Its a beautiful old school theatre and houses great talent but the upper circle seating is a deal breaker for myself and my friends. There is not enough leg room for anyone over 5'10". The cramp it gave me was next to unbearable. The prices for refreshments are also extreme but comparable to other theatres in London however this theatre doesn't provide anywhere near a good enough customer experience to warrant the prices.

The performance was amazing! However if your sitting on the upper circles it really feels like your falling down. Also, the seating area is too squashed and there's no room to sit comfortably everyone is squashed up together. I went to lean my head on my chair and ended up hitting the person sitting above me, their knee. Very uncomfortable.

Went to see the woman in black, sadly I lost my tickets I explained this to the gentleman on the box office and he reprinted me tickets saving my night. We were in the upper circle which was my only whinge but I choose to sit there as they were cheaper so my fault really. The problem I had was other spectators were not able to sit without affecting people views from behind. So if you go get the stalls pay the extra.

Now the show

Quite slow to begin with but once you understand the story it begins to pick up the 2 main actors were captivating and kept the imagination working well with the props they had. Would I see it again?? Probably not but that's not a critique as I try and watch as many shows as I can. I highly recommend though

Also they have a strict no photograph policy I managed to get my pic in before I got told off lol

We really enjoyed our experience at the Fortune Theatre, we watched the Woman in Black, we absolutely loved the show, it was scary and much better than the movie, there is literally only three actors but they gave a amazing performance, we were lucky to get a upgrade to the front rows, the theatre was nice and intimate, I would definitely recommend!

I was here for the premiere of The Hobbit and it was very good. Apart from the movie being amazing, the cinema was great, the service was awesome and I felt really comfortable sitting for the almost 3-hour movie.

I had a fully inersed experience watching the play of the women in black. As much as it is a small stage compared to other theatres, it give everyone the feelings of what atmosphere is being produced. I would like to go back here as i was comfortable despite the jump scares there are in the play i witnessed. Also the acting and the special effects put a really enjoyable experience on the audience and myself. I recommend this to others who seek to watch this play

Watched the Woman in Black here. Play was great, can t fault it, actors were impeccable and the story is great.

The theatre however, is not! Tiny cubicles as toilets for the ladies, barely enough space to close the door! Of course there are only TWO cubicles for the ladies so you can imagine the queues.

Why must the washroom be so small, with the tiniest of cloakroom sinks?!

Seats in the actual theatre itself are uncomfortable, but I was expecting that.

Again, great play, if you re a woman, perhaps visit the washroom elsewhere!

Theatre itself is amazing, small, old school. The show and the two actors were equally amazing. Sadly all let down by most of the staff who so very clearly do not enjoy their jobs and certainly couldn't care less about their paying customers. I say most as there was a couple of members of staff who were excellent.

Watched "Woman in Black". Great play. The theatre is sometimes described as "intimate". This must have been written by an estate agent!
The seating is cramped and uncomfortable. We were in the upper circle Myself and another man of equal height (6'3") had to hang our legs over the (unoccupied) seats in front in order to get any sort of comfort, which still wasn't comfortable.

I guess it's quirky and charming? Not so charming when you need to squeeze past other patrons to make your way to the one men's toilet in the whole venue. It's like someone put a theatre in their townhouse...

A great experience watching The Woman In Black. As a couple we had the box with some goodies included. The space was cozy, and doesn t take more than 3. Also the side view at times means you miss bits of the scenes. I would do a box again though! The stalls are very compact and some seats better for long legged folk than others.

Smaller and less grand than its formidable neighbours in the a West End, this theatre perfectly suited to show the haunting play The Woman in Black. Even from a couple of rows back in the stalls you can see the whites of the actors eyes. A lovely range of drinks for the interval and friendly staff made for a great visit

Really nice, cosy theatre, hosting The Woman in Black since 2005.
If you haven't seen The Woman in Black on stage then you definitely should! It's one of the best stage productions I've ever seen, and genuinely quite tense and atmospheric.
The theatre itself is very nice, most seats (even the cheap seats) have a good view of the stage and don't lose much in terms of atmosphere. Staff ensure that all snacks and sweets are decanted into plastic cups to avoid noisy wrapping crunching and crinkling throughout the performance which is a nice touch (I wish they would do this everywhere).
A great date night if you're into a the horror / thriller genre but find most silver screen attempts rather disappointing.
