The Piece Hall is the new centre of Halifax. You will find a collection of bars, shops, eateries, entertainment venues, and monthly events appearing in the centre. The staff who look after the grounds are very nice and look after the area well.

This has always been one of my favourite places and how I have missed it whilst it has been closed! It is even more amazing now it has reopened and it is just a great place to hang out and browse some unique businesses that you won't find on any other boring high street! Oh the gin bar is fab too!

This was my first visit to the Piece Hall for a quick evening meeting and the place really surprised me. I didn't even know it existed before...just wish I had my proper camera! I can't wait to come back in the day and check it out with the shops open too, really nice surprise and picturesque. Dare I say it reminds me of Italy....ERM...although I've never been but from the pics it does

Very interesting place to visit, with it's intriguing architecture and history. BUT, and it's a big but, and aware that alternatives are limited for a listed building - the steps in the centre are a hazard for those of limited vision and mobility as they are not marked and there no rails.

Really great space now it has been rejuvenated. Lots of nice shops, eateries, drinks and interesting events going on year round. Also has some galleries and museum-style display areas which are worth a look.

Excellent venue for a gig, superb security, just need to remortgage for each visit to the bar! Loved everything about "a beautiful day out" though last 2 visits to the portaloos not so good..... Can't praise the staff and the band's enough, 10* not 5!!!

Love visiting this magnificent listed building, it has retransformed the town of Halifax since it reopened its doors to a new look and you can spend hours browsing in the shops and there is a great range of eateries and cafe bars too.

Fabulous, historical building that was recently restored and opened. Still a lot of empty units. Independent traders offering unique items for sale. Definitely worth a look. Take your camera.

Truly a marvel of Georgian architecture on a sunny day you could be on a Venetian piazza. Set in the Calder valley the boutique craft shops are a delight. You could easily combine with Shibden Hall of Gentleman Jack fame. Would appeal to history lovers and shoppers.

We used to visit here many years ago when it was very shabby and run down, although even then it had a good selection of independent shops and businesses. What a difference now! The whole place has been completely refurbished and renovated to an extremely high standard. There are lots of shops and places to eat and drink. The only downside for me is that the prices seem very high on most things. It's worth visiting for the architecture alone though. The sweeping balconies, accessed by lift or steps at various places around the perimeter, provide lovely elevated views of the surrounding hills and trees. One can imagine the bustling activity of the cloth trade in years gone by. Halifax itself has some wonderful buildings too. A lovely old town, with the Piece Hall as the jewel in it's crown.

I was a little dissapointed given the hype that was given to the refurbishment. The central area is massively improved. There seems to be about as many empty shops as there ever was.
The refurbishment doesn't seem to have done much about parts of the structure. Some of the sandstone flooring appears to have been filled in with mortar, which is now lifting. Some parts of the floor are still so badly worn or broken that they rely on hazard marker tape to warn people. Not what one would expect from a newly refurbished building.
