This is now an amazing place to visit. Gone are the tatty old shops and the anachronistic cobbles installed in the 1970s... in their place are an ever-increasing range of interesting shops, galleries and places to eat and drink around one of the most magnificent town squares in the country. Next door is the Square Chapel Arts Centre, the new library and Industrial Museum and very close is the Eureka children's museum. A good day out.

Spent an enjoyable morning looking round the refurbished Piece Hall. There's a small selection of gift shops, coffee shops and exhibitions. Special mention to Loafers Vinyl and Coffee. Currently there are many empty units but hopefully More

Got here on a sunny day and it is very striking. Had lunch in the Elder overlooking the courtyard. Excellent artisan British charcuterie and cheeseboard and good house wine and attentive staff.

Wonderful Italianate square in Halifax in West Yorkshire - a tremendous refurbishment with interesting shops on all four sides on all three levels. There is a specialty soap shop, gin shop, and an Indian bric-a-brac shop. There are cafes on the ground level and not a fast food place in sight.

After being renovated, the place looks amazing. The lack of new shops however is a bit of a let down as you can walk around and see only a handful. I expect once more shops are setup here then it will be far more busy. That said, the fact that all of these businesses are locally owned and independent really keeps with the ideals of the Peace Hall.

Went today middle of piece hall was fenced off with 4 or 5 fast food vans in mile n two ice cream vans. So we decided to walk in try some food to be stopped and told if we wanted to go in fenced area to buy a ice cream we would have to pay 3 pound each .I turned round and left .it's terrible the piece hall now hate the new look interior and how much it cost.had a silly reply from piece hall saying 3 pound each to walk in to a compound to get two ice creams for children is fare!.there were a few eating places but to have to pay to go in to pay again is a rip off big time .c.mon normal people can't afford these charges .don't turn this place in to a place were people with families can't afford to get in to.yes have the chow down but take away entrance charges it's a con.

Has several quant shops, public toilets and is regularly used as a live music venue as well as other shows. After being closed down for many years for renovations it has been improved so much!

Nice grade listed building here in Halifax West Yorkshire dating back to the 1700's. With plenty to do, lots of different shops and stores to peruse. Even artistic exhibitions on display! Small fountains for the kids to paddle in the summer and plenty of seating areas.

Very smart and many interesting shops. With live music, as today, it really makes it live. I only dropped it one star because less than half the premises are open; it will be better with more shops cafes and restaurants.

The refurbishment work looks amazing! A lovely venue with already quite a few shops open and more to come before Christmas. The open spaces in the centre are designed with areas to sit, and spaces for events etc.
