Lots to see. Well organized. Helpful staff. Miss Sue being in the lobby; where she's at now, she's hard to see.

Huge place. Be prepared to spend hours here, or plan multiple visits to see everything.
I love the field museum I went there for a trip and we went to Wendy's afterwards
Very awesome time, it was my kids 1st time. I just wish the elevator and bathrooms could accommodate more people at a time.
I absolutely loved the exhibits on display. The ability to wander and find exciting new things to learn brings me back to my childhood.
Just a great place to look at a lot of interesting things . A few years ago I seen the King Tut exhibit and it blew my mine !!!!
About 6 hours for an adult that actually reads the exhibits. Cafe is okay. Highlights are fossil and Egypt exhibits.
World class museum that is not to be missed. Plan a full day just for this museum.
Wonderful place. Was crowed though . Wanted to see the mummies but too long of lines. Parking was expensive to see museum. Soooooo ma y wonderful and informative things to see and learn.
A must see in Chicago! We toured a replica of aa Egyptian tomb that seemed very authentic, and had great signs to help us understand what we were seeing.
Very educational! A ton of items to view and many that my 7 year old daughter enjoyed. The price to enter is over priced!
If I could visit more often I would. What a wonderful gift to the people of Chicago. The architecture alone is worth stopping by for, let alone the constantly revolving exhibits. Beautifully curated and well researched, for someone like myself who loves endless factoids this place is a dream.
Got to see Sue back at home. Staff are very friendly and helpful to guide you are the beautiful exhibitions.
Awesome place to spend a day and within walking distance to other attractions like millennium park.
Not enough time to see it all if your not up early but never the less it was awesome
While waiting in the line for a 3D movie Antarctica. Employee slid down the handrail. I prefer to have my handrail minus an employees butt on it.
The mummy exhibition is really cool, so are the dinosaurs exhibited.
I always find something that relates to what my students are studying here we come every year and see something new.
Plenty of interesting exhibits, you could spend all day there if you really wanted to learn or just see everything.
One of the best museum i ever visited. Best place to know about the past. The way of exhibitions is excellent. Every stuff are well maintained.
Love seeing the dinosaur and nature walk areas. This is definitely my favorite of the Chicago museums!
A great place to learn and see different things. There are many different topics and artifacts to see. Had an educating experience and would come back again.
201706 Visit using CityPass. If you look slowly here, there are enough exhibitions that you can easily pass a day.
There is a space where you can eat as soon as you enter the entrance. There is beer. There is a hamburger. By mistake I didn't like a turkey burger. Maybe tough for Japanese.
Nearby are the Shedd Aquarium and the Adler Planetarium.
Absolutely fantastic Museum! I spent hours here looking at exhibits. Loved the Egyptian Section and Fossil collection. Must be on the place to stop if you are in Chicago!
We loved this place! The architecture and detail to decoration around this place was incredible. I thought it was kind of strange that it closed on Saturday at 5pm, we wished we could see more because there was so much to see!
Just like the planetarium it was twisty and turvy and we came to multiplier forks in the road and weren t sure which to take or how to get back after.
So much to see and so little time. Need at least one full day to explore. Really enjoyed the special exhibit they had on nature photography.
I loved meeting Sue! It was a great museum and the Jurassic World was a great exhibit.
Fascinating exhibits beyond dinosaurs: meteorites, minerals, Chinese history. More than you can assimilate in a single day.
The museum itself was great. The coat check was awful. If you go to this museum don't go to either the cafe or the coat check.
Absolutely fantastic first time I was greeted in best way the exhibits were astounding and beyond expectation I'm glad I made long journey to see this wonderful museum
Extremely fascinating. Plan to spend lots of time here.
An old local favorite, a must see for tourists. We spent most of one day and couldn't see it all.
Very good place to buy appliances at cheaper and cheaper prices.
We love this place. My daughter wants to be a paleontologist so she could live here! Now is the time to go and see Maximo!
Superb Displays Highly Recommend for anyone interested in Native American History & Culture.
Excellent experience overall. The Dino exhibit is located at the back of the building to the right, upstairs. Walking through Africa was pretty neat too, as well as being able to see the scores of different animal species on display.
Loved it...we didn't get to see everything. You need a good couple of days to fully take in the experience. Awesome collections and exhibits. Great educational experience.
Great place. If you have Kids younger than 5, skip everything and see the fossils, twice. Then leave.
Great museum!!! I loved the exhibits! Sue is amazing! The staff was friendly and nice! The ticket master, recommended a cheaper package due to the time allotment that we had! Super nice!
Astonishing museum, admission was free (February: Free every day April: 5-7 May: 2nd June: 26-28) but we still had to pay for Mummies and China exhibits $16 each.
Parking is $25 ,$25 in Soldier Field and $5 for 3 hours for street parking by Alder Planetarium.
I really liked Inside Ancient Egypt ,Cyrus Tang Hall of China, Mummies, Grainger Hall of Gems with real meteorites! as you walk to the hallway.
Animal displays were awesome, really extensive collection.
Polynesian & Tibetan exhibitions are also very interesting, face masks, weapons, shields, knives, jewelry will blow you away.
Griffin Halls of Evolving Planet/SUE the T. rex(includes other dinosaurs) is also worth checking out.
Kids activities:
Crown Family PlayLab & Grainger science hub highly recommended!
Visited the African and Ancient Americas exhibits on an afternoon visit and took advantage of the free guided tours. The guided tours are very informative and highly recommended for the young audience. So much to explore here and one afternoon is nearly not enough to fit all that this place has to offer. If you like to bike they have a Divvy station on the south entrance of field museum and few bike racks are available for bike owners on the west side of the museum.
Went here on a free day 2/9/20. Walked around for a few hours before we realized it was almost time to go. Sue's new exhibit is really fun and interactive with a video highlighting different parts of the dinosaur. Definitely need to go again to see more.
Easily the best museum I've been to, everything you'd ever want to see is here. Make it a two day trip or plan to make this your only stop for the day!
This is a Wonder full place but there are a lot of paid for add-ons that you have to get to experience everything. It is a full day and there's not any way to get through it in a few hours LOL. My son is 6 and he had an amazing time looking at the dinosaurs and Sue as well as learning about mummies.
Great museum, lots of interesting exhibits, decently priced, quick walk from the train station, would give 5 stars, but it can be confusing to navigate and find things, also they moved Sue,she no longer greets visitors when they enter.
This is where you go when you want to loose your mind on information! It is crazy how much you can learn just going there for an hour, but an hour is no where near enough time to really enjoy it. I would suggest putting aside a minimum of 5 hours to really enjoy yourself. Make sure you visit the dinosaurs! SO MUCH FUN!
Compared to the nearby Aquarium and Planetarium this museum wqs not able to impress us as much.
Worth paying attention - interesting exhibitions. I would recommend!
Many places you had to buy extra tickets to see, but it was still quite fun for my husband and I.
Expansive museum with a number of theaters and exhibits. A great addition to the rest of the excellent museums in the area.
Very informative place, but I hoped it was open longer as I couldn't get through the entire thing
Thought we would spend a few hours here, and ended up spending the entire day. Literally overwhelmed by how much the museum has to offer and how great every single exhibit is.
It was fun, but not amazing, and the gift shop is waaaayyy over priced, like a small stuffed animal that was like 4 inches tall was $12.00 so...
Parking is far away. Lots of taxidermy and video signs. Massive museum with the sue dinosaur bones in the middle. Not terribly expensive over all decent experience.
One of the best museums I have visited. I try to visit at least once a year.
Spent 6 hours here, still didn't see everything. This museum is much too large to tackle in a single day. The exhibits are absolutely amazing and the sheer volume of items and artifacts is breath taking. Well worth the ticket prices! Try to get here as the doors open so you can spend as much time as possible soaking in all of the exhibits!
The museum was very interesting. "sue" the T-Rex is amazing and the bones are real
Exhilarating experience! So much to see! Budget more than one day if you want to see it all.
one of my favorite museums in chicago. so much taxidermy!! the museum is separated into different exhibits, so you can really tour through each space with proper context
You can spend a full day here, but you will only be mildly amused.
This is a beautiful museum. So much to do. The America's exhibit was really interesting. Love the new Sue exhibit. Interesting to learn about how she was found and recovered. As well, to learn how they study her to learn about her life. The hanging garden is beautiful. Mummies...what's not to love about ancient Egypt? Always fascinated by this culture.
