I've been here before so knew what to expect. The guided tour was poor, I could hardly hear the guide. Not sure why the group couldn't have been split into 2 so we could all hear.

The building style is very nice. The entrance fee was high, so I went inside for a while, but the park behind the cathedral was not bad either.

A fantastic building to look at didn't go in thought the admission charge was a bit steep found that with quite a few of the attractions in York went to Edinburgh twice last year found it to be better value they weren't trying to rip you off just because your a tourist

What can you say that's knot been said 5Stars is not enough for fantastic place

I just love wondering around it, its massive inside and you just don't know where to look next. Went on to guided tours, also up the main tower, boy is that hard going, 275 steps, had to stop a few times to get my breath back.

It's worth it, but I've seen more interesting cathedrals.

Well worth a visit , some real history here, I suggest a guidebook or audio tour as these greatly enhance the experience .it is possible to look around without some sort of extra guide , but you are missing out on a great amount of information

The staffs here are helpful and friendly. York Minster is really big and delicate. East window is ongoing restored now, however you can browse the story of each glass window with the tablet there. It s worth a visit!

An amazing building on a grand scale - worth a visit.

It's nice to sit outside for shooting. Going in is a waste of nearly ten pounds, but I'm probably not religious, so I can't feel the value of religion and architecture.

Came to see the film locations for Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrel. Saw the statues of the bickering kings, Musical David and Miriam and the bitter Archbishop. The undercroft contains some fascinating items including tiles made by the 9legion Hispaniensis...the Lost Legion. Outside the Cathedral they maintain the stonemasons yard where amazing repair work and creation can be seen.



Nonstop work goes on to maintain and repair this amazing historical sight.

Pretty much Westminster abbey except hadn t been in as many movies and a lot less tourists.. still just as amazing

What can I say York minster is breathtakingly beautiful. We had the guided tour and this revealed so much more than if we had wondered around on our own. Would highly recommend visiting this amazing place

Great tourist sightseeing destination. A historic and interesting exhibit. Plenty to see and photograph. A ticket gives you 12 months entry as well. I would go again on my return to this city.

The Minster in York is a huge, impressive building. One should overcome the gasping breathing caused by the entrance fees. The cathedral, with its columns, capitals and windows, is definitely worth seeing. The latter are particularly noticeable when the sun is shining. The view from the tower is also worthwhile, especially when visibility is good.

A beautiful church. Not to be missed if you are in or around York.

Just stunning. Also went up to the tower amazing views. The Minster but not the tower is included in the York pass. I highly recommend the York Pass if you re visiting York for the first time.

A beautiful building - I would recommend taking a free tour by one of the friendly and knowledgeable tour guides - Our guide, Christopher (I think), was a very good story teller.

Learnt alot whilst visiting, went to the top of the minster and the views where amazing.

This is probably my favourite Starbucks, unlike a lot of other Starbucks this one is spacious and has a decent amount of seats. It's also really nicely designed.

Great building in terms of architecture and detail but really not worth the entrance fee in my opinion. Especially for a family of 4.

Great tourist attraction that's very photogenic.. And easy to find or to use as a bearings point for navigating around York centre on foot, given that it can be seen from many places

Nice from the outside which is where you should stay. Morning communion held in small alcove hence building is scarecelty used for religious purposes. Outrageous that a church charges admission. As a mere commercial tourist attraction should lose tax free status. Spend your hard earned at real tourist attractions and visit real churches such as holy trinity. Jesus would have thrown these tax collectors from their own temple in his day.

Stunning building gorgeous atmosphere a wonderful Yorkshire landmark

Beautiful, huge and very old church - filled with many, many stained glass windows. Visit the crypt area underneath and you can see part of the original church wall from Roman times, something like 1060 AD. They are regularly working on renovations, so you may see scaffolding set up.

Nice to visit York Cathedral during December where Carol singers take us to Christmas!

One of the most historically important minsters in the UK. Visually stunning, full of history, the guides were excellent, and the overall experience was quite memorable.

Impressive church that recalls the typical style you can admire in places like the duomo in Milan. The square is nice as well, with lots of services around like gift shops, pubs, restaurant, etc. One of the place to visit in York.

Beautiful old Minster with a lot more than you would think, to see. Would highly recommend.

Amazing building and important piece of history. Undergoing some renovation work on the organ but well worth a visit. Staff are on hand to explain many of the features throughout. A must visit if you are anywhere near the area.

When you pay a visit to York it's a must to look around this marvelous City Cathedral.The history and architecture is outstanding,it makes you stand in awe to think how they built this amazing place all those years ago.With none of the technology we have today, how cleaver these people were of years gone by.The whole experience is just a wonderful thing to do,and one I can recommend to anyone who likes to look around these incredible place.

Enjoyed this visit to the Minster and had to take the climb to the top of the tower. Lots to see you can wonder on your own or take a guided tour. Many things to see , the famous Rose and Sisters window, gothic carvings and stone memorials and carvings . Plenty of photos opportunities especially if you take the tower tour. Access to the tower was bookable with plenty of time to take in the views around york and beyond several hundred steps up and down so you do need to be quite fit. Access is also included into the undercroft where you can see the foundations and early parts of the church. Flat access throughout (but not up the tower!) and all toilets available. On leaving you will exit through the shop.

Magical. I love this place. If you are in York it isn't a place to be missed.

One of the most elegant of architectural churches in England. The stain glass windows a must see for the intricate workmanship from the Middle ages in England. York is gorgeous in history and culture.

Beautiful building with excellent architecture. Prices were slightly steep for nothing. Would love it if the prices were slightly cheaper.

Was there today for my son's graduation York minster has always been one of my favourite places a must visit place!

It's a fabulous place and a big part of English history. We must give thanks to all those who contributed to the massive restoration project after the 1984 fire.

Unbelievable piece of architecture. Had to be seen in person to fully appreciate its magnificence.

If you are planning a trip to York you'll already know this is a must. Have a good look around outside first but be amazed at what's inside as well.
