Restoration somewhat unsympathetic and the building has lost it's internal perspective with the new grey raised flat floor. When sunny the glare from the floor is unsettling, no greenness now and no longer a place for a quiet sit-down. The new entrances through the walls of the building have damaged it's historical and architectural significance. A number of bars/cafes/restaurants but all expensive by local standards and too many sadly tainted by loud bass heavy contemporary music. And now we have piped music in the Piece Hall - can't we just have natural ambience, please! Some good collectors shops worth visiting.

Absolutely the best thing about Halifax by far, called in here to have our lunch whilst having a day at Eureka. Straight of the train into Eureka nextdoor, then piece hall is right across the road. It's the first time we have been after recently reopening and what a fantastic historical place it is, and given a new lease of life. It was like being in Rome (including the weather) which is unusual I have to say. It certainly wowed me and my family anyway, buzzing with life. Thumbs up from us

Much better since the renovation giving a feel of a European square, such as in Milan or Venice. I say square, much more like a Piazza. A beautiful place with great shops and vendors. A bit pricey, but you can expect that from a place of this quality.

Great to visit the Piece Hall today; joined history tour of site which was really interesting (thank you Pamela) such impressive architecture and sympathetically restored too. Variety of quality shops and restaurants; delicious lunch at Elder. We ll definitely be visiting the Piece Hall again.

Its a nice place to visit, unhurried, unique shops and then a little trip into halifax itself. Halifax has a good indoor market, far better than my home town of huddersfield. Worth a trip

If you find yourself with time on your hands this historical place is worth a visit. Plenty of artisan shops where you can buy whot you didn't think you needed along with good coffee and food.

Relaxed at Gin Lane for an evening drink...but it was SPOILT with youngsters x 8 - 10 of them skateboarding. This abuse is going to be off putting using this area if its not monitored better. PLEASE do this sooner rather than later.

Went to look at the new renovated piece hall, row after row of empty units, part decorated doorways, why has it opened yet. wont be going back for a long time, wasted trip. nothing to see yet.

A wonderful open space and they really have made an effort with seating areas and shallow waters and streams for the kids to paddle in safely. There is a good selection of pubs/eateries around the outside along with small independent shops and a small free gallery
