it seem to me) because one look at your watch you know it's 3pm. Because these girls will jump out from behind that counter and won't talk to you at all with the slightest measure of eye contact while closing shop.

So customer service is apparently not important here. Lenses are still great and to me almost unchallenged out there.

Will I go back? I'm not sure. The three stars is mainly for customer service. Lenses are still an amazing FIVE STARS!

Great customer service! Dropped off my prescription sunglasses I bought 8 years ago, they tuned them up, new nose pieces and gave me a new case and satchel for free. While I was waiting I bought my wife a pair! Love these guys!

Love the glasses. But our resort was selling the exact same pair for $30 less. So we didn't purchase here. Great looking store though.

Very disappointed, just bought a pair of glasses worth over $250 - 8 months ago. The lens split in half. They brag about there 2 year warranty but when you need to use it. They blame it on you and charge you the standard $60.00 plus tax.

Of course we had to get a pair of Maui's in Maui! We love Maui Jim glasses, NONE better! We bought a pair of the new green lenses and holt cow, seriosuly amazing! Worth every penny! The team here was awesome and incredibly helpful! The store is clean and well organized and there were plenty of people to handle the crowd of people there. The ladies were very helpful and eager to make sure we were highly satisfied with our purchase!

I have owned Maui Jim sunglasses for more than 20 years and they are by far the best sunglasses on the Market. When I have an issue with my sunglasses, I can ship them to their repair centers and they do a great job of fixing them and even sending you the technicians name and contact info if you have any questions. The Maui location was a good send, as last time I was here I was able to walk in and within 20 minutes the returned my glasses... I brought them in with scratched lenses and they replaced them with brand new ones and charged me a minimal fee... it was like getting a new pair for 80% off... both my wife and I will never buy another brand again.

So first off, this review would be a 10 star if I was only reviewing the sunglasses, needless to say, this review is about the customer service and front office employees we experienced today. I never write reviews, but here I am, the only reason is that we feel strongly about the way we felt when we were at Maui Jim's in Lahaina today. While the girls were quick to address our requests for repairs, the air of unfriendliness was quite thick. We did not feel like they cared about anything that we had to say, compliments about Maui Jim pour out of our mouths, we have been loyal customer for over 16 years.
First impressions are so very important, we felt as if we were interrupting something or perhaps we were an inconvenience or a pest that you would like to quickly get rid of. While trying on new styles, no feedback was given nor any help, we had to ask prices and got quick short answers with not one tone of friendliness attached. I am all about customer service and making people feel welcome, never in my life would I like to make anyone feel unimportant to my business. Maui Jim is a huge brand and the front desk employees are not representing the brand well at all.
I am disappointed to be writing this review, I hope to find a better atmosphere next time I visit.

I have about 4 pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses, I bought 2 more the other day from a Facebook posting, I don t think these glasses are authentic, my PayPal account shows a Asian company is this for real?

Was at the store on March 22nd to replace some scratched lenses. Served by a young
short Asian lady that was extremely rude and not cut out to work in retail. Don t recommend shopping there is you appreciate good customer service. Definitely not the Aloha you expect. She is doing the store a diservace. My 5th pair of Maui Jim s, definitely will not buy from there again!

Super nice they cleaned my glasses. How ever they would not replace my clearly defective lenses and for that I am unable to give a full 5 Star. I mean come on people the glasses are guaranteed for life. At least so they say. Not in my case I will not be buying anymore Maui Jim s.

Broke the nose bridge on my shades. Stopped in and she fixed it in 5 minutes/no charge!! Awesome! But.....parking is a NIGHTMARE. Have someone drop you off and pick you up.... easy to just make a loop

If you love good sunglasses, a must visit. If you have damaged frames... they give you a new pair for $80. If you have scratched lenses, you get a brand new pair for $75. If your glasses are damaged and old (they no longer make them) you get a new pair for the prices above. Limited hours and very small parking spaces are the only negatives

I went to Maui Jim to get my sunglass lenses repaired. I had wanted to see the store in person for a few years and was excited to go. I was expecting much more than the store offered, but that's okay. I paid $75 for the repair and was told to come back or wait for 10 minutes while they made the repair. I'm certain they replaced the entire pair of sunglasses as some scratches on the frame were gone.

I'm done giving Maui Jim my hard earned money. When you pay top dollar for something you deserve impeccable customer service, right? I personally took time to come into the store in order to have my warranty issue handled face to face, not to be told to call some 800 number for assistance. Quality has decreased and clearly their customer service has as well. Good bye Maui Jim, I'm moving on to your competition.

Ok so I go to this store and shop on waine e street every visit to Maui every year. Needless to say I have more then one pair of Maui Jim sun glasses. I particularly enjoy the Hawaii special edition glasses. This past May I bought a new pair PEAHI WHICH ARE FANTASTIC. when I returned to the mainland the glass case zipper had popped open and would not zipper shut. I emailed Maui Jim support and received an email from Abbey S who stated that due to her limited supply of special edition cases all she could send was a standard case. I responded to her email that although disappointed was ok with a standard hard case. Abbey responded that she would check other stores and get back to me. That was all in a space of 24 hours - well today 24 hours later I received a new limited edition case she found at a store in Oahu.

Got a pair of sunglasses from the Maui Jims corporate office in Lahaina a couple of months ago.. Same style I have been using for close to 20 years. A few weeks ago noticed that one arm bends every time I put the sunglasses on.. This pair has hinged arms and the metal seems to be so soft that s the frame bends before the hinge opens. Like I said I ve had many of the exact same sunglasses before. I ve smashed them and bent them back into shape a bunch of times and they were fine. I ve paid for replacements when I mess up and paid for replacement lenses when I damage them. This pair was only weeks old and the metal seemed so soft ( obviously defective) I wanted to take them back befor it broke and they just say I broke it.
I went in today and explained my situation today the young lady, she took the sunglasses in back, and returned less than a minute later... She said that the metal was weakened because I had been bending it... It was ABUSE on my part and NOT covered. I was shocked they would not honor a warranty on a product I had gotten from THEM only weeks earlier. I m in shock... after 20+yrs of faithful service and what I felt WAS excellent customer service, we have come to a child telling me that I broke my defective $250 sunglasses playing with it. I m done with overpriced Maui Jims!!

Stopped in on vacation to get my sunglasses fixed and received great service. I've always been happy with the service center in Maui. Love my glasses!

Showed up at 259 and lady locked the door on me and told me there were other places in town after traveling 1690 miles. Talk about customer service !

Arrived 10 minutes before closing and already had the cabinets all covered up, said we close at 3. Exactly it s 2:50 not 3!! Very poor customer service, will not go back.

I can't say any more than the hundreds before. These are my favorite sunglasses. I think I have 4 pair!

Ive been a customer of Maui Jims for 8 yrs now.
I work as a charter boat Captain and have always enjoyed the lens quality.
However my last 2 purchases over the last 2 yrs, I've found the quality and durability of the frames have gone down.
They will repair your shades for $75
But after repairing the same glasses 3 times in 1 yr and twice for my other pair. I'm recommending potential clients seek your eyewear elsewhere, unless you like throwing money away

Came in to have lenses replaced on an old model. Was informed that they didn't have the lenses in stick anymore and was oferred a new pair of sunglasses for the same price of the lenses replacement. This is what I call customer service!

They were very helpful and nice here. The store was busy and the line was long and loved slowly, but they have a great selection. Same prices as sunglass hut etc.

Above and beyond customer service: Ho'okipa. I'm not one to post reviews, but I am one to go into a store *mostly* knowing *exactly* what I want, but only *mostly*... I had a pair of Maui Jim's for like...8 years? before I broke and scratched them, and I went in to have them repaired and/or get a new pair as a birthday gift to myself. Even with COVID the store was completely organized and the staff was WAY beyond helpful. Since I rarely get new sunglasses, I spent an inordinate amount of time trying on pair after pair (that they then had to clean off) and having pretty much everyone on the staff help me, including someone in the parking lot who turned out to be the husband of a frame designer, LOL! I walked out with a pair I absolutely love, and with amazing customer service for my old pair as well. Needless to say, that sort of experience is what makes one a customer for life...not to mention how the lenses are just unbeatable. (IMHO) Mahalo nui loa MJ!
