A great, friendly, diverse shopping experience in as different an environment as you can imagine - for those who normally make a bee line to the shopping mall I'd recommend a detour to Halifax

Cost too much to we ratepayers .
Paving unsuitable .
Shops pretentious and expensive , not useful , just "browsable" for tourists , not local community .

Lovely historic building in the centre of Halifax. The building has been restored and has lots of specialist shops including antiques, art, jewellery, toys etc. There are also coffee shops & food outlets. Recommended for a visit.

Our first visit to the Piece Hall was overwhelming as we did not expect to see such an awesome area in the middle of Halifax, and with such a wealth of different kinds of retail outlets. A jaw-dropping experience.

Had a lovely half day at Halifax piece hall, some very interesting individual shops in the square. Quite good for walking around, though maybe difficult if you in a wheelchair, getting into shops.

A beautiful place to see during this strange times. Christmas spirit is in the square. We feel safe as they observe covid measures. You only wear mask if you go inside enclosed shops. The jewel of Halifax.

Such a wonderful place now its been fixed up. Lots of planned activities to book on the website, Lots of bespoke quirky shops but most importantly.... the little water feature keeps my daughter entertained for hours!

Amazing to see the Piece Hall open again and an amazing transformation into a modern, Italian style square! Shops, cafes, ice cream, restaurants, history exhibition, art galleries with more planned to open over the next few months. Visited on 3 occasions since it re-opened - well worth a visit!

The building is fascinating, beautiful and rejuvenated. We spent a couple of hours there exploring, shopping, eating and photographing. It's a credit to Halifax, a national treasure and, as we witnessed, a place to be enjoyed by everyone from toddlers to pensioners.

great

Lovely historic tourist attraction with an array of great independent shops to look around. Even nicer since the multi million pound renovation which adjoined it onto the library and u can now access it from the bottom of town near the train station so it's definitely easier for tourists to discover it and have access to. It's a lovely place to come and sit on a hot summer day as the piece hall is now adorned with running water features that kids r allowed to splash around in and cool down!! Oh and there's a ton of events taking place there too, such as live music, and arts and crafts stalls etc...

Nicely refurbished listed building with some interesting shops, though a lot of the premises are still empty and the whole building is rather stark, with minimal signage, little colour, and no sense of individualism. Too sanitised for my liking, perhaps I should have sampled more than one of the offerings in the well stocked gin bar !! Good for a sunny day out . .

Nice

Wonderful to see the Piece Hall refurbished and nice assortment of independent shops. The Christmas Market and the hygge tepee was very atmospheric especially as it became dark and it started to snow.
