Really awe inspiring place. The memoriam for Sir George Seville under his statue was beyond beautiful. I will definitely try to learn more about him. As for the structure itself, it compares quite favorably to the basilica at St. Peter s at the Vatican. It s scale is breathtaking and the detail is mind-blowing. I cant imagine the money it must take to keep this place going, so to those that found the admission to expensive, perhaps a little perspective is in order. I would strongly recommend visiting, even if you have to go out of your way.
Beautiful building so much history. Fantastic views from the roof.
Unbelievable engineering to shore up the central tower
Beautiful building and stunning stained glass windows. Well worth a visit.
An absolute must visit if in York.....But York is a must visit anyhow
Love the minster, my kids love it to, we go often and discover more each time, really nice gardens aswell.
Fantastic, a must if you are in York & you need to climb Clifford's Tower
There shouldn't be any ticketing system for the visitors
Historical gothic minster which took 250yrs to complete, the 275step climb to the top was hell but worth it for the views alone
Every time we visit the Minster, there's always something new to see. Such wonderful art, history, architecture and countless other things to look at, soaking in the atmosphere and still have a feeling of wonder when leaving.
Great views over York if you walk up a lot of steps first! Minster itself is very impressive
We had the grateful opportunity to accompany the Choir on a Sunday, when the Cathedral was closed for visitation. It was wonderful!!!
Amazing building to go and look around and theres lots to see, you could spend all day in here if you really wanted to, only given 4 stars because you have to pay extra to go to the top and it's already quite expensive to get in.
Lovely building. Not to be missed while visiting York.
A beautiful midnight Christmas mass. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
Love this church design. My Uni graduation ceremony was held in York Minster. It was so grand. My friends all said that the pictures i taken here were like Hogwarts school.
It is a beautiful church. It left me speechless, too bad about that huge tree that obstructs the view from many angles.
IMHO the prettiest gothic cathedral in the British Isles. It's an historic building with excellent guided tours. Original stained glass, tower with views of Yorkshire, chancel house, hidden sculptures, and gift shop
Really enjoyed the visit a great way to spend time doing something that is different really would recommend that you go
Just beautiful. Worshipful. Wish we had time for guided tour.
York Minster is one of the more impressive ancient monuments. I only give it 4 stars because the endless renovation means you never seem to see it in its full glory. Right now, restoration work on the organ means there is scaffolding half way down, blocking end to end views through the Minster.
Post lockdown tour of the minster was socially distanced perfectly
Beautiful and well preserved church in the Gothic style. The best part for those who like history is the museum under the church. Be sure to visit it.
What an incredible place. Full of history and so much to see. The tower is a must but pretty challenging. The view is amazing when you reach the top so you forget that your legs are like jelly.
Spent several hours taking in all in. Worth every penny and will definitely return.
The Minster is beautiful, steeped in history and the staff friendly. Although the tickets are a little pricey they are valid for twelve months and you can visit as often as you wish for the duration.
A must see for anyone visiting York. A historical landmark of the city.
Excellent but the 270 steps up the central tower are hard work do them at your peril. Lol
Wonderful history, spent two hours there which was the minimum needed to climb the tower and enjoy the excellent guided tour. So much to see and learn
Unusual power invades us. It's an epitome of beauty, although I also love Lincoln's magnificent cathedral.
A building of beauty. The craftsmanship is amazing. The size of everything is so massive. The detail gone into the glass stained windows is truly beautiful. We spend about 2 hours wondering around. A must visit
Wow.
We had York Minster on our list of go-to places for a long time and are very glad that we finally made the trip. The entrance ticket is good for a year and we might very well come back for a second visit during that time; the Minster (and the town that surrounds it) are well worth visiting.
Wonderful old building but very expensive entry fee.
A beautiful cathedral. Very well organized when entering. Different in relation to others since it has few saints and the altars are quite sober.
There's are better cathedrals in the UK. But this one makes up for it with extras, such as the museum.
Beautiful City, Cathedral is the icing on the Cake.x
Definitely worth a visit. It looks incredible and is really interesting. There is currently some work ongoing in the building and a one way system to be aware of. There is also a shop with your standard souvenirs.
Beautiful place, staff seemed ?tired ?grumpy. Lessened the experience but great bucketlist item
If there is one thing you should visit when in York, it should be the minster.
Wonderful cathedral with masses of history..and vaults dating back to Roman times or earlier., Inside is so light with beautiful stained glass windows dating back to 1300.
