Quiet hotel, great view from the room. Free Wi-Fi only for "Starwood" members, but membership is free.
Burger and beer selection were better than I expected
The hotel was very nice. The rooms especially, the bathroom decor was gorgeous. The beds were plush but I had a hard time getting in and out because the bed was high. The hotel has an on-site full table service, a pool, Ice machines on every other floors. It also consists of 26 floors. They have handicap accessible rooms and if you have mobility issues make sure you book a room on a floor that you can easily descend by stairs if there is an emergency. They offer valet parking but it's expensive at $50 a night. They have a self serve parking also at $7 /24 hrs. The rooms come with iron and ironing board, small coffee maker and a big flat screen TV. Checkout is at 12 and since everyone was leaving pretty much the same time it was frustrating waiting for an uncrowded elevator. Once we were in the lobby at the checkout, things progressed very fast. The lobby is quite large with a calming decor. However, I could not understand why in the bathroom in the lobby they only had two stalls. They do have a handicap accessible bathroom in the lobby. They offer room service but last call ends at 11:00 PM. They have numerous charging stations.
I've stayed here twice. The first time it just seemed like a standard "ok" hotel; until I got to my room. The sheets were visibly stained and most of the pillows had stains (dirt or pen marks?) as well as the comforters.
The second time was for a work conference and the room was cleaner but the hotel overall feels outdated. The lobby is decent but the hallways, rooms and lighting is just bad.
The location is good if you want to be on the parkway or plan on going to the museums but there are other hotels in the vicinity which would be nicer.
The worst experience ever!.. Don't let the great location fool you!... & please, please by no means, valet your vehicle with them!.. Both hotel & valet services need better training!....pronto... items were stolen from my vehicle, where then I was given the run around by both services, all the while no solution was being presented.. They're idea of fixing a problem is to ignore or sweep it away.. SAVE YOURSELF, DON'T BOOK!!..
In town for business. I am a Marriott gal all the way but for what I do it is easier to stay wherever an event is taking place. So I ended up at this Sheraton. My experience thus far is that Sheratons are a hit or miss. There is no consistency in the brand from city to city so I never know what I am going to get. For instance, in Phoenix the Sheraton is very very nice, Atlanta not so much and now Philly is along the same line as Atlanta. Not good.
Upon arrival via an UBER vehicle I saw an employee standing out front but he never directed me inside or even acknowledged that I had luggage and could be checking in. Luckily I've done this a time or two so I found my way to the check in. The lady who checked me in was really nice. Although she had my reservation wrong. I actually had booked a king bed on a high floor. She was able to get me a king bed room but on the 8th floor. I wish I'd paid attention as I like to be on a high floor and possibly could have had a better view.
After successfully checking in I head to the elevators to the 8th floor. Now seems like a good time to mention that the lobby was very bright and open. I step off the elevator on the 8th floor and it is rather dark, rundown, and in need of repairs. There's some sort of panels on the wall that look like they have been repainted over in a bad way. The dark blue carpet doesn't had to the situation. I get to my room (815) and there isn't anything that makes it feel inviting. The floor has some lumps in it as does the comforter. The panel in the bathroom is worn out and rusted as is part of the ceiling in the bathroom. Now that the sun has gone down I wish the lighting from the lamps was brighter.
Seeing as how it is 40 degrees in town and I just left 75 degree weather I decided to stay in for dinner. I checked out the lobby lounge bar called Local. I ordered some chicken nachos and the pretzels. Both were actually pretty good and had some spice to it which I didn't mind.
So the beds are okay. For some reason, I did not sleep well. I didn't like the pillows as they are too soft for me. I prefer my pillows to be on the firmer side.
The rest of my stay was pretty uneventful and I am happy to be back home.
Huge hotel located in the center of the city, near museums and shops, offices and banks. The customer service is great and they have good tourist services. The rooms are spacious and clean and the coffee that gives good quality. The room rates are acceptable. The parking is paid and somewhat expensive, but that's the way in the whole city. I recommend it!!
Nice place. Helpful staff. Room was okay, but the carpet in it was kinda gross. It had wet spots and stains. Also, paid wifi isnt so great.
Hotel needs some maintenance basic things are allright
Rooms need some TLC. Carpet was rippled and arms of chair was well worn, but the room was clean. The lap pool was wonderful.
Place really needs a renovation and better service mentality. The bathroom light fixture makes crackling and popping noises when turned on, which is really terrifying. I told my daughter to shower in the dark. The rooms are falling apart all together. My daughters bed sheets weren t clean. We ended up switching rooms and was placed in a smaller room that was less nice and had more problems. When I arrived at the valet with my car, the three valet guys just stood there talking to each other. I had to walk over to them and ask if the hotel offered valet. They did not open the doors to the hotel even though my hands were very full. They did not offer to help with bags. Nothing. The front desk check-in was the coldest and rudest checking I ve ever had, they wanted to make us wait three hours for our room that I pre-checked in for the day before. As a person who travels a lot and has high status with Marriott, I m pretty understanding of little things. Very disappointed in this hotel service.
Cheapest room available. No mini fridge. Clump of hair on bathroom floor. Bathroom does not have a fan. Everything else is as expected.
The renovations are a year too late. Though the staff is friendly, the condition of this hotel is shameful. Mold in bathroom, leaky faucets, no hot water at times, shower handle falling off, carpet stains, yellow stains on a towel, cracked sink basin, torn wallpaper, etc. Not what I expected and not what I paid for.
Yes. The views were stunning.
Edit. Downgraded to 2 stars. They didn t email me my receipt like every other Marriott property and I didn t get my Marriott points either.
Nice pillows. Bathroom door is a slider so it has a gap you can hear through. Also no fan in the bathroom.
Very friendly staff, however room is absolutely gross. Then they give us another room, that has another dirty carpet. No manager on duty until 3pm. Just absurd.
The property is very neat up, and in serious need of renovation. However, the staff is amazing.
Nice hotel with good amenities. Negative is paying $42 a night to park in their parking garage.
They were so accommodating, helpful, and nice. They went out of their way to make sure I was doing alright having just come from another state. They offered to help me with my bags, asked if I wanted a map of the area, and even showed me where to get a good meal. The cleaning lady on the first floor (for room 107) was especially kind to me. I love the Sheraton. 5+ stars.
Needs remodeling. Couldn't check in until 5 pm due to rooms being cleaned when checkin was 3.
This hotel was perfectly located for a conference in downtown Philly. The rooms were clean and fairly spacious but the address given was difficult for our Uber driver to find using GPS. The cathedral right outside the hotel was beautiful and there were some lovely restaurants nearby for a quick bite or a nice dinner.
Only stayed for a night for a concert in town. However, front desk was very friendly and accommodating. Check in and out was a breeze. Rooms were cool and clean. Had a beautiful view. Definitely would stay again.
I needed to get to Philadelphia a day before holiday and this was the only hotel available I paid over 300$ a night and this hotel was a disaster.
Dirty, dirty to a point you can t imagine. Dirty bath dirty carpet broken appliances, breakfast was included but the food was awful plates were so dirty you could see the spots of cheese and eggs on them, like they literally just used a napkin to empty the food instead of washing them. Then they gave me a bill for 23$ just so I can include my tip for breakfast. No free-WiFi for rooms, even though it said it s free on the website, no free parking... this list can go on and on...
The rooms aren't in the best of shape. There is wifi for guests. The elevators are terrible because it takes at least a minute for it to arrive, and the stairs are confusing. Access to the hotel by car is limited, but that's just due to the city setting. The bathrooms are pretty nice.
It was very nice. Great view and customer service. No complaints.
Very nice hotel, somewhat dated but plenty of room to spread out. Furniture was older like the Marriott type hotel chain and I had to hunt for usable electrical outlets for my gadgets. All in all, good visit.
The rooms are old and tired. Funky carpet in the rooms. Lower floors seem to be worse. Dirty dishes on the hallway for 4 days. Ran out of bath towel and room service came and gave us pool towels instead. I'll give them points for creativity.
The hotel room is nice and the service is good too. They understood me well and the employees are very friendly. The only bad thing was that you can only use free wifi in the lobby.
Rooms were generally worn down and not the cleanest. The shower water was lukewarm at best. Unknown stains on the towels and bed comforters.
Elevators aren't sufficient for the flow at most times in the evening. A huge line can form in the lobby, and it's nearly impossible to catch an elevator down at any peak time (evenings, checkout, etc). They're all full by the time they reach the middle floors.
Good location and friendly desk staff are the only reasons to stay here.
Bathroom was dirty, view wasn't fantastic either. The room it's self was very good however!
A few things went wrong (reserved a king bed but they were all out so we got two doubles; we were sent to the wrong room and our key didn't work; we were told we'd have free Wi-Fi but then were charged, etc) BUT the staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly and went out of their way to make up for the inconveniences. One downside was the clogged, slow-draining bath tub drain, and the lack of a bathroom fan, but all in all, the professional friendliness of the staff made up for all the inconveniences.
This hotel never fails to amaze me! I always choose this hotel for our staycation because their services are simply outstanding! They will make sure that you are having a great time and enjoying your stay! Highly recommended!
It is a large, old hotel. large rooms but I suffered in the winter because the heating was out of order. close to the Barnes collection and the wonderful art museum, it is also not far from the university museum which has a precious collection. But the service was kind. It was close to Christmas and I saw a beautiful presentation of children. He would return to depend on my budget because the dollar is high.
Concierge staff was very helpful.
6 o'clock at night. Lobby full of people because rooms not ready.
Room has been broken into. Carpet is loose and stained. This is what I picture motel 6 to be.
The room and the service was great but it lacked free WiFi in each room
Great hotel and location. However parking is not convenient here unless you use their valet service.
Location is fantastic. Rooms are average size and averarge quality. Parking is valet only - $42 per night. You can park across the street for far less than that. The pool is relatively small considering the number of rooms in the hotel. The pool has a major greenhouse effect. On a 90 degree day in June it felt like an oven in the pool house. Totally uncomfortable. The gym is a good size and has adequate equipment. The highlight was the extremely friendly housekeeping staff. So sweet and kind. I declare all housekeeping staff receive a 30% raise.
A good basic hotel that is conveniently located in the city.
They had good customer service and they answered questions fast and easily. The hotel itself was clean and looked very efficient.
The concierge staff was the best customer service staff I've ever encountered, the same cannot be said for the front desk staff. Our attendant who checked us in was unattentative and did not offer any help. The beds are pillow door, which I'm not used to, but they are very comfortable. Overall pleased with our one night stay.
Parking is a problem, it's very expensive. The rooms are good, nothing spectacular. They do have decent flat screen tvs and I do love their comforters. The wifi is terrible here, even as a platinum member in the better internet, it barely goes 2mbps.
Room was nice. Staff were friendly. But the elevators took forever. I've never seen such a slow elevator in my life. Furthermore trying to find the stairs were incredibly difficult. They were not marked at all. The only way to find where the stairs was to ask a staff member.
A dump. Recently bought by Marriott with plans to renovate, but currently disgusting and the staff aren't about customer service.
BEWARE, CONSTRUCTION! Hair in the bathroom. Carpet is stained. Wallpaper coming off the walls. Woken up by construction in the room directly above going on all morning. Staff offered to do nothing about it except a free buffet but by the time we got downstairs it was over. My wife was in Philly to take a test so she wanted to study in the morning which was impossible with the noise.
Excellent hotel service, good location, clean and has coffee maker.
Two stars is quite generous for this hotel. We were in Philadelphia for a conference. I had my mother, 1 year old child, and small dog with me. Upon arrival, at 10:30pm on a Wednesday, there was no valet. I checked in with a woman who I don't think smiled the entire time. I told her I had a dog (which was noted in my reservation). At that point, it would have been helpful for her to tell me where I could take my dog to relieve herself. No. She maybe said 6 words the entire time. I wandered around in the dark to find a patch of grass for her. The bellman was very helpful and took our luggage to the room. I was then expected to park the car in the garage by myself, which was dark, and had no other people in it. It also had a fire alarm going off for at least 20 minutes while I was in there, which means if you scream, no one can hear you. We were on the 7th floor. It was dark and smelly. There were stains on the carpet in the hall. The room stunk of stale smoke, to the point I didn't want my child in there. The comforters had some yellow stains on them. The window sills were constantly wet with moisture. I did request a refrigerator and they delivered it right away, and the gentleman that brought it was friendly. The two stars are mostly for the housekeeper. She was extremely nice, checking on my mom and child frequently. She deserves 5 stars herself, but the hotel itself I can only give 2.
Great place. But the parking logistics can be problematic. Only 1 staff left to park visitors' cars.
Security staff was very welcoming. I was having an event during the eagles parade, but I was not a guest. They verified my credentials and let me in immediately. Very hospitable.
Comfortable room. Wish parking situation was better, and that wifi/breakfast was included.
A little out dated and the carpet can use a good shampooing but overall a good experience.
3-Star? Not TRUE!!!
This was a very upscale hotel. It has been drastically renovated. The location is prime. Walking distance to many of the local sites. I will definitely be a repeat customer! My first time in the city but definitely not the last
Every time ove been there clean, welcoming, people are friendly. Using conference rooms for the DTRF Patient Meeting service was great during meetings
VP was at hotel for some reason as we arrived for our stay but no communication from hotel as to that being the case! all roads around it shut and could not get to park or drop our bags off near hotel. Some warning would have been nice. Eventually found a car park thanks to a friendly police lady.
Inside lobby looks sleek.
Bar is tiny and no where to sit.
Rooms smelt of smoke! Stains on walls and carpets. Tatty bed covers. Wall sockets coming away from wall.
The only thing going for it is it s location which was good. All in all very dated and not looked after.
Would not recommend.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was great. No complaints.
I have only been here a few times for meetings but their meeting services are great. Very spacious rooms and the food is always good.
Very friendly and helpful staff, and much of the facility is nice. The lobby, bar, and restaurant are updated and clean. The hotel is under renovation, and I was staying on a floor that had not been renovated. Very dark hallways, old dingy carpeting. No working ice machines. The hotel phones don't work. I'm hoping the renovation is finished before I need to return.
Hotel room was nice. Queen room accommodated two people. What made this not 5 stars was a sheet they had on the bed. It was at one point a quilted sheet with stuffing in 4"x4" squares. When we had the sheet the stuffing was 1" hard ball in the center of each square. It was both gross and uncomfortable.
Staff is really nice. The place needs to be upgraded however.
Well, it's a typical American hotel. Nice staff, etc. Unfortunately, no free Wi-Fi in the rooms, but only in the lobby area or you have to pay for it. Parking fee too overpriced. Breakfast was not there. Generally not for a night or two, but otherwise not ...
Alot of things were out of date or broken and there's no mini fridge.
There was a miscommunication about our stay of 150 band students and there were not enough towels in the room. The staff were very responsive and accommodating in addressing the issue of getting extra towels to nearly 40 rooms quickly. Several bands were staying at the hotel and there was an amazing amount of coordination required by the hotel to make our stay possible.
The customer service is horrible, walls are thin we could hear everything the people next door was saying. The room was old and dusty looking. Valet took 30mins to pull our car up. Just an all around horrible experience I would not recommend this hotel.
Pretty decent hotel. Location is great. Rooms are a bit outdated though.
