Fantastic place for small shops and cafes. So atmo...
Fantastic place for small shops and cafes. So atmospheric, all that history.
Fantastic place for small shops and cafes. So atmospheric, all that history.
Still quite a few empty units but it's getting better
Stunning building, shops were ok but could have been more varied.
The site is beautiful and will make a great venue for a range of business and leisure purposes.
Terrible treatment by security. Id avoid this venue at all costs. Excluesec security ruined an otherwise great event.
Suberb preservation of historic building with unique shops
Prefer the old piece hall now they have filled the middle with steps
Very disappointing. I wanted an all day breakfast but neither of the eateries seemed to have what I wanted so after an unsuccessful visit to the Square Chapel cafe I went to Sainsburys where I had an excellent meal.
Love this place. Lots of unusual shops selling great gift items
The Piece Hall was brilliant, looking forward to the events that will be put on there.
This is a special place! Just to sit in the square and have a coffee or do nothing just soak up the atmosphere. The upgrade to the Square is superb. The shops a delight. Lifts and loos handy.
Fab job with the renovations. Looks a bit stark though. Hope the shops stay open at weekend this time to make it worth while a visit. Need more shops in empty units.
First visit here and won't be the last. This listed building with beautiful backdrop has been created into a fantastic artisan shopping experience. Lots of different traders, from gin to chocolate to books and gifts, loads to see. Plenty of little places to eat. But do the history part of the building to appreciate this place.
Amazing place, Halifax is a really lovely town with the piece hall adding to it.
I am bowled over by how The Piece Hall has been improved. This space is now a real credit to Halifax. We took part in one of the free guided tours which was excellent and fascinating. I have recommended a visit to The Piece Hall to so many people since we visited. The space is beautiful, the small museum is interesting and the shops are varied.
Great open space with lovely shops food & drink well worth a gander.
Really enjoyed our visit here! Lot's of independent shops and amazing architecture. Definitely the best place to visit in Halifax.
Gobsmacked. No other word for it. Those involved in restoring this jewel in the crown of The North deserve a medal. A sight for sore eyes. Fantastic shops - you'll want for nowt. Our favourite was Loafers coffee shop n vinyl. Great heritage visitor centre too.
Could have spent the whole day here will definitely be going back
Nice setting and great little shops and boutiques for browsing and chilling over coffees. We went for the TdY start and the enclosed space created a super atmosphere. Nice one Halifax
Fantastic, will defiantly be going back have recommended it to family and friends
Beautiful place with nice independent stores..Fantastic atmosphere
Beautiful as all dressed for Xmas. Loved the atmosphere and the huge range of small shops. An incredibly charming and historic place
Very nice shops great vinyl shop Loafers good coffee as well. If you go have a good look round many places to eat as well. You will spend about half a day to have a good look round
Lovely tourist attraction in Halifax, Yorkshire. Was originally built as a wool trading market in the late 18th century and then later changed to a general market. The building has undergone a major restoration program in recent years and now houses shops, cafes etc and is a great day out for all the family.
Really nice place to look at but could do with a bit more going on.
Enjoyed a glass of white wine in a sun trapped corner of this wonderful building. Could have been anywhere in Europe. But no, I was in Halifax!
Loads of unusual shops and galleries. Beautiful place.
Stunning place! Definitely worth a visit if you're around that area!!
Since the refurbishment the central area is a great place to walk and for kids to play, ride bikes or skateboard etc or just run around and enjoy. Close to and gives access to excellent library. Lovely array of shops around outside. Parking on streets around not so good making it a 4 not a 5.
Interesting architectural gem, well worth a visit, please visit the town as well,as these small towns need your support.
Iconic building, needs to be appreciated, and kept well as part of our heritage.
Looks amazing now it has been refurbished! I was at the christmas market on Saturday and it was so busy, there were some fantastic stalls showcasing local talent and wears. I'm glad they have so many events going on recently and on the future, it is bound to become a talking point for Halifax. The shops in there surrounds of the walls are good too, I noted a few places that I would like to go back and visit when it's a little quieter.
A must for all. Nice to see a grand building with such history. Plenty of different little shops for everyone to enjoy.
Open but not at full pace yet needs lots of pop up food outlets struggling to find anywhere to eat needs to be a fully rounded event full and fully catered place
Totally different to anywhere else we have been .beautiful
Brilliant, went to see father john misty. Brilliant. Brilliant venue
Nicely refurbished and quite a few interesting shops and cafes. Still a lot of empty units but I'm sure they will get occupied soon
A lovely Christmas atmosphere for adults and children
Great atmosphere, shops are a little niche. Clean, staff are nice. Feels like a world away from the main town centre.
It's all good now they have redone the floor and removed the cobbles. So much more wheelchair friendly now.
Worth a visit. Lots of nice shops and friendly staff. We parked in the eureka car park which was less than 5 mins walk and very reasonably priced.
Great little shops to look round with unusual gift ideas will be even better when they are all open. Lots of bars and cafe etc.
An iconic shopping location built in the 1700s as a wool trading market. We went during refurbishment so was closed but could see through the gates and it is really looking clean inside.
Hope it keeps busy and vibrant when it opens in August 2017 because it became quiet with many closed shops last time I visited. Nottingham city centre has a similarly large open slabbed space in the middle and stage many successful events there, I hope the Halifax Piece Hall does the same.
Great place to meet friends and share event experiences and eateries, trading places, gin bar lovely for pre event drinks.
Amazing... never been but what an atmosphere and the gin bar wasn't three bad either
Needs to do more to entice the public in now the warmer climate is here. A couple of good bars such as Gin Lane, and The Wine Barrel will help you enjoy your day/night. The Elder is a let down somewhat. Some decent music events like a DJ in the centre of the square, and some beer tents would cater to those wanting to drink and socialise, and improve the atmosphere thereafter.
Great day out. The history info rooms are brilliant. Through out year there are attractions. Nice to see individual small businesses. Several places to grapb a drink or quick bite to eat. Always good to check website to see what's going on. I will definitely be returns for a day out
Great friendly, local and independent shops. Great themed events throughout the year (pre covid) including music events
