An historic part of Halifax but I can remember it years ago when it had a busy market day

Beautifully restored with some lovely cafe/bars wonderful and interesting boutique shops along with an enjoyable square to sit and watch the day slip by

If the Piece Hall was in somewhere like Italy, the world would know about it..the only cloth hall left in the north. Great attraction for Halifax

Beautiful spot to visit with shops, cafes, restaurants and more. Don't forget to check out the library and pay a visit on the inside to see how the steeple was integrated into the modern building.

What a beautiful. Has a some lovely shops to look around. Well worth the visit, especially now because of the Christmas Market.

Great place to visit and nice choice of shops, but they know how to charge!!

We visited here on Sunday and we had a really lovely time. There are lots of little restaurants and shops around the edge that are all worth a visit including a sweet shop, chocolate shop, gin shop, soap shop, ice cream parlour and many more. If you get a nice day, its nice to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. They also now have hand sanitiser at the entrances and ask that everyone wears face masks in shops if possible.

Who would have thought Halifax had something like this at its heart.

Two good bars, cafes, plus a theatre with real ales.. And posh shops.

Lovely family friendly open space with a rich history and modern shops.

Good location for shopping or for a quick coffee or a pint.

Nice place to visit, lots of small independent shops as well.

Great place to meet friends and family for drinks, food shopping and entertainment xxx

It has such unique shops, not run of the mill. Lovely cafes and restaurants with delicious food. And it's all there in one place.

The steep slopes are awful to get up or to come back down. It is a beautiful place however.

A beautiful listed building with some unusual shops, well worth a visit

This was the highlight of our visit to Halifax (for the kids there was Eureka) across the road.

The architecture and square layout, closed off no cars so kids can play some great bars, shops, unique independent shops.

Chatted to some lovely people.

Visited the relaunch of the Piece Hall today had a fab time my grandchildren loved playing in the water feechers. We also joined in all the activities that were put on around the hall made some lovely keepsakes to take home.Will be goin back again.

Great place to visit,,also, easy access to the library which has fascinating artifacts on show , not forgetting the museum .

Pristine, and spacious with lovely water feature and many small business outlets.

What a fantastic place. Brilliant architecture and history. Market square is awesome. Pay it a visit and see for yourself

Rather dull. No hanging baskets. No buskers. Not enough bars.

Very disappointed when l went. Years ago on a Sunday there was always a market on....now it is a glorified sitting area with shops around the square.....hardly any open or set up.

Wonderful building - an amazing survivor from 1777. Recently renovated - makes a stunning setting for a concert. Quite a few independent shops around the galleries. Hopefully the empty units will soon be let. Good cafes and bars. Worth a visit.

Beautifully restored marketplace of major historical importance. Lots of interesting shops. A great gin bar!

Although I haven t been on a nice summers day yet, can imagine it s a great place to be. Love the independent and eco friendly shops inside. The cafes are all great also. Recommend Pride and Provenance next to it for an epic cheese toastie

A great place to spend New Year's Eve. Comedy night was good, drum band were mesmerising.

Still lots of shops empty but nice places for food n drink so you can soak up the atmosphere. Fantastic building with loads of historical info dotted about brings it to life.

Love how friendly everyone is could not do more to make you feel welcome and dogs are welcome too.

There is a good range a speciality shops, cafes, a gin bar and restaurants. Adjoining it is the industrial museum which is open at weekends and well worth a visit. The walkways are covered.

Well worth a visit I've been a few times my girlfriend saw for the first time and she loved it advise people who visit go on a Friday or Saturday.

What a fabulous place to visit..didn't get to look around as much as I would have liked, but will make a point of returning.

This place is definitely back with a bang, check out all the neat little stores within the concourses

Changed the floor but still not level lol. All good shops have left, and now only half full.

Wonderful place, nice shops and chilled atmosphere very enjoyable afternoon walking around and browsing.

Great restoration and good places to eat and shop. Enjoyed a film in the new Square Chapel theatre. Day out helped by unseasonally warm February weather!

Ideal place to visit if you have 2-3 hours spare & enjoy browsing arty farty shops. The little cafe gets very busy thru the day especially in the cold winter months as folk need to hug a big mug of hot chocolate & warm up !
Best to go on a night time when it has more visitors & a more lively atmosphere. Looks to have some good nightly acts on through the Xmas & new year period in the two large "tents" that have been erected inside.

Would not pay to get into chow down, even lady in wheel chair refused that was before us. Prices in the shops are over priced. White elephant comes to mind

Went last night with the wife for our anniversary fantastic night and atmosphere..
Im ashamed to say this but its the first time ive been since updated i will be back very soon

Truly remarkable and amazingly looking place. You feel like you're on one of the Italian squares and not in the heart of Yorkshire.

Great concept to house all these great independent shops and specialist businesses in this beautiful old building.

My review is mainly for the Trading Rooms restaurant, and our server - The only thing is iv lost my receipt with her name. I think it was Keighley-Ann??
By the by, I had booked a table for my mother 80th birthday lunch, just the 2 of us and we had a very special afternoon. I would like to think we were getting special treatment but all the servers looked after all the customers very well.
The lunch menu has a nice variety of light and mains. Mom chose a roast chicken Breast on a white bean sauce, I had the flat iron steak. I m a fussy eater and didn t want the accompanying mushrooms and chips - not a problem to switch to broccoli which is a side order. My first steak arrives well done, I ordered it medium rear. Again the waitress said not a problem and got me not only a steak done the way I ordered but a whole new meal!!
We had desserts, coffee and Prosecco. When the bill came moms Prosecco was on the house and I had some money knocked off the bill for the first steak, they really didn t have to do this as the replacement steak was delicious and handled without fuss.

Great service great surroundings, and my mom wanted to add clean wash rooms!!

There, you can do things that even (because of the passage of time) you did not remember, diverse and interesting things. A must to know.

Beautifully restored buildings and pavings, as of August 17, still many shops empty... will be great when they fill up

Nice place to visit, lovely artisan shops in the hall.

First visit since refurbishment was excited to visit. However it was quite an anti-climax. I expected all the shops to be full but they weren't. Quite disappointed at my visit today

This is a wonderful place full of history & lots of independent shops . The library & square chapel is great. Very friendly people natural helpful . Would recommend The Piece hall to anyone

The jewel in the crown of Halifax. Been done up again and looking very fine. Lots of craft type shops selling things you want but don't need. Will be interesting to see how it evolves.
