Mediocre food. The kids did not like the fried chicken dinner or any of the sides lol. The wife enjoyed some of the sides. Thought the chicken was ok but a little dry. I have celiacs so I ordered the rotisserie chicken but of course they were out. So then I ordered the Bavarian sausage. You get 3 kinds. All 3 were undercooked. One kind of tastes like sausage. One tasted like bologna. The 3rd tasted like nothing. No flavor at all. All 3 were small. Not worth $10, let alone $25. There are a few local restaurants that have much better food at much better prices. Unless you just want the experience, or are a bus full of old people, look elsewhere. The bakery downstairs is awesome however.

It s not the same as I remember when I was a kid. Now that I live closer to here, I have come numerous times. But the chicken tastes bland, or like it has too much of their chicken seasoning. The prices are very high for bland chicken.

A family memory to be sure. Zehnders is definitely a destination for those who tour Michigan. They seem to line you up and serve you too fast. The food is salty, the sides are not your average choices, but overall I'll be back.

Man sweetest day, saturday buffet and a generally nice weathered Saturday combined to make a heck of a busy night at Zhenders. My family growing up came here, and i try to bring my family now. The flavors of zhenders are a true comfort food. Gives you the feeling like a long lost relative you havent seen for a while.

I gave them 2 stars because our waiter was nice. The food on the other hand, not so nice. The chicken, which we drove from Columbus Ohio to have, was very generic. We are fans of Amish Country cooking where the chicken is outstanding. This place chicken resembles the stuff from Churches Chicken. Popeyes has better chicken. Then there's the mashed potatoes. They tasted like instant potatoes. Maybe that flavor came from the gravy. But at $23.99 a person we felt ripped off. We left very disappointed and not much we could do about it. And the amazing thing is just how many people are lined up for this. A large family would be better off getting in a van and driving to Amish Country if you want to get good food. So, we learned a lesson today. To bad it cost us so much money. I think these other people get caught up in the hype of Frankenmuth to see that it's really not that good.

Did the reservation thing and we're super glad we did. It's a very popular place and the lines were super long. We only waited 5 mins for our table. In spite of how busy it was, the waitress made us feel like we were the only group there! Very attentive and pleasant. Awesome food and much cheaper than I was expecting!!

This is a pretty wild experience. Such a huge restaurant and they make the waiters/waitresses wear old ghost looking outfits.

Got the all you care to eat chicken dinner.

EVERYTHING they brought out was great. The chicken wasn't the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life, but it was good.

Very good restaurant, the fried chicken is very good. The family style dinner is very filling, you won't leave this place hungry. Long waits at times, but definitely worth it. They have all the traditional German favorites. A place not to be missed when in Frankenmuth.

Tradition being passed down to my kids. We all love Zehnders and have for 5 decades. Food always always good. Service always impeccible. Chicken dinner family style...that's how we roll. Try to get here on an "off time' otherwise wait can be up to 2 hours and one member of the party MUST stay in line or you will not be seated. They don't play here... especially on Sundays. Make sure to check in at front desk. Sometimes there's a line to check in and then stand in line again. It's definitely worth the wait.

The food is fairly good, except the chicken. The chicken is awful. It's overcooked and dry. The coleslaw, noodles, noodle soup, cranberries, hard breads and cheese, and potatoes are all good quality and taste nice.

Another down tick is the consistency. I've been here far more times than I care to imagine, and the meats are never similar to the previous time I've been there. The beef was great last time, but terrible this time.

The last down tick are the bathrooms. Tons of people use these bathrooms, but that's no excuse for the state of the bathrooms. It keeps getting worse too. Today, I had to clean up a stall to use it. The main men's room had excessive water on the floor and feces all over the toilets. The south basement bathroom had a solid quarter inch of standing water/urine in the stalls. The cafe bathroom were in the best shape, only requiring light cleaning. It's my number one pet peeve, and honestly the number one sign a company cares about it's customers.

Mother's Day they gave free bread to moms.

Mother's Day they gave free bread to moms.
Father's Day dads had to buy a bread to get one free.

I asked two separate workers how many of the baked goods were made on site.
One of them said "Everything is made on site."
Another said "Nothing is made on site."
Still another said only the chocolates are made off site.
Which products are gluten free, vegan, egg free, dairy free?
Could not get a straight answer from anyone...
They literally looked at me like I was an alien...

Had reservations for two tables, traded for one big table. We all went with the buffett and were not disappointed. Server was Adam and he was great. Timely, accurate, and friendly with drinks, soup, and bread.

Went with 4 stars instead of 5 (really wanted a 4.5) due to the crowded tables. It took longer to get to the buffett than through the buffett. I felt like I bumped everyone on the row getting in and out.

Overall a great family experience.

This is a great place for local residents also. I love visiting there especially the Cowpath Room and when Nancy and Linda are serving. They are the best waitresses, especially Nancy. I love it there.

Beautiful!!! It helps God blessed us with the perfect day out. Check out the lovely photos!!! Lots of walking, incline and decline. I gotta get back there. I saw a lot, but missed a lot. Planning to get a room ahead of time will be in my plans for the next visit. There's just so much to see and experience. Bonners is on the right as soon as you enter town. That's the closest I'll get to a Christmas since I work for a shipping company. It was definitely a "Wonderland" not just for Winter.

The atmosphere is great, the portions are huge and good. The only bad thing is the length of the wait as they are always busy! If you reserve online using OpenTable you will get seated much faster but you don't have a choice of banquet rooms. That is fine if you are ok with eating in no specific location.
