It was a great experience for us. Easily accessible via public transportation, and the museum has a variety of different things to see. Definitely worth visiting.
We love the Field Museum! Be sure to google free museum days for upcoming free entry dates.
Excellent exhibits you can easily spend days there.
It was a wonderful experience and the museum staff were very nice.
The Filed Museum is my jam. I'm a member, which means I get to see like every single thing they have to offfer. I'm a total history nerd, so this museum is like heaven. My favorite exhibit right now is probably the Lascaux Caves exhibit, it's sweet. I also wanna see the bioluminescent one.
Really cool place. A lot of interesting things to look. Dinosaurs displays amazing.
Great museum for a date or family. You will see a lot and learn a lot from it.
A classic! Architecture alone makes this museum worth the visit. Incredible collection of real & alive looking animals, particularly aves. Egyptian exhibit is mysterious & gems exhibit is entrancing. Walking through the chronological history of life on the planet (punctuated by extinctions) is very informative.
This is a must see place in Chicago. Loved it!! Parking sucks but this place is awesome! Make sure this is one of your top 3 stops while in Chicago.
Loved the new 'digs' for Sue! The Ancient China exhibit is Amazeballs, too!
I could spend days at this museum and still not see all the amazing exhibits - truly a paradise for learning.
Great museum with quality exhibits. Extremely huge - suggest allocating at least 4-5 hours to visit it.
Awesome museum with excellent exhibits. Always a great time.
Good collection of American history, Egyptian pyramids and natural fossils
It s very big museum. You need at least 5 hours to watch the entire museum. That s most beautiful museums I have ever been to. You can see a real dinosaur skull. I would like to recommend this place to everybody who loves to watch museums.
This place is a lot better than I remember it being as a kid.
Awesome! Didn't get to see everything but it was amazing!
This is by far the best museum in Chicago. There's so much to see, definitely give it a couple of days.
An absolute must-visit for Chicago -- and honestly, for the country. A wonderful natural history museum with tons of exhibits and stunningly gorgeous architecture.
Excellent museum of natural history. The collection is huge, and the presentation taking you through millions of years history is very well made.
This place is incredible, so much to do and see. It would take multiple days to see everything there is to see. The dinosaur exhibit is very well done and puts the information in a really easy to consume manner.
Worth a trip, although Museum of Natural History in NY is better, in my opinion
Such an informative museum with fantastic displays.
After 15 years I went back to visit the museum and it's always a treat to learn new stuff.
We took our grandkids, they had a thousand questions! A great place to visit and spend some time.
We spent 4 hours there and we probably could have stayed for a couple more. Best museum this far!
Spent all day here. Great museum with engaging exhibits. Would absolutely go back.
One of the absolute best natural history museums in the world.
Been going here since I was a kid to see Sue. Took my 4 y/o son to meet her and Maximo, the new dino at the Field. It's a must see whether you're local or visiting!!
You could literally spend all day there looking at stuff. The mummies are very cool and so are the meteors. There s a whole section on the Times a meteor hit cars and houses. Sue the trex is also very cool now that she s back in Chicago. A large portion of the museum is dedicated to taxidermied animals I swear they have every animal to ever exist. The Dinosaur collection is very cool it will surely keep a kid occupied for quite some time.
Great place to kill time. We have a membership here.
One of the country's most famous museums, it won't let you down.
I wish we had planned more time to be here. I suggest spending most of your day, there is so much to see!
We loved the clay warriors exhibition, also Sue the dinosaur :)
Beautiful place to visit. But the make people who visit from out of state pat $8, when people from Chicago just have to pay $3. My family and I spent 1:30 minutes in one exhibit, we couldn't find an exit, no matter where we looked; and we had a train to catch 30 minutes later.
Better than NY and DC and that's saying a lot. This museum is fantastic! You'll need a deep pocket book ($25+/person) and 3-6 hours to really enjoy it all.
Could stay here for days to really look at each exhibit. Unfortunately only had the morning before a flight. Went specifically for the insects exhibit which was so so cool. Really interesting and the bug models were impressive. We also had a chance to check out plants of the world and the jade exhibits before we had to run!
Excellent place. The bad thing is that to see and take advantage of everything there is to go very early or take 2 days. There is a lot of information and many exhibits ....
Had a very good time here. It took us all day to go around the whole place and I feel that we missed some thigs to look at.
My favorite museum in Chicago. There's so much to see here! Can usually get through a couple exhibits in an afternoon
Interesting exhibits both in house and traveling ones. Is pricy though.
The Field Museum is a lot of fun! The Americas Exhibit is very well designed and not organized by chronology, but rather by societal / thematic groupings. It really tries to make personal connections with the visitors. Dramatic ending on contact!
What an amazing place! Easily one of the best natural history museums in the world.
This museum is full of rare and interesting things. It is not flashy or particularly geared towards kids, but it is impressive and deserves a full day or more to see all it contains.
The entire museum is worth. I liked the room where they have the tyrannosaurus.
Illinois free days are an excellent opportunity to experience what the museum has to offer. Discounts on prices for exhibits, friendly staff, a great family educational outing.
Nice big museum near Chicago's lakefront on the beautiful museum campus. There is a lot to see and do, but not really for young kids/toddlers. It's more for older kids and adults because it is very educational, with not many exhibits that are hands-on. You can easily spend a whole day there immersed in all that it offers. It's multi-level so there is a lot of ground to cover to see all or most of the exhibits on display.
Really big and great displays of dinosaurs and more
Best natural history museum ever. Love the way the animals are posed realistically in the displays, and the generous interpretive material. The staff are very helpful to the handicapped. The 3D movie was great as well.
Love! Our children loved! Collected the little wax figurines from all around.
