The Gothic-style church is majestic and one of the best places to visit in York. Although the fare is not very cheap, it can be visited up and down, including the tower. Great commanding heights.
Beautiful historic place to visit but did not go on tour as four of us to be spend more than forty pounds,shame.

York is a city full of history and one of such amazing architectural beauty. My best experience was walking through the shambles! Fun fact: Constantine was acclaimed as emperor by the army at Eboracum ( modern day York) after his father's death in AD 306. Looking to add on places to see as a traveler, don't bypass York!

Absolutely beautiful minster, definitely a must see if you're in York. Great place to take photos and can easily lose yourself in the beautiful architecture. Brilliant gardens surrounding the minster, perfect to sit and have lunch and admire the view, or to take the kids. You can also walk the wall surrounding the minster (and city) allowing you to see the minster from all angles. Great day out and a definite must see if your nearby.

York Minster is steeped in history. It's architecture is breathtaking and is lovely to look around. A definite must visit for all who travel to York.

Just been to the annual carol service in celebration of the NHS and it was a beautiful service and a fabulous choir from yorks and Lincoln. Packed congregation.
Always visited York on Good Friday since my two sons were small. Went this Good Friday love to go into the Minster to light 3 candles for my late family members.

Such a beautiful minister steeped in history. I certainly recommend climbing the 275 steps to the top of the tower. The views are amazing
Amazing place not had chance climb stairs in the tower for look at scenery around york but very nice place to visit at yes you have pay to enter but then your ticket valid for 1yr

Fantastic old cathedral. The COVID safe tour was really well done. Like most things, these days you have to book in advance, but don t let that put you off. It is really well done and you got to see the whole of the minister on a one-way self-guided tour. A must see if you are visiting York
York is beautiful but never in a month of sundays will i pay to enter a church.
The entire population and especially its cathedral are worth a visit and if possible at Christmas, which is when all the charm wins

Nice old abbey building, not sure we should have to pay as it make a tour inside quite expensive and prohibits those on a low income. Surely these buildings should be open to everyone regardless of income, let those that can afford to pay and make it voluntary

Well even if you are not of a Religious lifestyle you can just walk around and Marvel at the Pure Historical and Architectural Beauty just amazing to see and yes you have to pay for this experience but your admission lasts for 12 months
Although York is not large, this magnificent church is definitely worth visiting.
Amazing history, fantastic free guided tours, just a beautiful, gorgeous building. Go see it for yourself. You'll be glad that you did. And the Chapter House? Words don't do it justice.
A must see when visiting York .Climbed the tower steps don't do heights but spectacular views over York from every angle so glad to overcome fears .Love history and came away with a sense of well-being and inner peace .Entrance fee well worth money and you can go anytime of year for free after paying once .Really beautiful building grateful it's still about for us to enjoy and appreciate .

Beautiful cathedral of Norman architecture, which dazzles even in the persistent rain that did not stop falling on the stoic tourists who, with little protection and much interest, toured the place admiring stained glass, gargoyles and gardens. York is a really charming city, which retains its medieval appearance and offers all the comforts of our times.
Making use of the excellent tour guides is really worth it. Great visit
5:15pm visitors can walk in and attend service, enjoy the songs. Very impressive
