Use to come all the time.

While the sushi is average, they have a lot on the menu that's pretty good. Daily specials are always fun. Add on that there is a bar and karaoke, it's a nice place to stop by.

While food quality has dropped since it first opened, it doesn't mean its still not worth it. That's why it lost a star.

Good karaoke place... Drinks are reasonable...song request are $2 / song on the weekend nights....

Sushi is pretty good and prices are really good.

This place is perfect for karaoke. Its got so many great songs. I'd recommend it to anyone. My husband loves this place and we're coming back on 3/15 for my birthday. :))

Had an amazing time here but the bottle service is ridiculously high tho. Nice atmosphere, and the private karaoke rooms are great.

Miso soup is always on point along with many sushi selection tapas style. The food is great with an amazing ambience.

The private rooms have a limited playlist of songs and the program to play them is not designed for Western society. You're better off staying in the public space.

My friends and I went for Philly Restaurant Week and had a great time. The food was good and the vibe was nice. However, it was a very long meal time wise so keep that mind if you re going.

Great time, only suggestion is to actually have songs and videos by the music artist or just use YouTube.

Really fun place to go. Gave it 4 stars because its ridiculously expensive. Like crazy expensive. Our group spent about $70 a person just for food and drink, and we didn't get much. Still a great place to go though.

Yakitori is a pretty adequate karaoke bar. Private rooms are pretty clean, service staff are usually friendly.

Perfect date night spot, flattering lighting and amazing, affordable food. The yakitori is amazing, especially the beef on a stick. The bacon wrapped eggs on a stick feel innovative. Apologies for not knowing the dish names! My first time having yakitori.

Pros: The vibe is dope, food prices good even without happy hour, food quality is delicious.

Great venue for karaoke, group rooms are well furnished. Mixed reviews on the bar service, definitely seems like they under pour upstairs.

There is no way in the world their electric bill is above $50 a month it's extremely dark in here so just be careful don't wear shoes that you have a hard time walking in because you'll definitely trip. Candles lit everywhere very peaceful and intimate setting. Perfect music to chat and eat to. Food was extremely delicious.

Fun experience but overly packed during the weekends

My travel companions and I visited on a Saturday night and could not get a room for karaoke so we settled for the bar, where we had appetizers and drinks. Food was good but the bartender was moody. She went from nice and pleasant to totally rude to one of us. Everyone else working in the bar was consistently pleasant.

You can have a great time with friends, because karaoke. Food and drink is pricey. The upstairs bathroom was wrecked.

It's a cool cozy place to grab the drinks and have the best food in downtown. The sushi is what I recommend. Hang in groups and hit the karaoke rooms. But if are in for wild treat then sing the song at the bar area and let other people see ur skills. Hit the place for food and music over drinks

Did karaoke here the other night. The karaoke machines are OK. Not extremely intuitive or easy to navigate. The song selection was OK. The food was pretty good, the chicken and salmon skewers were good as well as the Ramen. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Fun, good atmosphere, great service. I usually go on Wednesdays where they have half price sushi roll special. I never ate sushi until I came to this place with co-workers, however I do like it! I usually come in for a couple drinks, and some sushi rolls and always have a pleasurable experience. Been here atleast a half dozen times, haven't ran into any of the issues the other reviewers are complaining about.

I absolutely love this place! The wait staff was very accommodating. They waited on our entire group with ease. The food was great, the room was great and the karaoke was a blast. I will definitely be going back!

Chicken with scallions is my favorite.

The atmosphere was good and i actually came a half hour before my reservation and they served us early. The food was mostly fresh but the main course (surf and turf and cornish hen) was a little bit undercooked but was still edible. Drinks was on point especially the green-tini. Overall i will come back definitely for the sushi and the drinks.

Love the food and the service. If you go for karaoke its definitely worth getting a room for 4hrs. But you can also go for dinner downstairs.

If they upgrade the music selection and clean the bathrooms better that would be an improvement. The food was good but the servers were only okay.

I joined a friends birthday celebration in a private room here last night. We had a great time and Ricky provided wonderful service. Thank you!

My BFF rented the 20 person room for 3 hours to celebrate my birthday with 19 of my girlfriends (only a couple of which had been to Yakatori Boy). Having never visited the place nor ever having eaten there I had no idea how the night would go. But lemme tell ya, if you have an opportunity to go -- don't hesitate! GO! The atmosphere is super fun! The service was friendly and impeccable! (Do yourself a favor and ask for Bill, who effortlessly handled 20 women randomly screaming food and drink orders at him) And the most delightful surprise, the food was amazing and surprisingly affordable, especially considering the quality and presentation! And the 3 hour party turned into a wild 5 hour night of sake-fueled, sushi-eating, dancing-on-the-couch, karaoke-singing awesomeness!!! Everyone said it was the best birthday party they had ever been to. (Believe me, with this group of experienced party girls, that is the highest praise -- YAY!!!) Thank you Yakatori Boy for a fabulous and very memorable birthday! We'll definitely be back!!! :D

Absolutely love this place!! Great karaoke on the weekends, great vibes! My husband and I come here every Tuesday, for $3 Sapporo's and $1 Yakitori skewers!!! So good! All the servers and support staff are super friendly!

Friendly, fast service, nice upstairs private karaoke rooms, and great yakitori skewers, wide variety and reasonable prices.

Food tasted great and waitresses are very pleasant. Good place for hibachi and seafood japanese cuisine. Inside is dimly lit for a romantic experience.

Favorite karaoke spot in Philly.
Started going there about a year ago and things only continue to get better. Affordable, fresh new decor and other fixes, great service, delicious food and drinks and a very comprehensivble machine.
Good times.

Don't bother with this American version yakitori. If you been to NYC at Saint Mark then this place will surely disappoint you.

My husband and I go there often..we have never been disappointed..shout out to Jenna she's the best!!!!....i love the appetizer portions so I can try different things...I didn't give it a five because they have got to do something with that bathroom....it needs more light and needs to be maintained

Average food for Chinatown. Servers were nice enough but nothing special. Prices were right for the level of the place. Best part is that they're open late night.

Hi, I reserved a private karoake room and my party had a great time. The food was wonderful and it was alot of fun but the machine was impossible. Maybe it's just me but it cut into alot of our overpriced time. It's really not a place to bring kids even though there is a family time on Sunday evenings. I was hoping that it would be a little more family friendly. I was expecting a private party room that looks and feels like the atmosphere in the restaurant but it was like a little cave. There was a bench that hugs the half perimeter of the room and a ratty little coffee table and a large flatscreen on the other wall. It served the purpose but it felt seedy and dirty. It could have some better ambiance and a little more welcoming. Some decor of ANY kind would be nice. I was disappointed by the atmosphere and I was embarrassed to have brought my friends there. But I have to say that the service was great. We had a personal set of servers that came immediately when we rang. The food was wonderful however a little skimpy portion wise as I mentioned. For 2 1/2 hrs and 15 people I spent about $165 (this was all food and I hardly got any because the portions were so small my friends gobbled it down FAST) + $18 parking.

This palce was way cool .big screen Karaoke. A good telented crowd helped I am sure but. Even tho they were slammed with people from our convention The Staff was super nice. They have private rooms available for rent .Which seems like a cool idea if thats your thing but over all I had alot of fun.

The entrance is sort of confusing since there are two counters with hostesses, one with the other. It would've been nice if the hostess who was not helping someone to guide us along, but nevertheless this restaurant is A1. The food is a great price and delicious. It is comforting and sort of exciting being able to see all the station where each type of food is prepared. The atmosphere is sort of upscale, even with such affordable prices and I appreciate that. They do have alcoholic beverages and service is good. Plus there is a karaoke bar upstairs, which I have yet to explore.

I m sorry my first review was one star. I don t remember rating this place either. I want to correct it by saying I had a wonderful time and everyone at the front desk downstairs was so helpful and very nice! There were a few things I was having trouble with and they worked with me and helped me out! Thank you very much. Only realized I had left a review because of the reply the owner left. I m sorry for the mix up!
