Amazing view of half dome. Very easy to access via road (approximately 30min from the valley floor) but a bit crowded.
Yosemite is a beautiful place to visit. We stayed there for roughly 1 1/2 days and enjoyed ourselves. We end up staying at the Yosemite valley lodge. Our room looked directly at Yosemite Falls. The staff was incredibly friendly.
Worth the drive. Start here to get the full overview of the valley. The views are amazing. My fourth visit to Yosemite and only now I went for this gem!
One of the most beautiful viewpoints in Yosemite Park.
Wonderful scenery Grand view of sunset and sunrise
Free parking
Restroom
Shutter service available
Yellowstone is great but I would never go there again on 4th of July weekend. It gets supercrowded and crazy.
A place you have to see when you are at Yosemite. From here you'll have very good views of all the mountain ranges in the park, the waterfall , the valley below . The drive up to the top is also very scenic.
Beautiful view of the Park at the end of a winding road. Many people and not enough parking at the end of September. The view of the Half Dome is really worth coming here.
The views of Half Dome and Yosemite are amazing. Parking is difficult so get there early.
One of the most magnificent, iconic views in all of Yosemite! Very much a "not to be missed" place to visit. We took an early bus up to Glacier Point from Yosemite Lodge, and after enjoying the point, hiked the 4 mile trail (actually almost 5 miles) the 3,200' back down to the valley, being rewarded with spectacular valley views at every turn on the way!
Word of advice: get there very, very early!!
One road in n out, long drive to get there but well worth it the amazing views! We visited in the summer, 2019, and knowing the crowd will be bad were on the road at dawn n reached there by 7am. Traffic was good, there were cars ahead of us but no jams and plenty of parking spaces. We spent an hour taking in the amazing sights, lots of great photo opportunities. On our way out the parking lots were full, and cars were queued up for 4 miles waiting to get in.
An incredibly beautiful panoramic view that (unfortunately) cannot even come close to being reproduced in photos. When I was up I was just amazed. God is an artist! Absolute must if you are in the park. Even if the journey takes a while and the crowds are there.
This is a bit of a drive up the mountain but very worth the drive! It is so beautiful! You are able to see many points of Yosemite from there! A great spot to take pictures and enjoy an ice cream from the shop!
Truly amazing. One of the most beautiful places in the world.
Just another proof for God's existence and the amazing things that He made for our pleasure!
Do not leave Yosemite without visiting this place..I personally prefer the vista point before glacier point..you get panaromic views of the entire valley..yes, entire yosemite valley!
I loved our visit here today! It just reminds me how small i am and how majestic or world and God is! Will be back very soon!!
Fantastic view. The best way to hike on the four Mile Trail.
Ranger Dave is a great narrator for explaining the history of Yosemite Valley and the stars in the night sky.
The best valley view one can witness. It still amazes me that only 1/4th of Yosemite is visible from that vantage point. Just makes you realize how enormous the national park is
Such an amazing place, the view from this location looking down the entire Yosemite Valley is mesmerizing.
Amazing view!
If you like Yosemite this is a place where you have to go.
Being above the Yosemite Valley looking down into it is amazing.
Ok, if all you are doing is driving up for a few snaps, well don't think twice, just do it. I was here in both the AM and PM and the views are spectacular (sun is better for pics in the PM).
A long drive up but one of the absolutely best views! Breathtaking (and a bit scary) - you just have to go up here. Parking might be a hassle if you go during the day, so afternoon might be better.
Best view of the valley and half dome at sunrise. Definitely something everyone should see once in their lifetime.
Stunning views, car park is very busy get there early! Worth the visit.
A great vantage point with a perfect view of the Half Dome and the waterfalls. The photo opportunity :) ... and you can drive with your own car to the View Point.
Magnificent views of Yosemite valley. Must see in Yosemite. The point may be closed due to weather conditions - it's best to check if it's open on park website.
Amazing views. One of must visits at Yosemite. The drive was good. It has several view points in between which should not be missed. There isnt lot of food options once you reach the point. The weather is good in summer. The mountain ranges, Yosemite falls, royal arches and half dome every part of the national forest is covered in this view point.
Hiked up 4 mi. tr. to Glacier Point (Wonderful!). Milled about about with the many other visitors, gawking at Half Dome and the various sites (Amazing). Noticed a concentration of bees, and then the small bee hive in a shrub just over the low stone wall towards Half Dome. Envisioning somebody (a child) getting stung, I thought I'd kindly mention this to the young park ranger standing in the area (oops!). You would have thought I Just kicked his (little power-tripping punk about half my age) dog. It's like anybody with a uniform today thinks they are supposed to be a full-blown idiot! at all times. I mean this was a park ranger at Yosemite simply having somebody mention (helping) that their was a legitimate hazard and he got very confrontational and aggressive barking a bunch of crap at me and that he "didn't believe me!" I'm like Woe!! I just shrugged whatever, reiterated what I said and walked away from this unrepectable idiot. Nowadays even the county dog catcher wants to bow up on you and get nasty! Good Grief!!! NOTE TO ALL UNIFORMED GOVERNMENT FUNCTIONARIES: GET A GRIP! Wouldya?
An amazing place with incredible views of Yosemite Valley.
Great views that can be reached in a car. Plenty of parking as well.
Yosemite must go to attractions
The view from the observation deck is really shocking.
It s worth driving to experience
Best view in Yosemite, hands down! Safe for whole family! They also have a market and store at the top with parking and restrooms.
The best view in Yosemite ..
Go early from here. You have to wait to park from lunch. Come in ..
Grandiose view! Fantastic landscape! Unfortunately way too many tourists ... ^^
It's breathtakingly beautiful. It's a different perspective looking at Yosemite from above. It's a must-see. Impressive!!!
Absolutely breathtaking! Took an all day bus tour with Discover Yosemite, and it was an amazing trip! Highly recommend!
Best place to see the Yosemite. Valley is for people who want to walk and trek, and glacier point is for folks who want to see and let the nature sink in. See the whole Yosemite valley in it's full majesty and feel the real size of the half dome.
The road takes you all the way up. Try to get up there early morning, or else waste time waiting for parking availability. A little time waited is also worth it btw :)
Absolutely speechless. It's like it's God's abode. So serene so calm.
Amazing views for sunrise and sunset, accessible by a car. Parking and restroom available. Restroom was terrible though.
Wow! Just wow! The view of half dome is just spectacular from this point. This is one sight you should not miss!
No glaciers. Just tourists. Parking is ridiculous.
Nice spot to relax and if you are a person who likes trekking then this spot is definitely for you
You have to drive an extra one hour to visit this spot in the valley but it s worth it. Make sure you goto this place first while visiting Yosemite. The entire valley can be seem from here. The canteen/store is not functional here.
Glacier Point is about 1 hour away from the Yosemite Valley. It has a spectacular view and a nice place to relax.
View:
You can see the whole valley. The Nevada and Vernal falls can be seen at Glacier point. They do have 2 trails that can can different view, but you will need to go early in the morning. The area is usually very sunny, so bring a hat and some shades.
Food:
They serve food at their store. It's mostly the typical American food. Everybody goes here for the ice cream and it is reasonably price.
Store:
A lot of merchandise available for purchase. You can get shorts, stickers, mugs, clothes, and other souviners.
Parking:
You will need to head there early for parking. After 11am, it's nearly impossible to find parking.
Gorgeous! Great little shop/visitor center up there too with great and friendly service
Very nice viewpoint. The entire northern valley can be seen. In addition, a place for souvenirs and food. If you do the walk it is somewhat daunting to see so many people who did not have to make the same effort. There is also a way to this place.
Amazing view. Take shuttle from yosemite village or badgers ski resort parking for great views.
Formation of stone due to Glacier makes the
Difference.
The views , the views, it's why u come and there breathtaking
One of the most popular sights in Yosemite, Glacier Point is well equipped with a large carpark, facilities etc. It's a short stroll for a few mins and you are presented with a wonderful view and phototaking opportunities.
Beautiful.
Also known for sunset sights.
You'll not be able to spend enough time enjoying the scenery.
A nice view that everyone should have seen. Definitely worth a visit.
From Glacier Point one can look over Yosemite Valley to Half Dome. Fantastic view.
Incredible views of Yosemite Valley plus plenty of space to roam around
