Lovely attractive open area within nicely restored buildings
Beautiful place, it's a traditional courtyard setting with an amazing food stall set up for special events. #thedosa New Year's eve event every year... #bythegoodfoodguys
Historic cloth hall, good place to sit and watch the world
I remember visiting the Piece Hall over 40 years ago. I saw it as a great market then, only to become so run down. Now it's an amazing place to visit. Lots of lovely shops, cafes and places to eat. It's even got its own Gin Bar.
Great have been going there since I was a child ,helping out at a cafe .last visit we partook a drink in the gin Lane.
Great job with the refurbishment. Lots of shops. But I am not into shopping
Love this place to go chill out and check out all the amazing shops. Can't wait to see it all lit up at Christmas
Very festive lots of unique shops with high quality gifts food great
Lovely place to spend a couple of hours. Nice places to eat
Wonderfully refurbished landmark. Lovely warm Sunday afternoon listening to good music and talented singers. A myriad of shops, cafes and bars on three levels. Even a small water feature to keep the young ones entertained. Well worth a visit.
Very nice place, great little shops with super super friendly staff.
Really nice historical building, recently renovated. Several art galleries, some small shops, and a couple of cafes. Was very busy on the opening day but may be less so later on.
Not many shops open yet but I think they're hoping to have all three floors full eventually.
Great atmosphere inow since being refurbished, new bars and restaurants to open shortly. Piece hall links into the industrial museum and library .
Good place to visit better than the city centre !!
Some cool shops too overpriced though which is the norm with places like this.
Sweet shop is great and the Christmas shop is cool as well.
Very popular place, always something happening here. Great little shops and bars.
Great place that the local council have screwed over. Worth a visit but could should have Neen so much more.
Wonderful enclosed courtyard with lots of interesting gift shops, eateries and a super vegan shop.
It was a bit quiet on Monday but still an interesting place to visit.
Stunning architecture. Great shopping and eating experience.
Lovely place loads of quaint little shops and plenty to eat and drink
Beautiful building, lovely cafe, completely lacking in shops. Shame. The shops are all very similar. No studio / workshop craft or traditional craft businesses
Great historic place to visit lovely quirky shops and nice restaurants. Must visit gin lane
Empty no stalls expected Christmas shopping poor do all together disappointed poor
Architecturally this is an impressive, historic and unique edifice. It's just such a shame that so many units are empty, some of those that are filled are uninspiring and the courtyard space isn't better used. It's beautifully lit at night and if you can get there at the right time of year and see it at dusk before it's locked it looks incredible. I'd like to see more here and more of the local events like the continental food market move into this space in future though. Halifax has a great asset but it's being undervalued.
Love this place. Very impressive. Would love to see it lit up for Christmas.
Great historical cloth hall. Gaining ground on a revitalised piece of Halifax history. Many a visit to this great historical building when shopping with family many many years ago. I remember it well for its markets, many a bargain to be had and bartered for. It reminds me so much of Del Boy From 'Only Fools and Horses when he ran his market stall...
Lots of new businesses now and a great place steeped in rich history. Well worth a visit
Stunning idyllic location a tranquil place for any photographer and family to enjoy a very scenic place
The restoration had been sympathetically done, adding beauty to an already stunning building. It is now accessible to all, links with both Square chapel and the library. All in all a vibrant, coal, living historical asset to Halifax and the North.
Covid conscious environment with a lot of boutique type stores and refreshments.
Lovely day out with lots of good shops and cafes plus lots going on for the kids. Really nicely refurbished and looking forward to going again.
A unique historical place that has something for everyone..Very flat so good for elderly and infirm
Superb architectural gem a great day for families and couples.
Lovely little shops & caffes and a Fabulous Gin Shop and Gin Bar
It's very clean and tidy but you can't tell which shop is which or what it sells without going in because of some ancient law about advertising
Fantastic water cascading wonderful site to visit outstanding
Good place to visit & always something going on. Something for everyone. Great place for tourists
Great shops. Lovely to see it back working again. Loos excellent
The piece hall is excellent I cannot fault it. A good half day was had by our bus trip. The cafe we was in was brilliant. We were in the deli which only did like andwuchrs cakes etc but they were made to order and very.nice I also had a couple of glasses of wine there excellent!!!! I would definitely return and would love to see what it is like at Xmas. A super trip. Anne walker
Visited today for the first time since it reopened and we were disappointed. Most of the units are empty and there's no where family friendly to eat (so we went to sainsburys cafe and had a lovely lunch instead). I've thought in all of the photos I've seen that the new granite floor looks cold and doesn't match the warm Yorkshire stone of the original building and sadly it looks just as bad in real life (my husband says it would be too expensive otherwise, but I still think it's a shame). I know it's early days and there are plans for more shops etc but it's put us off going back which is a shame. It's such a beautiful, unique building (which is why I've given two stars, not just one) but unfortunately the renovation hasn't done it justice :(
Crackin. What a well presented bit of historical culture. Listed yet still pull of present purpose. Check it out
Interesting collection of independent shops and bars within the three floors. It is almost if an Italian piazza has just landed in Halifax just a shame it does not have the Italian weather to go with it. Worth going to Halifax just to see this in all its incongruity compared to the surrounding town. To be fair to Hfx the town is trying and it is not a wasteland that so many town centres are these days.
Went to see the Albesila luminarium sculpture. The Piece Hall was a great setting for it. Good to see it full and thriving.
Well worth a visit especially now it's reopened after the revamp
Plenty to look at and such a chilled out place to sit and watch the world go by.
Beautiful example of a cloth hall in Halifax,a piece of living history. If you visit Yorkshire don't miss this, superb !
Absolutely brilliant day at the Piece Hall well worth a family visit.
Great place glad we still have the piece hall please bigger x mas market there would pull in the people
Definitely worth another visit quite interesting architecture.
Lots of lovely individual shops and restaurants. Steeped in history.
The place looks lovely now it's been renovated, busy with people having a look and lunching on all the seating and steps it has now. The water feature is great and kids were paddling up and down it.
Gorgeous place to sit at night and lovely boutique shops during the day.
Still some empty shops but one of the last places to find unique little shops, no big chains here.
My kids love coming here to play in the lifts and in the water features. Haha
Recently renovated and reopened. Lots of lovely little craft and bespoke fashion shops. There's usually some event going on in the center of the square. Try the gin bar which has an extensive menu.
Nice building but wasn't as many shops as we imagined
Great resurrection! Wonderful piece of architectural history
A lovely experience, enjoyed visiting the shops ,they had interesting products. I brought some pretty earrings
Brilliant staff good place for a family day out well worth every penny spent on it .
Nice refurbishment of the main square, but could have been more faithful to the original.
Very good selection & variety of the sales venues available, but could have a notice board guide for the location's & main items that they specialise in.
Beautiful location that welcomes fresh independent businesses. Family friendly and hygienic. Great place to relax and for the kids to play around. Also some very nice shops.
