A great place to see some historic religious artifacts
Stunning in summertime the Minster is amazing. The grounds are beautiful. The stalls are set up within the grounds selling food beers wines etc. Also a little garden lawn that the kids can play on with games to play giant jenga blocks, croquet on the lawn. A really nice day out
Old and tall and magnificent. The Chapter House especially is in the presence of eternity.
A fabulous example of a mediaeval minster. The scale of the place is astonishing. Guided tours during the day, recommended, as you get to find out more about the interesting history of the building
A fantastic historical place to visit, no matter what religion you believe in. The architecture is amazing. The place is looked after. They also provide guided tour, which is excellence! There us an entrance ticket fee but it valid 12 months so its a good value and worth a visit.
Vaulted ceilings and huge stained glass windows. Stunning place of peace and worship.
Beautiful building albeit a pity there was a service on so we couldn t go inside
Amazing place it's a must see if your going to York
Visited the minster recently and thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
York minster beutifull minster in beutifull York only thing didn't like the price to enter
Wonderful views over the city from such an amazing and interesting building. Would recommend as a must see when visiting York.
Great place to visit. Full of history. Beautiful architecture.
Huge and beautiful example of Gothic architecture, started by the Normans around the year 1000 and finished after 1400
Always have a walk around the outside and if time and funds permit head inside. Sometimes catch a glimpse of the Stonemasons working on the exterior.
Worth visiting and the surroundings are good for a walk
The minster is beautiful, but it is worth joining a tour to learn about the history and meaning of what you will see.
Great team, but there were no tours taking place. But you could still walk around
Recommend a visit, amazing place. Staff & volunteers very helpful.
Such a tranquil, peaceful place to just sit in silence and think. A place to light a candle in memory of our loved ones who are in a better place now and at peace
Fascinating experience! This is obviously a must see but I would recommend the guided tour service. And if you want to go all the way up the tower mind that the way up is extremely narrow and not quite suitable for people with claustrophobia.
York minster wow what an incredible building inside and out. If you get chance definitely visit inside you won't be disappointed.
Beautiful both inside and out. Can be very very busy at times though.
Excellent cathedral worth. Visit to York just for this
Nice historic building but a bit overpriced for entry
York minster is wonderful and lots of history and lots of places to visit. and lots places to eat
Didn't go inside Minster, took photos from outside!
Lovely building but extortionate price for entry which is disappointing for a place of worship. From the outside it is impressive.
It's a dreaming Town! Most of people are polite, streets are clean. We didn't see any begging persons. A lot of monuments to view and visit. We had an hotel very pleasant clean and comfortable and helpful staff. The only small York mistake" in my view"is we did have to pay the visit to discover the Minster. Enjoy the history and the stories.
Beautiful and well worth the climb to get to the top and see the amazing view
Beautiful building but equally a complete waste of money for something which is decapitated to religion. There is a walk you can do near the top of the building which although I didn't do my brother did and said he was struggling a little and he is rather fearless when it comes height.
Amazing architecture. The history. The tower challenge was a great workout for the legs and superb views on a good day
Worth every penny of the entry fee. Just an amazing building with a very well explained history. Great to have so many things pointed out which would otherwise just be glossed over and barely noticed. A really calm and heavenly ambiance and we were lucky enough to happen on a time where there were people singing which was just really beautiful.
Its lovely place. I was astonished by the monument.
Wonderful building but expensive to visit compared with other cathedrals.
A reminder of God"s greatness and eternity and how people strove and gave to honor and worship HIM.
Huge breathtaking sized cathedral, covid 19 safety measures in place, so some of minster out of bounds but still well worth a visit
Great architecture and really interesting in doors too.
The most beautiful place to Be Still! And know the Glory and Peace of the Lord.
Absolutely beautiful! The scope and magnificence of this marvelous edifice makes a statement reflecting the grandure of Almighty God. A wonderful house of worship. This is a must visit while in York, Great Brittain. Better yet, don't just visit, go and worship.
Incredible gothic cathedral in the heart of York. You can't visit the city without being aware of its presence, and you can't visit the cathedral itself without failing to be inspired by its history and the stories it has to tell.
Expensive but worth it. Make sure you climb up the tower and go down to the undercroft.
Beautiful Abbey, must visit this place if you are in York.
Wonderful experience for anyone interested in religion, history, architecture, art or engineering. Spent a solid 2 hrs. The Undercroft adds another dimension to the experience.
Great tour guides and a must add when visiting York. Loved it
Amazing building throbbing with the weight of its history. If you get the chance go up the tower. 275 steps but doable without too much trouble and we'll worth it. Don't miss the undercroft museam which tells the story of how the building was saved from collapse - which in the process uncovered some incredible Roman ruins. If your going to York and you have a interest in history it's a must do.
Compared to the well-known churches in London that can't take pictures, York Minster's status and connotation will not be worse, and the peace of the York city centre is better.
Take the stairs to the top. Overlooking the city of York.
An amazing place, beautiful both outside and inside. The exhibition of its history in the basement is fascinating. Also, the tickets are valid for numerous visits over twelve months.
Such a wonderful structure to visit if you like historical buildings.
Beautiful cathedral! There is a lot to see inside. Stained glass windows are sublime.
I recommend this visit!
Best place to visit if you are in York, after the National Train Museum of course, amazing place, you can even climb in the highest tower and get a very nice wallpaper of the city.
Verry nice. Verry huge catedhrall. Nice place for visit. Impressive arhitecturall.
Beautiful also for the chance to climb the bell tower.
So much history & you can see how they maintain and repair the stonework.
Beautiful building, incredible atmosphere. Bit pricey if you're a tourist. Lovely gardens to take a picnic. Walk the City Walls to get more great views of the building and explore the tiny streets round the back of the Minster.
Good place to sit and people watch and learn sten to the busker. York minister is very impressive. At the the side of the minister there are stone masons working and some of the work on display.
Great place for history, and the thing at Christmas is OK as well
A lovely Nine Lessons and Carols on Christmas Eve. I then returned to ring the bells on Christmas morning as a guest of the band of ringers. A memorable experience!
