The Field Museum is great! Lots to see for the price of admission and lots more to add on for some extra cash. This was my first time back since Sue moved and got her own experience, that was cool to see! We also saw Antarctic Dinosaurs which was very cool as well! Will be returning for Mummies! It's a little pricey but you get a lot of bang for your buck! You can eat at one of their restaurants or bring a sack lunch of your own! Wear good shoes, as with most museums the floors are hard on the feet. Parking is expensive ($25). Still a great time and lots to learn!

Fun day at the Field! Plenty to do, see and read. Loved the Mummies, Gemstones, Opal room and the Ancient Americas. Got membership and will be back for sure. Food wise go to the bistro, the one downstairs is a pretty basic cafeteria - might be better if weather permitting you can sit outside. In our case it was lashing and we sat in which is pretty soulless.

Great museum and relative big thus check what you want to see. The dinosaur/fossil exhibit is well done and especially Sue t-rex. It is both interested for general public as proffesionsal (fossil enthusiastics). Other exhibits are good too with many objects. But, again, make up your minde what you want to see before entering. Note that the entrance price is low.

Maximo is huge!! The museum moved sue the Tyrannosaurus Rex to the second floor and is in the process of finishing her own exhibit. The museum has so much to see that it's worth spending more than a day here. Definitely spend some time here during the bad weather that can hit Chicago in the winter time. Parking is a bit expensive but plenty of it is available and that's typical for Chicago.

Love The Field Museum, always learn something new with every trip! If you re visiting Chicago from out of town, spend a day at our museums! Half day at Field, and half day at Museum of Science & Industry- you won t be sorry! Also, right outside Field & the Shedd is the best place to watch the Air & Water Show.

An incredible museum where you could spend days going through the beautifully curated exhibits. From gemstones to world history to dinosaurs, this museum has something for everyone. My favorite exhibits were the Halls of the Pacific and the Hall of Birds. The amount of information is overwhelming, but extremely fascinating.

WARNING: DO NOT purchase your tickets on Google with Tiqets.com, they will charge you $40 for a BASIC admission. We made that mistake and the museum would not accept that we actually paid for the All Access admission.

The Chicago Field museum is amazing! I enjoyed every second of it. Not enough time to check out everything. One of the coolest things was being able to see the stuffed Tsavo Lions. Memorable experience there. I have to revisit the next time I'm in Chicago.

My family saw the Jurassic world exhibit. It was fantastic. The dinosaurs were so realistic, very impressive. My little ones were a little frightened, but have been asking to go back every since. First time there so we were a little confused on how to get back to our car, so pay close attention to which way you walk. But I definitely recommend attending.

So big! Don't plan on seeing everything in one (or 5)) visit. It's definitely worth a visit. If you get there 15 mins before opening, you should be able to find affordable street parking in front of the planetarium, which is cheap and very convenient. For little kids, be sure to check out the play lab in the basement. Bring your own food if possible.

It is a beautiful and very large building. The best is SUE, excellent experience, but very short. The only thing I did not like is that unlike the art institute of Chicago, there is not a line for those who pay the go city card or the city pass, it should speed things up and give a benefit to who we consume it.

We ended up here via citypass due to the aquarium having a 2 hr line up. Our two daughters (2 and 4yrs) had fun but most of it was over thier heads. They enjoyed the soil exhibit and the 3d bird movie. I probably wouldn't take them back until they were in thier teens but I may go back to see what we missed.

Not going to lie. I hate museums, much less museums dedicated to geology and rocks and you know the drill. HOWEVER! This place has Sue. A T-Rex Dinosaur people. So because of that, I can't recommend it enough. There's other awesome dinosaurs too! Check it out if you have time.

There are nicer museums in the world but by American standards a nice extensive museum. They have a very good collection / exhibition about the Amerikas and their history. What is very nice in this museum is the way everything is exhibited. The Indian stuff is exhibited as much as possible in an Indian decor and so also in the Egypt department. This gives a better sense of how the items were used and in which environment.

Chicago's Field Museum, one of the world's great museums of natural history was built to house the biological and anthropological collections assembled for the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893. Over the last 125 years, the museum's collection has grown to an astounding 24 million objects, ranging from ancient mummies to exquisite gemstones, and endangered plants to dinosaur fossils.

We were in town visiting and this was the only place we had time to go. This was such a great trip. There was so much to see and they were assembling a new dino while we were there. My favorite part of the museum was seeing all the animals from different parts of the world.

Be ready to wonder. Make time in your day. So much to see. The 3D movie about SUE was not very good and definitely not family friendly. Violence and blood. I understand that is a animal but there is no reason to show the animal being eaten or attacked. The rest of the experience was good. There was a great area for kids to explore and play. Staff was nice and friendly. Overall experience was great.

The field museum is fabulous. We visited a few times a year, and we love it every time. Even if it's busy, there is plenty of space so it doesn't seem crowded at all. There is such a variety of things to look at that you'll never see it all in one day. People might not know about the stuffed, once live narwhals, seals, and walruses that are down in the very lowest level where the cafeteria tables are. Be sure to check those out!

Girls Day out! The 3/4D movie "Sue" was not what we expected! It was a little gory for smaller Children. I was squeemish from the bloody carcus Sue was eating! Parking was $25 we had 4 Children and ourselves and then to feed them lunch was a bit much for a family ( our grandchildren). Other than the pricing we loved it!

This place was pretty amazing. It's also pretty big. I would allow myself at least 4 hours to move through the entire place at a reasonable pace. They covered everything from whales to 9/11.

Me, my Mom and Sister took a trip to chicago six months ago and decided to stop here. I loved everything about it, I just wish they had a bigger selection of taxidermy Leporids c:. Went through the whole Museum and my mom's Back was really hurting(She has a Back problem). So if you have a Back problem than you probably could only make it through about two exhibits.

I've been to The Field Museum many times, and it's always a treat, with a huge collection that could easily take the better part of the day to take in, if you're so inclined. The dinosaur fossil collection is always a hit with the young kids, who might not have the interest or patience for some of the more esoteric (for a child) areas.
