I ate at the cafe downstairs for Friday fish fry buffet; $19.95 plus $2.50 for coffee. The coating on the fish was too thick, crunchy and poor flavor. The fried shrimp was good, the stir fry station was good and the corn/crab chowder was good. The chowder was barely warm though. The vegetables were average and the desserts were poor. Coffee was good but also just warm. I got there at 3:10 pm shortly after opening. Too expensive for the quality, would not go back.

We've been here many times over the years and this wasn't our favorite for lunch, this trip. Food wasn't as good as usual and don't order perch, not cooked long enough. Chicken was dry. But we loved the cranberry jelly and garlic bread.

This has been part of my wife and my wish list so we took an anniversary trip to Frankenmuth
We both had a chicken dinner (because that is what they are supposedly renouned for)
Big mistake but I think any choice once we got in the door besides leaving was a big mistake
Chicken , dry and overcooked and terrible seasoning I don't think KFC is great but they are a 5 star restaurant compared to this establishment
Mash potatoes were straight out of a box
Butter noodles were drastically overcooked and drenched in butter
Green beans were frozen and then reheated and not good
Best thing served to us was the coleslaw and that I assume was straight from gordGo foods
And all for a bargain price of just over $50
Huge disappointment
I will never return

Great appetizers,food,waiters,and the service here is just omg it's amazing

Beautiful place to visit ... in the summer the flowers are everywhere.. in the winter Christmas music and horse rides year round.. a lot to do .. just a nice peaceful getaway

Use the Z Cafe in the basement, easier to access, same food.

Good family food. They can accommodate large parties on the fly, but don't be that guy walking in with a party of 10+ and no reservation.

The xmas town itself is very cute and chicken dinner goes with this saga. But if you're inly going there to get this fried chicken, it's just a blunt fired chicken, nothing fancier than any typical American buffet.

And 1 to 2 hrs wait for food on Sundays is NOT worth, absolutely.

Horrible service, waitress was terrible. Wish we would of went to Bavarian Inn instead.

Delicious all you can eat fried chicken family style dinner. Alex was our waiter and he took good care of us all.

The food was awesome and plentiful, the waitress was very nice and the food came out in prompt time didn't wait long for anything and even though they we're super busy the wait to be seated wasn't long at all. Love the atmosphere as well and how everyone worked together!! Definitely a must do dining experience while visiting Frankenmuth!!

We come here once a year for a company banquet, and they do an excellent job. To feed so many people so quickly is quite a feat. The chicken is a little bland in my opinion, which is why I only gave four stars, but the mashed potatoes were delicious, as well as everything else we were offered.

You can't beat Zehnders.

Expensive,. Meal is $18 and all carbs except for coleslaw, and breaded chicken. Service wasn't great. Server was actually rude.wont go back.

Very busy, crowded. Great service & friendly staff. Great family night & food.

Food was great. Kelli and Bree are awesome wait a staff but so disappointed watching them running their legs off while 3 bartenders stood and talked. We were there for an hour and a half and saw one of the bartenders get 1 beer for one of the girls. The manager (?) Came out and I thought he'd say something.. he stood and talked too. Really disappointed!

Pricey, bland... service was good, sausage was alright. Schnitzel and fried chicken had very little flavor. Bavarian Inn across the street is a better meal and value, imo.

Frankenmuth is a real pretty town. Zehnder's and all the other little gift shops are awesome. Also very good food. So many things to see and buy. Loved it!!!

While Zehnders is always very busy, our server (Edward) never made us feel like an afterthought. He was warm, friendly, attentive, and on point with anticipating or needs. I wish that I could request him as a server every time we visited!

Its tradition, been going ever since I was a little girl and always spend my birthday at Zenders and then shopping...love love

Worst food ever! The chicken had absolutely no seasoning whatsoever and mashed potatoes tasted like right out of a box. I tried putting salt on them but didn t help AT all, dressing wash as bad as potatoes but darn close. Might be the worst chicken dinner i have ever ate. KFC is way better sadly

We were there yesterday and will not return. The wait to be seated was long but did not bother us, however our waitress made the meal a disappointment. We waited quit awhile between the soup and breads until the chicken arrived. At that point I had no water and requested a refill, as well as the additional meat we had ordered for someone who didn t eat chicken. We waited about 15 minutes until she checked on us again and we reminded her we were waiting for schnitzel and water. Other tables that were seated after us, we re finished and left before we had our main course. Our whole table of 5 got the family style meal so it wasn t a hard order. Our meal (not including the wait to be seated) took over 2 hours, we were there for 3 hours total. Had I realized we would have lost a large portion of our day for lunch, we would have eaten elsewhere. The table of 3 next to us was on the same boat and we all commiserated that the waitress really ruined the meal.

Amazing. The buffet was the best around. Food was very good, servers were very friendly and helpful, and fast seating if you had a reservation's. It will be your family Christmas dinner from now on

Came here a few times as a kid, now vacationing in Michigan with my family, I wanted them to see it. Everyone enjoyed the experience- great food, friendly waitress and a beautiful setting in Frankenmuth. So glad we went!

Awesome best service out of any restaurant I've been to, and I've been to 48 states. I believe her name was Lynette, ask for her she was the best I've had.

To all those negative comments out there, I don't get it! The chicken was delicious, the sausages were amazing, as was the schnitzel. The potatoes were definitely NOT instant! All the other dishes that come with the dinner were very good. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. And no where I know of can you get a dinner of this quality for this price!

Good hearty meal. A little pricey for the whole family, but good nevertheless.

I was very disappointed by the service. We ended up having 3 people come to our table and still they forgot the coleslaw and handed it to us on the way out. The chicken was not as good as I remember years ago. I felt it had shake and bake on it. Came from ut to my home state ut with family member in the state going to dinner

Pretty exspensive with not much choices fof sides. You get what the veggie of tge day (brusssl sprouts and carrots). My entree said fingerling potatoes and only got 4 small potato pieces. The roasted chicken was good but not worth $26!!!. We will try the Barvarian Inn or Thr Frankenmuth Brewery next time!!

It kind of smells like a nursing home and the chicken is over rated. Everything was super bland, and the chicken was a bit dry. Our waitress was very nice and super helpful though. Next time we find ourselves in Frankenmuth I think we'll check out the Bavarian Inn across the street instead.

Wonderful building with great interior design and architecture.

To be honest the 5 star is for the waiter Bryce who was great and the food well it was ok. Expected Deep fried country chicken but it was not. Stuffing was like a jello and not sure but the potatoes think we're instant , at least tasted like it. The Coleslaw was best part and the liver pate was pretty good. But Bryce the waiter was pretty cool and actually if it wasn't for him we probably would have not enjoyed period.
