Pretty okay yakitori, nothing too inspired. The sushi likewise is pretty okay, but I'd stick to maki. They do have a happy hour, though and the drinks are serviceable. Don't forget to check out the karaoke!

great spot for friends of 4-6 to group up and sing ! food was delicious though some may not be on the menu so ask ahead of time just in case you have to order something else. they were nice and extended our karaoke time to make sure I wasn't rushed out after getting my food.

Yakitori Boy is the look! With so many small plate options sharing is a must, and one of the best parts, being able to order a table worth of small bites and not break the bank is always a plus. Great Food, Great Sake, and a great time with friends, will be returning asap. Takoyaki, skewers, ramen, sushi. All amazing!

Had a great time but they definitely have a Shady practice for closing tabs. Was told my cards were ALL declined (no possible way) and "had" to use ATM in lobby which conveniently has an up charge. Really amazing that I could withdraw from the ATM without a problem but they 'couldnt' close me out with the same card at the bar.

Definitely a present surprise. Quality of menu definitely doesn't reflect the appearance of the place. Would never have expected this quality of food or service in a place that looks like this...

$1 skewers, $3 Sapporo drafts, and $5 for three karaoke songs...YOU CAN T BEAT THAT IN PHILLY! We had such a blast here and the sound system sounded great. We made a few new friends and we will definitely be back!

Some wide selection of delicacies from sushi to skewered meats. I would highly recommend to those who want to reminisce Japanese yakitori. So far this is the only place with yakitori style cuisine in Philly I know of.

The karaoke rooms are generally quite nice, and offered at a fair price. The song selection is reasonable and seems to be kept up to date. The food is simple and tasty, but is definitely a secondary reason to come here.

Waiters were awesome. Me and my girls sat outside. Didn't really like sitting so close to the street with oncoming traffic. Outside music was boring. I've been here before and it was cool back in February, but then again that was before the pandemic.

Yakitori Boy is probably best known for its upstairs Karaoke bar. Lots of fun can be had singing the night away. However, recently I discovered just how delicious some of their food offerings are as well.

To be honest, their menu is a bit overwhelming. Lots of choices from a variety a styles. If you 'don't know what you're hungry for', you might be in trouble. On the flip side, if you like a spread, you will be set.

We opted to mix and match. We ended up with a salad, a few skewers, sushi, tempura, and even a beef dish. I'll highlight my experience, but recommend you experiment on your own a bit too.

We wanted a salad and they all looked good, so had a dish that had a little of everything in the California Soba Salad. Portioned big enough to share for two or small enough to be taken down solo, I loved the crab and seaweed mixed with the soba noodles.

I feel skewers are a personal preference dish. However, you really should try the chicken skin (so crisp). We also had the bacon and quail egg and chicken heart skewers. I like how you can easily order individuals skewers until you fill up.

Their sushi game was on point. The he-man roll with crab was on the specials list and amazing. The sensei's sashimi was great as I was expecting the standard tuna, salmon, white fish but instead got so more unique fair (along with Ika and Octopus). Just check my photo.
Absolutely get the Negi Toro, two pieces priced to move!

Rounding our dinner out, the soft shell crab tempura was breaded perfectly. The beef negimaki was good and plentiful. Honestly, portions for all the dishes were great.

I'll leave you with a pair of key words: Happy Hour. Lychee-tini for $6?!? Yes please. Plenty of food specials for HH as well. It runs 5 to 7pm so check it out to save a bit of dough!

This place has been a favorite for years. Great food!! The open area is a great way to mingle and learn a new song or two. Excellent music selection. Private rooms have touch screens wall devices to choose music and control volume. Overall, a good time and never disappoints.

Really fun place! The hostesses were quick and friendly, and the staff was helpful with working the Karaoke machine. We only ordered skewers, and they were delicious, along with drinks. Would be 5 stars if not for wishing the machines were a bit easier to use. Error messages are not in English, so staff had to help out. I'll definitely go again!

Love this place, the sushi is delicious, and I've liked every dish I've ever tried here. I've been several times and the food is always fresh and has great quality ingredients. Not pricey at all for a great meal. The place is cute, although dimly lit, with a Lovely atmosphere. The karaoke bar upstairs is fun. Drinks are expensive, which is to be expected. Doesn't really impact me cuz that's not what I'm there for. I recommend you make reservations as they are very popular, at least on any weekend I've gone. Not sure about weekdays.

I really enjoy coming here because the food is delicious and I love the prices however this place looses two stars because the hostess with the thick bangs (I think her name is Alexa) isn t friendly. Would it kill her to be nice and pretend she enjoys her job? The hostess is supposed to be your first impression when you walk in to a restaurant and every time my party and I come here we always dread dealing with her. We are met with glares and eye rolls. It s almost as if she has something personal against us however that can t be the case as the only interaction we have with her is asking for a table. As soon as we get past the front door everyone else in the establishment makes us feel welcome. I don t know what we ever did to her to always get this kind of treatment but I really hope you guys consider replacing her with someone friendlier in the future.

I'd give zero stars if I could. We visited for a birthday party. Reserved a room and everything. They kicked 22 girls out because we were singing while waiting for our room to be ready. Are you kidding me? They said you can't sing in the restaurant. It's a bar. They said we were too loud. You told 22 girls to stand in a tiny corner in a loud bar. Of course our voices are going to carry. Shame on the management. Never going back.

Celebrated my 24th birthday here and I had an enjoyable time. My friends and I reserved a private karaoke room. The ambience was insanely rad! The karaoke machine was easy to use and had a large selection of modern artists. I thought it was extremely cool that we had the option to either sing along with the artist or sing by ourselves. The staff was exceptionally attentive. Every time we requested assistance, the staff arrived within 2 to 3 minutes to help us with any issues/orders. The only disappointment I experienced was the quality of food. The sushi was flavorless and needed soy sauce to recover the taste. However, the atmosphere of the private room and the quality of karaoke made up for the bland food. Overall, we had an entertaining time at Yakitori Boy! Looking forward to coming back!

We had an abysmal experience. After getting to our room we learned how to use the song selection machine, which promptly crashed. Then our waiter, Mike, blamed us for crashing the system but "putting our grubby hands all over it." He then offered to move us to a different room more suitable for our group of 8 (reserved an 8-10 person room) but at the end of the night we were upcharged TWICE (room should have been $20 an hour, they brought us into a $25 per hour room and then charged us $30 per hour) even though Mike said nothing about increasing the room fee. The song selection is lacking and the system is poorly designed (you cannot type in a song name, you must only type in the first letter of each word of the song). When we had difficulties our waiter was extremely rude saying "Okay is everyone finally paying attention so I can teach you to use the system yet again and do not need to come back a third time?!" Due to the system issues (crashed again later in the night) we lost an hour of the room reservation. When we were paying the bill the manager did not take responsibility and we felt like we were being taken advantage of. Will not be coming back.

Great atmosphere, the service is great and the food is really good food. A few of their food options are a bit overpriced. One thing don't like is that they are not very courteous when you book a room for karaoke. It felt like they were rushing us out 10 minutes before our time was up, we were basically pushed out. I probably won't rent a room for karaoke again, but I'll be back.
