If I could visit more often I would. What a wonderful gift to the people of Chicago. The architecture alone is worth stopping by for, let alone the constantly revolving exhibits. Beautifully curated and well researched, for someone like myself who loves endless factoids this place is a dream.

201706 Visit using CityPass. If you look slowly here, there are enough exhibitions that you can easily pass a day.

There is a space where you can eat as soon as you enter the entrance. There is beer. There is a hamburger. By mistake I didn't like a turkey burger. Maybe tough for Japanese.

Nearby are the Shedd Aquarium and the Adler Planetarium.

We loved this place! The architecture and detail to decoration around this place was incredible. I thought it was kind of strange that it closed on Saturday at 5pm, we wished we could see more because there was so much to see!

Just like the planetarium it was twisty and turvy and we came to multiplier forks in the road and weren t sure which to take or how to get back after.

Excellent experience overall. The Dino exhibit is located at the back of the building to the right, upstairs. Walking through Africa was pretty neat too, as well as being able to see the scores of different animal species on display.

Astonishing museum, admission was free (February: Free every day April: 5-7 May: 2nd June: 26-28) but we still had to pay for Mummies and China exhibits $16 each.
Parking is $25 ,$25 in Soldier Field and $5 for 3 hours for street parking by Alder Planetarium.
I really liked Inside Ancient Egypt ,Cyrus Tang Hall of China, Mummies, Grainger Hall of Gems with real meteorites! as you walk to the hallway.
Animal displays were awesome, really extensive collection.
Polynesian & Tibetan exhibitions are also very interesting, face masks, weapons, shields, knives, jewelry will blow you away.
Griffin Halls of Evolving Planet/SUE the T. rex(includes other dinosaurs) is also worth checking out.

Kids activities:
Crown Family PlayLab & Grainger science hub highly recommended!

Visited the African and Ancient Americas exhibits on an afternoon visit and took advantage of the free guided tours. The guided tours are very informative and highly recommended for the young audience. So much to explore here and one afternoon is nearly not enough to fit all that this place has to offer. If you like to bike they have a Divvy station on the south entrance of field museum and few bike racks are available for bike owners on the west side of the museum.

Went here on a free day 2/9/20. Walked around for a few hours before we realized it was almost time to go. Sue's new exhibit is really fun and interactive with a video highlighting different parts of the dinosaur. Definitely need to go again to see more.

This is a Wonder full place but there are a lot of paid for add-ons that you have to get to experience everything. It is a full day and there's not any way to get through it in a few hours LOL. My son is 6 and he had an amazing time looking at the dinosaurs and Sue as well as learning about mummies.

Great museum, lots of interesting exhibits, decently priced, quick walk from the train station, would give 5 stars, but it can be confusing to navigate and find things, also they moved Sue,she no longer greets visitors when they enter.

This is where you go when you want to loose your mind on information! It is crazy how much you can learn just going there for an hour, but an hour is no where near enough time to really enjoy it. I would suggest putting aside a minimum of 5 hours to really enjoy yourself. Make sure you visit the dinosaurs! SO MUCH FUN!

Spent 6 hours here, still didn't see everything. This museum is much too large to tackle in a single day. The exhibits are absolutely amazing and the sheer volume of items and artifacts is breath taking. Well worth the ticket prices! Try to get here as the doors open so you can spend as much time as possible soaking in all of the exhibits!

This is a beautiful museum. So much to do. The America's exhibit was really interesting. Love the new Sue exhibit. Interesting to learn about how she was found and recovered. As well, to learn how they study her to learn about her life. The hanging garden is beautiful. Mummies...what's not to love about ancient Egypt? Always fascinated by this culture.
