Our family loves that this is one of our Christmas traditions. When our kids are on Christmas break we head up to Zender's every year for dinner and are never disappointed. After dinner it's a joy walking around with the family to see the stores and the lights.

Not as infamous as they claim. The chicken wasn't bad, but kinda lacked flavor and spice. The sides were mediocre at best. The staff really wasn't that friendly or helpful. We stood around looking very confused and we received no help. Not really worth the hype...

So much food and it is all you can eat. Got full from just the appetizers. Plain atmosphere, however, a place you need to try. Tourist attraction. Need reservations for anything after 5pm. We just stopped in and they seated us right away at 330pm.

Have ate here several times in the past and food was always great. However on Sept. 29th having not been here for two years our experience was less than satisfactory. Chicken was tough and stringy as well as cold. Taste was not the same as in the past. What has happened????
The other surprise was the server was lest than professional.
It was also the least busy we have seen in all our other visits. Could that be because the quality of the food and service has diminished.

Good food, family style. Always looking forward to visiting Michigan and making a stop here. Love the noodles and fried chicken. Definitely worth the wait for a table. They have a bakery downstairs that s really good too!

This place says till 9. It is absolutely ridiculous that you close the store an hour before restaurant. And why is it that the cow path usually always has old hags working. This place has went downhill a bit in the last 30+ years I have been coming.

17 yrs ago we went to Zehnder's for dinner. My husband raved about he great Prime Rib Dinner. On 8/6/19, we ate lunch there again. WOW what a disappointment. The Fried chicken was dry, mashed potatoes and gravy were not homemade. My husband got a cheeseburger and french fries. They were sub par at best. When asking the waitress why the potatoes were fake, she commented, "We have 9 restaurants, someone would have to work 24/7 just to peel the potatoes, Also we have used real potatoes to make the best instant ones". What, really??? Needless to say for a restaurant to get so big they forego quality for quantity, we will not return.

I always come here for their Chicken Phyllo. For the past few years it seems they have been off their mark with it. But last week I am happy to say that the Chef who made it this time nailed it beautifully. The Phyllo was light and flaky, the parmesan sauce was flavorful, and the chicken was tender. There were actually two on the plate but in my excitement, I ate one first and the picture came second, oops. :) The presentation of the Phyllo's were also an improvement.

We always eat at the Cowpath at Zehnder's. It's a small dining room off by itself. Must call ahead and reserve. Quieter, food always good. If you join birthday club get free dinner month of your b-day.

We were very excited to visit Zehnders. We were advised by friends to make reservations, which we did. 2 adults 2 children eating that night. We decided to try the Saturday night buffet since it was only a couple bucks more than the chicken dinner and you got more meat choices with the buffet. We were all very disappointed. The hype of the world famous chicken was a let down. The chicken was very bland. No taste, no crunch. I had to add salt to it. Popeyes serves tastier chicken. The mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry tart, stuffing and the breads and cheese they bring to the table were delicious. The top sirloin was too rare but tasty with the au jus. The scenery inside and outside were nice. Wouldn't be back.

Delicious! Been coming here for over 30 years. Their birthday club used to be better though when they served a piece of cake and got the drink free with meal but they now give a small sundae (used to be bigger after they switched from cake).. But despite that and the seemingly more crowded than the past atmosphere I still love it here and it is my go to place to enjoy birthdays and the holidays.

Family style dining, prices are good once you realize you get everything from your drinks to dessert for about $25 per person. You can ask for more of anything you want. If you go away hungry it's your fault...

When you're in Frankenmuth, you choose Zehnders or Bavarian Inn as your dining venue. I love Zehnders because of its amazing chicken and the All You Can Eat Buffet. While a bit pricey (lets face it, everything in Frankenmuth is pricey), its a must visit destination. The staff are so friendly and the food is amazing!

The ambience fit well with the Frankenmuth christmas theme but the prices were far beyond reasonable for the food on their menu. We respectfully left and found another local place with great food, prices and service. Sorry...would not recommend.

This place is for tourists that have money to spend and probably won't ever come back again anytime soon. Last time I was here, the chicken was so dry, it was like trying to inhale a biscuit without any water. I think they microwaved and served us yesterday's chicken. Not to mention, everything was extremely overpriced.

For world famous chicken, I was expecting to be more impressed. Hate to say it, but it needs to be a little saltier and crispier to be great fried chicken. Must be a locals thing, but our Grocer here in Indiana does it for less with more taste. Great service and meal otherwise.

I have to say the service here is what earned this place any stars at all. The waiter was quick and very very polite, baring the fact that we asked about wine and he had no clue and never came back with any answers for us.

My girlfriend and I each ordered one of the world famous chicken dinners, and I spent the entire meal trying to figure out what made them world famous. The food here was incredibly mediocre and the chicken had practically no flavor.

And after ordering, I have to say I felt bad after seeing the amount of food that came out. This is definitely a family restaurant, seeing how much food was wasted. The attached picture is only the food included in the entire! The first course and dessert aren t in this! It s a ton of food for two. Bottom line - I won t be back. You re better off getting a rotisserie chicken and stick the remaining 20$ back in your wallet.
