It's a really beautiful building but when we visit...
It's a really beautiful building but when we visited there just weren't enough shops. Maybe once it gets busier it will be much better.

Such a wonderful place with some really beautiful little shops all under cover
Fantastic building. Full of small independent traders.
Wow, what a place well worth a visit for a day out. Shop, bars restaurants. Visit the museum for an insight into the history of the place. Well worth a trip.
Brilliant place to shop, eat & drink- especially the Trading Rooms at Piece Hall
Restoration somewhat unsympathetic and the building has lost it's internal perspective with the new grey raised flat floor. When sunny the glare from the floor is unsettling, no greenness now and no longer a place for a quiet sit-down. The new entrances through the walls of the building have damaged it's historical and architectural significance.
A number of bars/cafes/restaurants but all expensive by local standards and too many sadly tainted by loud bass heavy contemporary music.
And now we have piped music in the Piece Hall - can't we just have natural ambience, please!
Some good collectors shops worth visiting.
Absolutely the best thing about Halifax by far, called in here to have our lunch whilst having a day at Eureka. Straight of the train into Eureka nextdoor, then piece hall is right across the road. It's the first time we have been after recently reopening and what a fantastic historical place it is, and given a new lease of life. It was like being in Rome (including the weather) which is unusual I have to say. It certainly wowed me and my family anyway, buzzing with life. Thumbs up from us
Hopefully lots more to come, didn't enjoy the visit to much myself as not a great deal there, saying that only just opened fully
Much better since the renovation giving a feel of a European square, such as in Milan or Venice. I say square, much more like a Piazza. A beautiful place with great shops and vendors. A bit pricey, but you can expect that from a place of this quality.
Went to the Christmas market here and it started snowing while we were there which made it feel even more festive. Nice selection of stalls and shops. Good day out!
This is a beautiful place to visit , lots of space for kids to run around , and lovely little shops and eateries
Just amazing this place. Im so proud to be from Halifax now that we have this. Fab gigs there, lovely shops. Kids love to play there. Lovely atmosphere.
Great to visit the Piece Hall today; joined history tour of site which was really interesting (thank you Pamela) such impressive architecture and sympathetically restored too. Variety of quality shops and restaurants; delicious lunch at Elder. We ll definitely be visiting the Piece Hall again.
I went to the esceporiom and loved every minute of it
Its a nice place to visit, unhurried, unique shops and then a little trip into halifax itself. Halifax has a good indoor market, far better than my home town of huddersfield. Worth a trip
If you find yourself with time on your hands this historical place is worth a visit. Plenty of artisan shops where you can buy whot you didn't think you needed along with good coffee and food.
Relaxed at Gin Lane for an evening drink...but it was SPOILT with youngsters x 8 - 10 of them skateboarding. This abuse is going to be off putting using this area if its not monitored better. PLEASE do this sooner rather than later.
Love visiting The Piece Hall. Even better on a warm summers evening with all the water features lit up and a cold G&T in your hand
Fantastic archtecture with some interesting shops and bars.
Great food. Good choice of shops and good entertainment.
Super spot, lazy People watching, great place for coffee and ice-cream
First time in Halifax. It was a shame it was closed due to a concert
A great place to pick up a gift, or meet friends day and night.
Impressive building, pity tour guide didn't turn up!
Good selection of shops to browse. Check out the book shop on the bottom floor
There is a fantastic atmosphere and lots of small interesting shops. It once was the world's trading place for wool and fabric.
Really like the quirkieness of this place, need to expand the cafe as its so awesome but so busy
Very interesting however not enough of the units are occupied yet
Looking fabulous and the selection of new shops are brilliant can't wait till all units are filled.
Lovely building
Lots of interesting places especially the library and tower.
So glad the deli has finally reopened. I've missed their coffee but more importantly I've missed the friendly staff. Welcome back guys.
Will be much better when it is finished and filled with open shops.
Lots of cute shops, unfortunately some of these are still closed because of corona virus
Not much to do but very nice place to have s picnic
Great place to spend the day looking at the independent shops and having a drink in one of the bars
Lived in Halifax all my life ..this is a lovely place to be and a natural sun trap
First time I have been and the upgrade has been done very well. Lovely bars and shops.
The restoration and history of the place is wonderful
Although it's been refurbished it still lacks shops only 40 percent are occupied, hopefully this will improve.
Really interesting place to visit with different boutique shops. Lovely cafes and bars, with lovely views of the historic building
Beautiful venue- give it 12 months when the units will all be full and I will return
To be fair shops closed when we got there. But looks like lots of unique ones.
Lovely place to visit ....just needs more eateries to rate 5 stars
Needs more retail outlets so support the Hall to encourage more retailers to move in. Catch 22
A must in Halifax, it's like nothing else anywhere, far better than the old Covent Garden in London.
All that money!? It looks really great but the choice and lack of retail unit's is extremely disappointing.
Lovely old buildings sympathetically restored with lots of interesting shops.
Went to look at the new renovated piece hall, row after row of empty units, part decorated doorways, why has it opened yet. wont be going back for a long time, wasted trip. nothing to see yet.
Since the change the piece hall is so much cleaner nicer to look at there's plenty of shops to look around
Love how the Peace Hall has been renovated keeping this historic building alive well worth a visit
A lovely place to enjoy the sun. Near to library and train station
Amazing architecture and also loads of shops and generally good atmosphere. Always something going on
A wonderful open space and they really have made an effort with seating areas and shallow waters and streams for the kids to paddle in safely. There is a good selection of pubs/eateries around the outside along with small independent shops and a small free gallery
It was better when it had a proper market and proper shops.
Worth all the millions of pounds spent in its restoration.
Not enough of the shops filled to say that the place was shut long enough to find someone or something for the units, what's there is nice but it needs more
